    The Just Tri It Youth triathlon is a fun and challenging event for kids ages 5 – 16. Young athletes will swim, bike and run in this 3-event race that not only promotes fitness but improves self-confidence as participants cross the finish line on their own. A great introduction to the sport, the race will be completely contained within the boundaries of the City Park in Manhattan, Kansas.

    Join us for the Kids Try-A-Tri, a fun and beginner-friendly youth event hosted as part of the Wyalusing North Branch Triathlon weekend!

    This event is designed to give kids a chance to experience the excitement of a triathlon-style challenge in a safe, encouraging, and low-pressure environment. Participants will complete a short loop around Grovedale Winery with age-appropriate activities that keep the focus on movement, confidence, and fun.

    The Kids Try-A-Tri is perfect for young participants who want to try something new, cheer each other on, and be part of race weekend in a way that is built just for them. This is not about speed or cut throat competition it’s about getting active, building confidence, and celebrating every kid who gives it a try.

    Families are encouraged to come out, cheer loud, and enjoy the community atmosphere at Grovedale Winery. Whether your child is brand new to events like this or already loves to run, bike, paddle, or play outside, the Kids Try-A-Tri is a great way to make them part of the Triathlon weekend fun.

    Designed with kids in mind, this low-pressure event gives young participants the chance to experience the excitement of a triathlon-style challenge through a short, supervised loop and age-appropriate activities. The focus is on movement, confidence, community, and fun- not speed or competition. Although we will be crowing our Junior Ironman and Ironwoman

    Families are encouraged to cheer on their young athletes and enjoy the race weekend atmosphere. Whether your child is trying something new or already loves being active outdoors, the Kids Try-A-Tri is a great way to be part of the Triathlon weekend celebration.

    Top of the evening with treats from a local food truck, s'mores station. Or make posters of support for the Wyalusing North Branch Triathlon Participants! It's going to be a great event.

    Located at Mitchell Park - Guthrie Lake

    This is the seventh year for this event

    Always a great time of year to end your season and it is the last race of the year in the great state of Oklahoma (including KS, MO and AR)

    Great lake (no wake) in a protected cove. This is the most spectator friendly swim in the state allowing the Athletes supporters to walk the shoreline for the entirety of the distance always knowing where they are. Great kayak support

    The bike course is a very challenging course for all the distances ending with a very fast run course. This course has multiple loops making it a very spectator friendly course all the way to the finish line.

    Sprint: Swim 500yd - Bike 18mi - Run 3m

    Beat Buzz Super Sprint: Swim 200yd - Bike 6mi - Run 1mi

    Duathlon: Run 2mi - Bike 18mi - Run 2mi

    Super Sprint Aquabike: Swim 200yds - Bike 6mi

    This year race management will have a Youth Under 12 free race - when selecting this option after registering you will need to contact race management directly to identify what your Athlete chooses to race - there will be an additional charge to cover the cost of the shirt if you chose to order one

    USA Triathlon Youth Memberships Youth Digital:

    • $10 Digital-only membership card accessible via the USA Triathlon app or member login

    • Includes a subscription to the quarterly USA Triathlon magazine

    • Participation in the USA Triathlon national ranking system

    • Eligibility for sanctioned races

    • Youth Premier: $30 Includes all the benefits of the Youth Digital membership

    • Includes a physical membership card

    Check-in/packet pick up will be Saturday/race morning only starting at 7:am - all you need is your photoID no exceptions

    Only the registered Athlete can pick up the packet no exceptions

    There will be an email blast sent out Sept 29th/Monday with additional details
