We are excited to kick things off once again! The league is open to runners from PreK through fifth grade.

Race Divisions: Pre-K, K-2nd Grade, 3rd-5th Grade

Race Distances: The PreK division will race over 1/4 mile, the K-2nd Grade division will compete over a half-mile, and the 3rd-5th grade division will race one mile. The race is open to individuals from all schools and counties. You do not have to be affiliated with a school running club to compete.

Race Cost: $40 for all four races or $12 per race. To make each race day go as smoothly as possible, online entries will close at 10:00 am the day of each race. This ensures we get the runners into the meet software with an assigned bib number and lets us focus on race management on race day. While we will still allow race day registration, it will cost $15.

SASS STRUT stands for Seriously Awesome Stroke Survivors Strutting To Recover Uplift & Thrive. THE SASS STRUT IS AN ANNUAL 5K FUN-RUN EVENT TO INCREASE AWARENESS ABOUT STROKE AND RAISE MONEY TO FUND STROKE REHAB IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

In 2016 Neuro Therapy Nashville started Seriously Awesome Stroke Survivors (SASS) as a dynamic support group for stroke survivors, their family, friends, caregivers, and others in the stroke community.

We are excited to announce that this year the 5K will support the Brain Injury and Stroke Charity of Tennessee (BISCT, pronounced biscuit), a newly formed local non-profit that provides funding to stroke and brain injury survivors who cannot afford treatment, as well as providing caregiver respite programs. With your support, we can reach those with immediate need right here in Nashville.

THIS WALK, RUN, OR ROLL EVENT IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF ALL ABILITIES AND STROKE SURVIVORS IN VARIOUS STAGES OF RECOVERY.

SASS STRUT 5K features a scenic wooded paved trail that starts at the dock on Couchville Lake in Long Hunter State Park, follows the Couchville Lake Trail around the lake, wrapping back through the starting point for a short out and back to hit the full 5K and finish the race.

    SURVIVOR STRUT

There is a shorter loop available called the Survivor Strut. The Survivor Strut starts at the same starting line as the full 5K and marks every 100 feet for 1000 feet so Survivors of limited mobility can map their progress along the Strut. Completing the full Survivor Strut will be a total of 2000 feet. Survivors are also welcome and encouraged to walk/run/roll the full 5K if they are able.

Whether you finish the 5K or The Survivor Strut or walk 100 yards, we look forward to celebrating with you and the rest of the stroke community at SASS STRUT 5K!

(The racecourse is the same as the 2022 racecourse) Parking for the event will be at the Bowen-Campbell House, along the park road by the football fields, and at the visitor center. The parking by the playground will be reserved for event staff and volunteers and marked off with cones as necessary. After the race is completed, awards based on finishing place will be announced and awarded. Additionally, race results will be posted online for viewing after the race

is completed on our race website.

Raising Money for all: This year the Goodlettsville Four Mile Classic is raising money for Good Works/ Walking with Swager. This organization does disaster relief/ trains people for disaster relief as well as helps the elderly in our community when they have a project out of reach, such as a removing a tree falling across their entry way.

Awards are changing this year! This year we will be giving medals for first place instead of race hats. Race Hats are now available instead of race shirts for early registrations. We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing Wyatt's Walk and Run back this year to benefit Empower Me Center!!! Empower Me Center has made such an incredible impact on Wyatt and our family over the last several years! They provide much needed recreational and educational services for our local special needs community through a variety of year round programs and activities. Their summer day camp is something Wyatt looks forward to all year long, and is a Godsend for working parents like us! Empower Me Center gives children and families like ours opportunities to meaningfully participate in the community with their peers. The Empower Me Center team is truly like a family to us, and I don't know how we would make it without them. With that said, there are so many other families that need this support and the ability to be a part of this growing organization and family! Empower Me Center is in the process of beginning construction of their state of the art facility here in Wilson County,

and we couldn't be more excited. This will include a huge recreational facility, sports complex, and eventually multi-living facility offering housing opportunities. Through raising a child with special needs, our eyes have truly been opened to the dire need for facilities and services like this. We have been fortunate enough to be involved with Empower Me since Wyatt was very young, but the truth is that without this facility, they just cannot meet all of the needs of all of the families that are out there. We want to change that! We want to give all individuals and families that are affected by a disability a place to feel and call home. A place where they can be their selves and truly live their best lives. Please join us on June 20th to support this incredible organization and their mission for the future!
