Every year Amberly hosts a race through our beautiful neighborhood to raise money to support a local nonprofit organization that serves our community selected by the Amberly Community Service Club. This year they chose Special Olympics North Carolina! PLUS because we're racing on Halloween we're giving away some great prizes for Best Costume and Best Family Costume!

Support Special Olympics North Carolina today and give the power of sport to an athlete.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded Special Olympics with a vision that individuals with intellectual disabilities were far more capable in sports and physical activity than many experts believed possible. Athletes in North Carolina are never charged to participate due to the generous support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and civic groups helps fund the training facilities, equipment, transportation, and coaches key to every athlete’s experiences.

Their Mission: To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

All races will have a mass start at 9:00 AM for the Fun Mile and 9:15 for the 3 Mile / 5 Mile and the course closes for all races at 10:45 AM (In-person Race Day Schedule). Please consider your race pace when deciding which event to run. * For any participants who feel they may need some extra time, please contact us at info@fitandable.net.

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    High School: We also welcome our high school runners! Our high school students will be running a 2 mile race.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Makeup Date Information: 5/24/2026

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

With over 300 participants for our last in-person race, this event provides a great opportunity to connect with athletic and like-minded individuals both in and out of the water and wastewater industry.     Summer 2026 Adult Marathon Prep Class in Cary is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.

    The class is 12 weeks long and is geared toward helping adults get started running or back into a regular running routine prior to our fall marathon training class. We want to set everyone up for success in marathon training by ensuring everyone has good base mileage going into the fall season. All levels and paces are welcome!

    Cost of the class is: $80 if you register by 5/3. Price increases to: $85 if you register 5/4-5/24. Deadline to register is: 5/24. No refund or class credit if you drop the class after registering.

    If you have financial difficulty in affording a training class, please contact us. We have a donation program that can help out.

    Cost includes: 12-week training schedule, 2 coach-led group run workouts per week, email access to the coach throughout the program, 20% off discount at Pace Yourself Run Company (some restrictions apply), training class shirt, strength training plan, coach-led Saturday group long runs, 15% discount on merchandise (shirts, hats) at The Running PTs, and weekly tips and running information from your coach and The Running PTs to supplement your knowledge.

    Coach Kelly Svihovec will coach this class.

    Program dates: May 10, 2026 - August 1, 2026. Group training will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30AM-6:30AM, and there are group long runs with all summer adult classes on Saturdays at 7:00AM-9:00AM. The class will meet on Mondays & Wednesdays at Davis Drive Park (1610 Davis Drive, Apex, NC 27523). Saturday run locations vary weekly and rotate throughout the Triangle area.

    Our Spring 2026 Kids Race is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.

    Come join us for our Kids Track Race on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2-4pm at the Mills Park Middle School track & field in Cary! We will have lots of mini races of varying distances on the track during the event, plus fun running games on the inner field for those waiting their turn to race. Races to include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1-mile races (broken into age groups). Medals for all participants and ribbons for the top 3 winners of each individual race heat. Open to ages 6-15.

    Water, Gatorade, and popsicles will be provided to the kids during/after the event.

    Cost of the race is $30. No refund and no credit if you drop from the race after registering.

    Cost includes: participation in as many mini race events as you'd like to register your child for, a race bib to wear during the event, participation in running games, hydration and popsicles, and medals.

    Race is capped at 60 participants.

    TRS Coaches will coordinate/coach this event. After signing your child in, we ask that parents go to the stands during the event.
