September is National Recovery Awareness Month.

ROCovery Annual Run/Walk and X-Challenge is a celebration of fitness and recovery, and an important fundraiser for this life saving organization—and again this year, it is both in-person and virtual so you can run and enter your results from anywhere in the world all month long! Run, walk, or just join our virtual community for the fun updates, posts and pictures!

In just over 10 years, ROCovery has engaged more than 11,000 individuals in recovery from alcohol and substance use disorder. We provide a safe place for recovery of both mind and body, helping people rebuild their lives and rediscover their inner strength and confidence through adventure, fun, and sober social connection.

This event celebrates the hope we find in recovery, and remembers loved ones who have been lost to the disease of addiction. Whether you are running for yourself, for someone you love, or for someone you've lost, we hope you will run (or walk!) for ROCovery!

If you are a person in recovery who is in need of financial assistance to sign up for the event please email us at [email protected] and we will discreetly scholarship you for your entry fee.

All runners and walkers will receive a swag bag with a custom bib and race *t-shirt! (*while supplies last)

Mendon Trail Run - A Trail Run for Everyone! New distances this year!! This year's trail run features distances of 5K, 10K, Half Marathon (21.1 km), and 50K on the east side of beautiful Mendon Ponds ParkSince 1994, The Rochester Orienteering Club has offered The Mendon Trail Run. The Mendon Trail Run raises funds to support the activities of the Club, which is one of the most active Orienteering Clubs in the US (to learn more, or to attend one of our events, see https://rochesterorienteering.org/)Distances offered and estimated climb:- 50K -- 4750 ft of climb- Half marathon (21.1K) -- 2000 ft of climb- 10K -- 950 ft of climb- 5K -- 450 ft of climb Race start times 50K: 8:00 amHalf marathon: 9:00 am5K: 9:45 am10K: 10:00 am 50K logistics The 50K will start at 8 am, runners will do five 10K loops. The 10 km loop is entirely off-road, mostly doubletrack with some singletrack. The course will be marked, turns marked at trail junctions, and traffic cones at the one road crossing. The course has

many rolling hills. The course for the most part is runnable (not very technical), although there is one short rocky downhill section where the footing can be somewhat tricky. There is an estimated 950 feet of climb per 10k loop.Aid station for 10K, half marathon, and 50k runners at midway through the loop, plus one water/Gatorade stop at the S/F of the loop.Map of the 10K loop Half Marathon logistics The half marathon will start at 9 am, using the same starting line as the other distances (very close to race headquarters). Runners will do a 1.1 km loop, which will end at the finish line, at which point the runners will do two 10K loops, to give the 21.1 km half marathon distance.Map of the 1.1 km loop 10K logistics The 10K will start at 10:00 am; runners will do one 10K loop using the same starting line as the other distances.Map of the 10K loop 5K course The 5K course starts at 9:45 am, using the same starting line as the other distances, except the runners will start heading east from

the starting line, which is the opposite direction of the other distances. (They will not do the short loop that passes the open shelter on the hill.) From that point, the course is the same as the 10K loop for the first 3.7 km, then splits off to head back. Estimated climb is 450 feetNote that there are no aid stations on the 5K course..Map of 5K course Refund policy Refunds, minus a 20% administration fee, will be given until October 15. No refunds after October 15. Refund requests are made via UltraSignup. Shirts Short-sleeve cotton shirts are available as an option. The price is $15.00 plus tax for small to XL, and $20 plus tax for 2XL or 3XL. Entries with requests for shirts need to be submitted by October 11. There may be a limited number available for purchase on race day. Bib # pickup - At Medved Running & Walking Outfitters, 3400 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY 14618, on Friday November 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. - At the race for 50K, from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. - For all other distances, bib

pickup is from 8:05 to race time. If race has not filled up, day-of-meet entries will be accepted during the above time periods. Pacers Pacers will be permitted in the 50K only, and only for the last two loops. There is no charge for pacers, but we require that you fill out a waiver. See the registration table for the waiver. There are several rules for pacers, most of which are common in ultras:- Pacers can't carry supplies for the runner (they can't carry the runner's Camelbak if they have one, for example; they can't carry their water bottle, or food for them, etc.)- The pacer must arrive at the aid station with the runner or after the runner, and must leave the aid station with the runner or before the runner. So the pacer can't race ahead and be filling the runner's water bottle, rounding up food items, etc., or linger after the runner has left the aid station.- Since we won't be charging for pacers, pacers are not allowed to take supplies for himself/herself at the aid stations.- The

pacer can't run through the finish line with the runner, either at the end of the race or when finishing a lap. Bib transfers If you're not able to attend the meet, you can transfer your bib to another runner via UltraSignup. The deadline for bib transfers is Oct. 24. Distance changes UltraSignup allows participants to change their distance, up until Nov. 5. Changing to a shorter distance will not give a refund. When changing to a longer (higher priced) distance, the original order is removed and they will be given a credit to re-register at the longer distance. It is also possible to change distance on the day of the race, at registration -- let the registrar know. As with online distance changes, changing to a shorter distance will not give a refund; changing to a longer distance will require a payment (cash or check only). No distance changes allowed once the race has started. Aid stations Due to County Park health regulations, in some instances, food may need to be handed to you. There

will be one fully stocked aid station mid-loop providing the following:FOOD: small cups of: M&Ms, gummi bears, pretzels, pringles, dill pickle slices, fig newtonsPlease point to what you would like and a volunteer will take the cup and drop the contents in your hand (health rules may change without notice on this site)LIQUIDS: water, gatorade, flat coke and ginger ale, pickle juicePlease consider bringing a collapsible cup and/or water bottle for liquids. An aid station with water and Gatorade only will be at the beginning of each loop. Plan to bring any other favorite foods in your drop bag. Sponsors We are grateful for the Race Support Provided by Medved and Wegmans. Event's current local time: 5:00 AM ET
