    The Bridesburg Memorial Day Parade is one of the oldest and longest Memorial Day Parades in Pennsylvania. After World War II, Bridesburg resident, Edward Dubeck's mission in life was to make sure people remember all service members who didn't make it home from war.

    In the late 1970s, the United Veterans of Bridesburg was founded by Bridesburg residents, Edward DuBeck, John 'Moose' Muszynski, and the Commanders of both VFW Post 2 and American Legion Post 821 to continue to remember those who served in defense of our American values.

    The mission of the Bridesburg Memorial Day 5K is to help raise funds to be sure that this special parade will continue to honor all who have served, past and present. Donations will be greatly appreciated.

    In order to continue to honor all of those who have served, past and present, in defense of our American Values, The United Veterans of Bridesburg are holding this 5K Memorial Run and 1 Mile Honor Walk to raise funds to help make Mr. DuBeck's annual parade a success. The run will start and finish near the front of the Bridesburg Recreation Center. The run begins at 8:30 AM

    Event details and schedule

    Race Day registration will begin at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

    5K Start at 8:30 AM

    Honor Walk Start 8:45 AM

    Refreshments provided post race by Weavers Way Co-Op, Dietz and Watson, Yards Brewing Company, the United Veterans of Bridesburg and race administration.

    Join us in the fight against cancer at the 47th Philadelphia Bar Association 5K Run/Walk in Fairmount Park

    For nearly half a century, the Philadelphia Bar Association has supported important causes in our community. This year, we are excited to introduce a new charity partner for the Bar Run: Anchors, an Inperium Foundation.

    Anchors was established in 2019 to honor the legacy of Carol Camp, a woman who brought hope and compassion to patients and caregivers even as she faced her own battle with ovarian cancer. Since her passing, her mission has lived on in Anchors' unwavering support to people affected by cancer, offering comfort, care, and essential assistance during their time of need.

    The race begins and ends at Bala Cynwyd Park. It follows a scenic out-and-back route down the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, with a turnaround point just past the park for an exciting finish. See course map here.

    Professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing Co. Results will be posted at brynmawrracing.com.

    Summer camp is life-changing. It shaped who we are and gave us lifelong memories. By raising funds for SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education), our goal is to provide underprivileged children with the opportunity to experience the magic of camp.
