Polar Pals is a free event that is part of the Stafford Schools Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair. The Polar Pals Fun Run and 5K will include a 1/2 mile and a 1 mile for kids and 5K for kids and adults. The purpose of the race is to encourage a fun and healthy outdoor event during the chillier months, followed by an opportunity for hot chocolate, and indoor activities and resources offered by school division departments and community partners. Check-in opens at 11:00.
An awards ceremony will be held in the gymnasium at 1:15pm for the top runners!

Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.
Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.
Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.
Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.
Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

The run/walk will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 on the campus of Stafford Hospital and is part of the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix, a series of twelve races that take place in our region, and the Stafford Race Series, a set of five races to promote community engagement and wellness activities in the county. Race proceeds from this event benefit Stafford Hospital and help fund various programs and services at Stafford Hospital which help us meet our mission "to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve."

IMPORTANT
To ensure runner safety, unregistered runners, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and running with dogs are strictly prohibited. Non-compliance will result in removed from the racecourse and immediate disqualification. Course is not closed to traffic, headphones are discouraged. Baby joggers are permitted in the race and must start in the back.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen.
TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. It's a Stafford Halloween tradition! Run or walk with us on October 24th in the 11th Annual Halloween 5K and Monster Mile! Costumes are encouraged and prizes are given to the best costumes. All participants will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and custom finisher's medal as long as you register before the t-shirt deadline on October 10th. The Halloween 5K is the 4th race in the 2026 Stafford Race Series.
This race benefits Project Lifesaver with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition.
Monster Mile Parents: the path along Mine Road parallels the race course. If you want to run near your child, we ask that you run on the path unless your child is 4 & under.
Strollers are permitted in the 5K, but we ask that stroller participants start towards the back. Dogs are NOT permitted. There is no paper registration for this race - registration is online only.
We do not allow race transfers or refunds, so if you cannot make it to the race due to illness, travel, etc., please send a friend or family member to pick up your race packet.

Join us for our 10th year! Run or walk with us on December 12th on a scenic 5K course along the rolling hills of Mine Road in Stafford, VA. Kids 12 and under can join the fun in the 1 Mile Reindeer Run! Costumes are always encouraged, and we'll be awarding prizes to the best costumes at the awards ceremony. Lace up your shoes for a great cause, Gwyneth's Gift Foundation, and kick off the holiday season with us!

The Frosty 5K is the 5th and final race in the 2026 Stafford Race Series. If you have completed all 5 races in the Stafford Race Series, be sure to pick up your SRS swag after the race!
There is no paper registration for this race. Registration is online only. Strollers are permitted on the course, but stroller participants must start towards the back. Dogs are not permitted.
We do not allow race transfers or refunds, so if you cannot make it to the race due to illness, travel, etc., please send a friend or family member to pick up your race packet. We do offer the option to purchase race insurance during the registration process, so take advantage of that if you think you may need it!
