As a non-profit serving impoverished and homeless children and families, Note in the Pocket started with a simple mission: to clothe children with dignity and love. Note in the Pocket believes that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school.

We have a goal to clothe 12,00 children and families from across the Triangle in 2026. Proceeds from this event help to make that happen.

These events are not just about running, they are about igniting awareness, and unity in the fight against Ocular Melanoma. By participating, you're not only support groundbreaking research but also bringing together individuals affected by Ocular Melanoma. We're Lookin' For a Cure in Raleigh/Durham!

A Partnership for Progress

A Cure In Sight collaborates with leading research facilities and dedicated physicians that specialize in Ocular Melanoma treatment. Together, we channel the net proceeds from these events into ongoing research projects and patient support programs. Your involvement directly contributes to advancing the quest for a cure.

Come be a part of Lookin' For a Cure Raleigh/Durham on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at Bull City Running Company South Durham from 7:00 AM to 10 AM and join A Cure In Sight for a walk or run that goes beyond the scenic beauty that you will experience during the race. Together, we'll take steps to combat Ocular Melanoma, a rare eye cancer that is diagnosed in approximately 3,000 new cases each year across the United States. Bring your friends and family, start a team and begin fundraising to help us reach our goal. All ages are welcome to walk or run with us.

Our Spring 2026 Kids Race is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.

Come join us for our Kids Track Race on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2-4pm at the Mills Park Middle School track & field in Cary! We will have lots of mini races of varying distances on the track during the event, plus fun running games on the inner field for those waiting their turn to race. Races to include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1-mile races (broken into age groups). Medals for all participants and ribbons for the top 3 winners of each individual race heat. Open to ages 6-15.

Water, Gatorade, and popsicles will be provided to the kids during/after the event.

Cost of the race is $30. No refund and no credit if you drop from the race after registering.

Cost includes: participation in as many mini race events as you'd like to register your child for, a race bib to wear during the event, participation in running games, hydration and popsicles, and medals.

Race is capped at 60 participants.

TRS Coaches will coordinate/coach this event. After signing your child in, we ask that parents go to the stands during the event.

• 1:45-2:00pm - sign-in and get bibs

• 2-2:15pm - group warmups

• 2:20pm - 100m race

• 3:30pm - 1 mile race

• 3:50pm - Awards, medals & popsicles, plus sign-out

Calling all UT employees! Join us on May 20 for a community 5K walk/run to raise awareness for breast cancer and support early detection efforts. The event will follow a 3.1‑mile (5K) path at the RTP location.

Whether you're onsite or remote, everyone is encouraged to participate. Remote employees can join from anywhere by choosing their own local route and walking or running alongside coworkers, family, or friends.

This 5K is a great opportunity to move your body, connect with others, and show support for the many individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. Lace up your sneakers, invite your teammates, and help us bring awareness to a cause that saves lives.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces.

All races will have a staggered start beginning at 8:00 AM (in order of distance) and the course closes for all races at 9:30 AM (In-person Race Day Schedule). Please consider your race pace when deciding which event to run. * For any participants who feel they may need some extra time, please contact us at info@fitandable.net.
