A WORKOUT FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY
Benefiting Youth Sports
Burpees for Bucks allows you to give back to the Madison community while having fun with the fitness community.
How It Works
For Every $1 donated from March 9th through March 15th, your trainer(s) will do one burpee. This is your chance for payback for every burpee, squat, or lunge they've ever made you do!
Burpees will be done the week of March 16th. Please check with your individual gym or trainer for full details.
The Cause:
All proceeds benefit the Youth Sport Grant awarded by the Madison Area Sports Commission. The Youth Sports Grant program provides opportunities for area youth, who may have financial limitation, to experience the benefits of sports. To date, MASC has awarded more than $406,000 in funding to Dane County area youth sports programs.
More information and a list of past recipients is available at: www.visitmadison.com/sports/what-we-do/youth-grant.

Spring Forward Half Marathon returns in 2026 thanks to the continued support of Ascent Endurance Group, Badger State Timing, and Indoorance Athletic Club! We're excited to host another early-season community run, now featuring both the Half Marathon and 10K options. While the event has grown, it remains a low-key, free race designed for local runners to come together, shake off winter, and start spring strong.
New this year: Indoorance is offering 8- or 12-week training programs for either race distance. For more information or to sign up, full program details and registration can be found here.
This year, on-course support will be available for three hours after the race start. Athletes who wish to continue beyond that time are welcome to do so, but course support and volunteers will no longer be present.
Whether you're tuning up for Boston or another spring marathon, checking in on fitness after a Wisconsin winter, aiming for a solid workout, or simply knocking out your long run for the week, we're glad to have you with us. Please share your estimated pace when registering so we can help group runners with similar goals—we’re also hoping to have pacers available this year to support a variety of goal times.
Course Info:
Half Marathon: One lap around the Madison Arboretum, followed by a ~1.1K add-on through Vilas Park, finishing with a second lap around the Arboretum( roughly 10K each).
10K: One full lap of the Arboretum.
Donations are welcomed and appreciated—they help cover event costs and ensure Spring Forward continues for years to come

The last Saturday of April each spring, over 10,000 Badgers descend downtown State Street to kick off the Crazylegs Classic.
Not surprisingly, the idea for this event was hatched in late 1981 by three Badger loyalists at a campus bar. The three, Tom Grantham, Ken Sparks, and Rich Backus, wanted to raise money to support UW Athletics. As admirers of then- Athletic Director Elroy Hirsch, they asked his permission to name it the "Crazylegs Run" in his honor.
The first race in 1982 attracted 1,525 runners and raised $9,500. The event grew in popularity and the walk was added in 1987 with 676 walkers the first year. The event has grown substantially reaching a record high of 20,415 in 2010. Since the inaugural race 43 years ago, it has attracted over 354,000 runners and walkers. The Crazylegs Classic has become a time-honored tradition of the University of Wisconsin, as well as a much-anticipated event to kickoff spring in the Madison community.
Register by March 23, 2026 to guarantee your t-shirt size.

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the public is invited to join in the Walk for Dyslexia to benefit the Madison Area Children’s Dyslexia Center, which offers free, individualized tutoring for Dane County children who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. AWI Freedom Run
The Annual AWI Freedom Run is a virtual race being organized by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation to raise funds for The American Warrior Initiative. You can choose where to run, walk, or bike, whether it be your favorite path or even at home or the gym on a treadmill or elliptical machine. You can do it on your own or with friends! You can even register and use one of our "Ghost Runners" to do the 5k for you.
The American Warrior Initiative is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization that has reached thousands, bringing awareness to the challenges facing the men and women who have served in the military, police force, fire departments, and more. AWI has spearheaded hundreds of Give-Back Initiatives. These amazing heroes have been served through mortgage-free housing, business grants, home upgrades, service dogs, and much more. Every penny that is donated to AWI goes toward these initiatives to honor the recipients.
All profits from this 5K will go to American Warrior Initiative to help raise enough money to fund service dogs for community heroes. A service dog and training can start at a cost of $15,000.00 or more (increasing from there), putting them out of reach for some of the people that need them most. Help us provide this much-needed assistance to the people that risked their lives for our freedom and safety. For more information about The American Warrior Initiative, the help they have provided, and how you can help outside of this 5K, please check out the Youtube link, and website link for American Warrior Initiative listed below.
Registration for this event will open May 25th, 20264 and go through Saturday, July 4th, 2026.

