From big races to Saturday morning group runs—find fun run events and connect with the local endurance sports community.
Families and community members can gather in beautiful spring weather to make strides against dyslexia or participate with a virtual option. On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the public is invited to join in the Walk for Dyslexia to benefit the Madison Area Children’s Dyslexia Center, which offers free, individualized tutoring for Dane County children who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. In-person registration will begin at 8:30 am at Brittingham Park (829 W. Washington Avenue, Madison, WI). The 5K walk/fun run will start at 9:30 am (NEW TIME FOR 2026!). Participants are welcome to run or walk the course. No timing is provided.
Dogs are welcome at Brittingham Park, according to the City of Madison. The City of Madison does require all dogs to be on a leash (leashes must be non-retractable and a maximum of 6 feet long). We kindly request that you respect your fellow event participants and keep a close eye on your dog.
Virtual Option: Invite out-of-town or even out-of-state friends and family to enjoy the fun—without asking them to travel. Run a 5K around your neighborhood, at a local park, or track your steps over a few days to complete a 5K (approximately 6,000 steps make up a 5K) if you’d prefer. We encourage you to send a photo of your adventure to [email protected]. We will be sharing photos on our Facebook page.
ONLINE REGISTRATION AND DONATION FEES: An online registration fee is added to each registration and donation. If you prefer to skip paying the online processing fee, we encourage you to mail in registration or donations. Please download the registration form and mail it by mail before May 1, 2026. Donations are accepted by mail on a continuous basis. If you are tracking donations through a fundraiser, encourage the donor to include a note with your name.
TEAMS: grab your friends, colleagues, and family to form a team! All teams with five or more team members receive a $5 discount on their registration. Discounts will be applied as a refund once your team reaches a minimum of 5 team members. Click through the registration process to start your team. If you are looking for a team that is already created, click the menu above to find it.
Support Henry Vilas Zoo and our wildlife ranger friends in the Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya! A portion of every registration goes to support their important work preserving critically endangered species like black rhinos and Grevy's zebra, and providing them with the best medical care possible.

Join us at the Zoo on Sunday, September 27 for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! **The 10k race start at 8am. The 5k run and walk starts at 8:15am. Participants walking or pushing strollers will be asked to line up in the back of the queue. The kid's fun run begins at 9:30am. **
Race Packets may be picked up before the race at the Zoo in our Guest Services building from 10am - 4pm starting Friday, September 11.
