    2026 Massanutten HOO-HA! Enduro & Cross Country Mountain Bike Race

    Massanutten has partnered with Shenandoah Mountain Touring to offer a multi-stage Enduro that will test your abilities on some of the rocky and technical trails that Massanutten’s Western Slope is known for. The Enduro race combines each rider’s time across multiple stages. Whoever has the lowest overall time wins!

    Classes will do SIX stages with pedal transfers and shuttle assisted transfers as listed below.

    ENDURO FLOW -

    • It's gonna be a BIG SICK DAY!!!!

    • 6 STAGES!!

    • You MUST do the stages and transfers in order

    • You MUST be off stage 1 by 10:30 AM

    • Pizza at 2:00 PM for race participants (Enduro ONLY)

    Classes will do SIX stages with pedal transfers and shuttle assisted transfers as listed below.

    Drag Race (free) – 100 yard sprint on gravel road (ideal for Strider bikes and training wheels)

    Kids Green Loop Race ($10) – Approximately 1 mile with about a 50/50 mix of smooth single track and gravel road.

    10:30am | Race Start Main Event (classes will begin approximately 1.5 minutes apart)

    Camping: Primitive camping is allowed on Massanutten’s Western Slope Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026. No reservations necessary. All campers must sign a Camping Waiver prior to arrival. Please note there is no water, sewer, or power hook-ups available.

    Fires are not allowed, do not litter (bag your trash), keep pets on leash at all times, no dogs on course at any time, no disorderly conduct (loud music, behavior, etc.), and no fireworks.

    The Western Slope is patrolled by Resort Security. Massanutten Resort is not responsible for lost or damaged property. Massanutten Resort reserves the right to terminate camping at any time.

    Shower Usage for Registered Racers: Free shower usage for registered riders at the Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club (4160 Del Webb Drive - McGaheysville side). Please pick up a shower voucher at the Registration Tent and present it for admission to MFRC. NOTE: Please use the shower facility on the lower level of MFRC (not pool area). Open 8am-9pm on June 6-7, 2026.

    Food: No food or beverages will be available. Please plan accordingly.

    Class Prizes: We typically offer awards to the top 3 finishers (depending on class size). Pro class receives cash payout to vary based on pro field size.

    Pre-Riding: Massanutten’s Western Slope is available for HOO-HA! pre-riding one week prior to race day. Courses will not be fully marked for pre-riding since we are hosting multiple events. Massanutten’s Western Slope is private property and is not open to the public outside of the week prior to the race.     2026 Virginia State MTB Championship Weekend @ Massanutten

    Presented by RVA Racing Events & Massanutten Bike Park

    2 Days. 3 Disciplines. One Shot at Glory.

    Event runs Friday–Sunday, with optional Friday preview and packet pickup.

    The Western Slope and Bike Park come alive for Virginia’s premier MTB championship weekend.

    From lung-busting XCO to a brutal Over-the-Mountain Time Trial to full-send Downhill—this is where titles are earned.

    Race for the podium. Ride for the story. Stay for the weekend.


    WEEKEND OVERVIEW

    Friday – Course Preview + Packet Pickup

    Location: Western Slope – 4276 Happy Valley Rd, Keezletown, VA

    Ride the course, scope your lines, and watch it come together.

    4:00–7:00 PM – Early Check-In / Packet Pickup

    Skip the morning rush—grab your plate and get eyes on the course.

    Shuttle laps start at 4:00 PM


    Saturday – XCO + Uphill Time Trial

    Location: Western Slope

    Day Pass Included

    Expect rocks, roots, punchy climbs, and fast flow.

    Half-shell helmets required

    XCO

    • 8:00 AM – Check-In / Vendor Setup

    • 9:00 AM – First Wave (Non-USAC categories)

    • 10:30 AM – First Wave Awards

    • 12:00 PM – Second Wave (USAC State Championship)

    • 1:30 PM – Final Awards

    Course: ~4-mile laps of classic Western Slope terrain (laps vary by category)

    Over-the-Mountain Time Trial (NEW)

    Non-Championship Event

    • 2:00 PM – Check-In

    • 3:00 PM – Starts (1-minute intervals)

    • 4:30 PM – Awards

    A pure test of pacing and power—go out too hot, and the mountain collects.

    Same climb as last year, then down Blooming Laurel back to the start.

    Uphill Time Trial Format:

    Riders start individually at assigned times after registration closes.

    9:00 AM race participants will start first.

    Start times will be emailed and posted on Webscorer before race day.

    Riders must start at their assigned time.

    Sunday – Downhill @ Bike Park

    Location: Massanutten Bike Park (Ski Area)

    Format: One Run, One Shot

    No seeding, no second chances, your single timed run determines the result.

    Bike Park opens at 10:00am and the high speed lift will let you do plenty or practice runs.

    Required: Full-face helmet, front suspension, and disc brakes - rentals available

    Two Downhill Races

    World Cup Downhill – State Championship

    Big tech, rock sections, full track. Medals on the line.

    Macadamia XCDH (XC-Friendly Downhill) Non-Championship Event

    Fast, flowy, Western Slope-style trail—built for speed and fun.

    Pre-Ride: 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM

    Racing Saturday? Head over after XCO for optional pre-ride laps. Saturday lift tickets are available at a discount during registration.


    STATE CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS

    • USA Cycling Sanctioned

    • Titles awarded to Virginia residents only (annual USAC license required)

    • Out-of-state riders may podium but are not eligible for state titles

    • Championship categories require an annual license (no one-day upgrades)


    NON-CHAMPIONSHIP CATEGORIES (NEW)

    Not chasing a title? Skip the paperwork and still send it.

    • No annual USAC license required

    • One run per rider — fastest time counts

    • No second runs or combined scoring

    • This is a mountain venue—weather can change quickly

    • Events run rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe

    • Helmets required for all disciplines (full-face required for DH)

    • Lift tickets for DH available during registration (Sunday required unless season pass holder)

    • Respect the course, other riders, and event staff—ride hard, ride clean
