1 Miles 10k Run Trail Walk

The Wissahickon Trail Classic was established in 2006 to highlight Wissahickon Valley Park as one of the best trail running destinations on the East Coast. Back for its 17th year, the Wissahickon Trail Classic will engage hundreds of trail runners from the region, providing a unique race experience in Philadelphia’s premier park. Benefiting Friends of the Wissahickon, funds raised through the Trail Classic will go directly back into the stewardship of the Wissahickon trail system and watershed.

Date: Saturday, June 6th

Time: 8:30am

Start/finish location: W. Northwestern Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19118

Length: 10K trail race or 1 mile family-friendly nature walk. Here’s a map of the last Trail Classic in 2024. The 2026 race course will generally be the same.

Join the Glenside 5K Run / 1-Mile Fun Walk and support the 4th of July celebration, proudly hosted by the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA).

Since 1904, Glenside has celebrated Independence Day with a full day of community fun—including our beloved parade and fireworks. Did you know it’s 100% funded by donations? By signing up, you’ll help keep this cherished tradition going strong.

Please help the GGPA by asking 50 family members, friends, coworkers, or neighbors to donate $1 or more to support our cherished July 4th festivities. Proceeds benefit the fireworks display.

In Memory of Michael Gillespie: Keep the Parade Running honors the memory of Michael Gillespie, a beloved public servant, retired Abington Township Police officer, and true Glenside icon who passed away in 2009.

A 26-year police veteran, nearly two-decade Abington Township Commissioner, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and Abington High School graduate (Class of ’56), Michael devoted his life to service. He co-chaired the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) and was deeply involved in the July 4th Parade and Fireworks, as well as the Marine Corps League, Kiwanis, and Citizens and Police Together (CAPT).

Remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and tireless dedication, Michael’s legacy of service and love for Glenside lives on. 🇺🇸
