DINO returns (for the first time since 2013), to DePauw Nature Park, which offers stunning views in, and above, its rock quarry cliffs. The trail surface is mostly crushed stone, making it great for running when springtime trails are wet. It's an excellent choice for first time trail runners. There are a couple of steep hills of 50 to 100' vertical climb, but the majority of the route has very mild grades.

    The third annual Tristan Calvin 5k scholarship run will be on the Owen Valley xc course in memory of his many activities with the school. Tristan, as a Senior at Owen Valley had his life cut short during a traffic accident on July 20th, 2023. Tristan never met a stranger and was giving to a fault. His parents are starting this scholarship in his name to keep that giving spirit alive. Please consider a donation in his name and bringing your family and friends out to walk or run with us in his memory.

    Registration will open at 6:45am with the race starting at 8:00am.

    Awards will be awarded to the top running and walking individuals as well as runner age group winners.

    The Twilight River Run, presented by Riddell National Bank, will be on Friday, July 24th at Fairbanks Park. This is a 1 Mile run/walk or a 5k run/walk and please note, this is a NIGHT race. Register by July 18th to guarantee a shirt. Race day registration will be available.

    Race packet pickup will be located at the YMCA from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM on July 24th.

    Each year the Twilight River Run includes a high school team event were schools can compete as a group to win money for their school running program. Each team must consist of at least four members. High school awards for both girls and boys. The four fastest times from each team will be used for the team placement. Team members are eligible for individual age group awards. The school team with the lowest cumulative time will win $250, and the second place team will win $100 for their school running program.

    The Twilight River Run also funds the WVRR Scholarship Program. Each year WVRR awards two scholarships to outstanding student athletes from the Wabash Valley. Applicants are evaluated based on their academic and athletic accomplishments as well as the contributions they make to their schools and communities.     The ninth annual BENefit Mile will take place on Friday, August 7, 2025 in Plainfield, Indiana at 7:00 p.m.. This net downhill race will begin on Buchanan Street and finish in downtown Plainfield near the Plainfield Friends Meeting off of East Street.

    This event features a unique opportunity for seasoned runners to tackle a fast, shorter race than the typical road run, and will also appeal to those just starting out with running (walkers are also encouraged to participate)! The BENefit Mile will separate into corrals based on estimated finish times. Stick around after the races for post-race festivities!

    The BENefit Mile will raise funds for the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent in memory of Ben Harmon, a Hendricks County resident and runner and who passed away in July of 2018 of Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Ben’s optimism and genuine positivity towards everyone, as well as his fight against his cancer was incredibly inspiring. This race will raise funds to help the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases support other patients and families in their fight against cancer as well.