If you’ve done a traditional 5K, you know they can be a bit lackluster. But the BUBBLE RUN™ is like running through Willy Wonkas’ factory. Clad in white t-shirts, adults, kids and strollers run, walk, dance and play across up to 3 miles of absolute fun! Waves start every 3-5 minutes. Participants will run through the Foam Bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe!
Bubble-teers will also be there to help make sure you get your share of the frothy goodness. Each one of the Foam Bogs is represented by different colored foam. So what if you should accidentally “taste the whimsey?” They don’t taste as great as they are fun, but not to worry. The foam is 100% safe.
Event details and schedule
Please plan on arriving 30-45 minutes prior to your wave start to give yourself plenty of time to park, get your Bubble RUN™ swag, check in if needed, and to get situated.
Please be prompt for your Heat.
Once your heat has started, (the heat is the time you registered for) small waves will be released every 60-90 seconds. Your physical start time is based on a first come-first serve basis, so naturally you will start earlier if you enter the start chute earlier. The last wave within your heat will go out 30 minutes after your scheduled heat (i.e., if your registered heat is for 8AM, the last wave in your heat will leave at 8:30AM).
Bring some extra cash for parking and SWAG!
After you park, bring some extra cash! You'll want to check out our super sweet Bubble RUN store for t-shirts, tutus, and more!
There may be a parking charge of up to $20 for the event that is handled by the venue. With THOUSANDS of smiles present on race day, please have exact change and please don't cut your time too short before the race starts. Cram as many bubblers (legally) into your car to save some cash money money!

A portion of every registration goes to support their important work preserving critically endangered species like black rhinos and Grevy's zebra, and providing them with the best medical care possible.
Everyone who runs or walks will receive a Run Wild t-shirt. You can sign up for Run Wild as a 5k or 10k distance. Join us at the Zoo on Sunday, September 27 for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! The 5k and 10k races start just outside our South gate on Vilas Park Dr. The Kids Fun Run starts just outside our North gate.
**The 10k race start at 8am. The 5k run and walk starts at 8:15am. Participants walking or pushing strollers will be asked to line up in the back of the queue. The kid's fun run begins at 9:30am. **
Race Packets may be picked up before the race at the Zoo in our Guest Services building from 10am - 4pm starting Friday, September 11.
** We encourage participants to pick up their race packets early. We cannot guarantee shirt sizes if you wait until the day of the race to pick up your race packet.**
Ol Jogi is a 58,000 acres wildlife conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya. They focus on wildlife conservation by providing a safe habitat for indigenous and critically endangered species. Their wildlife rangers work closely with surrounding communities to assist them so they can derive support and benefits from this conservation work.

We are offering participants the option to purchase our official Red Tutu Trot 2025 T-Shirt as a fundraising item. Get an official Red Tutu Trot T-Shirt featuring this year's exclusive design and help us save lives at the same time! You can buy one for yourself, your friends, or anyone who runs the race with you! You can pre-order until September 1st, and there will be a limited quantity available for $25 at the registration table.
Our History
Cardiac on Campus was founded in 2016 after the untimely passing of Jon Derynda, a 20-year-old UW-Oshkosh student. His sister, Brittany, and cousin, Jessica Miller, were students at UW-Madison at the time. They wanted to intentionally reach out to younger individuals who do not normally view themselves as at-risk for sudden cardiac arrest. We started small and quickly grew, offering free CPR certification courses, placing AEDs in dorm buildings, and establishing the Red Tutu Trot. Seven years later, we have placed 11 AEDs, performed over 973 ECG screenings, detecting 37 abnormal rhythms, and certified over 2,100 people in CPR.
Racing Towards a Safer Community
For 90% of its victims, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is fatal. Increasing bystander CPR and AED knowledge while also offering preventive care, like electrocardiogram (EKG) screenings, is our best solution for lowering this grim statistic. Help Cardiac on Campus raise money for our initiatives and awareness about SCA! Thank you for your time and support!
