    Come run with Bigfoot in the FRESH AIR!!! Course will be WELL MARKED. The 9th annual Bigfoot 5k, a fantastic timed 5k race through the streets and woods of the actual Home of Bigfoot! Run where Bigfoot runs and where an episode of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" was filmed! Showers will be available after the run so that you can enjoy the rest of the day clean & fresh!! Join us today and travel the paths that may have been traveled by our large furry friend! Listen to stories, eat the food, enjoy the Bigfoot BBQ! The stars of the show Finding Bigfoot from Animal Planet have walked our streets and our woods! There will even be some WWE stars in attendance! Come see us and join us for a full day of activities. Who knows, the big guy himself may even show up! At the Home of Bigfoot, Remer MN. The Bigfoot 5k, a timed event held on Saturday July 11th, 2026.

    Event details and schedule

    Race starts at 9:30am at the Depot in Remer, MN Packet pickup will begin at 7:00am at the depot on the day of the race.

    Parking on-site. Waivers will be available on-site, please bring photo ID. Registration will be available on the day of the race.

    The 5k course is a flat course. Part of the course will be on pavement, part on sandy trail, part through woods on dirt, part on gravel road and part on hard-packed trail.

    Timberman Triathlon: Minnesota’s Premier Destination Triathlon

    Race Venue: Sugar Lake Lodge, Cohasset, MN

    The swim is in the crystal clear, clean, turquoise waters of Sugar Lake. The bike is of rustic beauty using rural, county roads, most of which are newly paved. The relatively flat run course takes you through the resort and out and back on pavement with some gravel (Olympic course) to the finish line.

    Race Distances

    Olympic: 1 mile swim (1760 yards), 25 mile bike, 6 mile run

    Sprint: 1/3 mile (587 yards) swim, 11 mile bike, 3 mile run

    Super Sprint: .15 mile swim (264 yards), 5.5 mile bike 1.5 mile run

    Teams (2 or 3 person) can participate in the Olympic and Sprint races. The Super Sprint race is for individuals only.

    Timing

    Timing is conducted by Pickle Events. The event is chip timed and full split results will be posted on the Pickle Events website, www.pickleevents.com

    Awards

    Olympic and Sprint Race Individuals: Awards are given to 1st-3rd places in all age groups. The awards change each year but are usable triathlon/sports related items.

    Age groups (per USAT): 0-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

    Race age corresponds to your age on December 31, 2026.

    Olympic and Sprint Race Teams: Each person (2 or 3 people) on the first place team in the men’s, women’s, and coed divisions will receive first place awards. The award changes each year but is a usable triathlon/sports related item.

    Super Sprint: The top-5 overall male and female will be awarded a medal in the Super Sprint race. No teams in the Super Sprint race-only individuals.

    USAT

    The Timberman Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) and requires each participant to purchase his or her own one-day license or hold an annual membership in order to participate in the race. During registration, you will be directed to the USAT modal to enter your annual membership number or purchase a one-day or annual membership. For more information, please visit the USA Triathlon site, www.usatriathlon.org. All USA Triathlon/Duathlon competitive rules will be enforced during the race.

    About

    The Timberman is a 100% volunteer run organization. The volunteer base consists of the race directors, the race committee (30+ dedicated people), and the over 125 local citizens who help the race run smoothly.     Dare to challenge yourself with the Running the Rapids Half Marathon and 5K! Wind your way through this beautiful course that runs through scenic roadways and paths of Cohasset and Grand Rapids. You will see lakes, trees, parks and everything in between. The route will first take you around beautiful Little Jay Gould lake, down a scenic trail and roadway, and finally around Horseshoe Lake on your way to the finish.

    Bring some running shoes and a positive attitude to this race, and we will make sure to cheer you all the way to the finish!

    All half marathon, half marathon relay and 5K participants will receive an official medal, swag bag, race shirt and post-race beverage, courtesy of Klockow Brewing Company!

    Events

    Half Marathon | Start time: 7:00AM

    In an effort to provide the safest race experience for our participants, the race course will be supported for 3.5 hours (16:00/mile pace). Anyone remaining on the course past the time limit will be required to use the sidewalks and follow all pedestrian/traffic laws.

    Half Marathon Relay| Start time: 7:00AM

    The half marathon relay consists of TWO runners. The first runner will begin at the start line at Portage Park, while the second runner will hop on a bus and be transported to the exchange zone. The exchange zone will be at approximately the half way point of the half marathon. At the exchange zone the runners will tag off their partner. The second runner will complete the second half of the 13.1 distance while the first runner takes the bus to the finish line to cheer on other runners and enjoy the post race activities.

    In an effort to provide the safest race experience for our participants, the race course will be supported for 3.5 hours (16:00/mile pace). Anyone remaining on the course past the time limit will be required to use the sidewalks and follow all pedestrian/traffic laws.

    Headphones are permitted to be worn by participants.
