    Mark your calendars and get ready to Sprint 2 Spring for our 11TH ANNUAL EVENT!

    This 5K run/walk is hosted by the Hanover Township Office of Community Health to promote healthy and active lifestyles in the community while raising money for the Hanover Township Foundation. All proceeds from this event will go to the Foundation, which helps residents, experiencing financial hardship, access quality health services.

    5k participants who register by 4/6/26 will receive a performance-wear event T-shirt. After 4/6/26 T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed but will be given out while supplies last.

    Start Time: 8:00am

    Check-in: Begins at 6:30am

    When: Saturday, May 2, 2026; 8AM Start

    Where: Hanover Township Izaak Walton Youth Center; 899 Jay Street, Elgin, IL

    Packet Pick Up: Packet pickup will include your race bib (timing chip), event t-shirt, event information, and any promotional giveaway items.

    You may pick up on these two days:

    Friday, May 1: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Hanover Township Izaak Walton Youth Center (899 Jay St, Elgin, IL).

    OR

    Same-Day Registration and Pre-registered Packet Pick-up is available from 6:30 am to 7:45 am on the morning of the race on Saturday, May 2.

    • Great Course: Enjoy scenic wide paths of the Mallard Lake Forest Preserve, limestone, some asphalt, certified course and flush toilet bathrooms.

    • Kids 1/3 Mile Dash: Registered participants receive an awesome goody bag and ribbon to celebrate.

    • Cash Prizes: Awarded to the top two 5k male & female finishers. $100 1st & $75 2nd. If high school athlete, will give scholarship.

    • Medals:1st, 2nd & 3rd places in all 5K age categories 9 & under to 80 & over

    100% of Race Proceeds Feed Children

    5K Team Event :

    A Group of three or more participants (any age) to form a team. Team Medals awarded for teams with:

    • Best Time (averaged)

    • Largest Group

    • Highest Fundraising

    How to Sign up Team & Team Members: Pick a name. Sign up individually. First member of group to register will create team name & becomes captain. Additional members search for team name when they sign up.

    Team Prizes: On race day team participant times are averaged. Lowest team average wins "best time" award. All team members can still qualify for age group awards. Members can join the team, and be virtual , however, their time will not be averaged in for team placement.

    The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen.

    TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks.
