Four Weekends of Explorer Camp in 2026!
Cutaway Bike Camp is excited to again offer our Explorer Camp - catering to our littlest riders focusing on fun, exploration, and friendship. Hosted at Charlottesville's beginner-friendly Triangle Trails, campers will learn basic trail navigation, bike skills, and will explore the park over four weekly sessions. The Cutaway Explorer Camp is open to girls and boys ages 5 to 7
The Camp will take place from 9:00am to 11:30am on the following dates:

To participate, riders should have a trail-capable bike with a minimum wheel size of 20" and hand brakes (no strider bikes or training wheels). Riders should feel comfortable riding on their own and have an interest in trying trail riding. Activities will include games, creek and trail exploration, beginner bike skill instructions, bike decorating, and an introduction to riding trail obstacles.
Drop-off and pick-up will take place in the Brooks Family YMCA parking lot.

Taking place on Miller School of Albemarle's scenic 1100 acre campus which boasts over 18 miles of student-built trails, riders will be able to develop their cycling skills in a fun, supportive environment with some of the area's top mountain bikers. The Youth Weekend Camp is geared towards beginner to lower-intermediate level riders and attendees will spend two days building their confidence on a bicycle while enjoying time with their peers. Specialized games and skills sessions will be led by experienced coaches, and all riders will have the opportunity to apply their new-found skills on some of Albemarle County's best trails. The camp is open to girls and boys ages 7 to 12 who are interested in cycling and looking to learn more about the sport while having a great time on their bikes.
The individual weekends are dedicated to boys or girls.
Drop Off: 8:30-9:00 AM
Pick Up: 3:00-3:30 PM

For youth riders between the ages of 8 and 14 who have already attended the Youth Devo Weekend Camps and are ready for the next step, as well as young, experienced riders who aren’t sure if they're ready for the overnight Mountain Bike Camps. This Youth Weekday Camp is intended for intermediate level riders who are ready to spend more time riding and applying their mountain bike skills to more technical trails. Not sure you are ready for this camp? We suggest attending the Youth Weekend Camp to brush up on your skills and see how you feel.
Over the course of the week, campers will have the opportunity to experience more of the amazing trails in the Charlottesville area. These will include, but are not limited to:

After drop-off at Miller School of Albemarle each morning, instructors will lead a unique mountain bike skills drill, and then the trail riding begins! Depending on the day, this will either involve diving into the Miller School’s expansive network of campus trails and skills parks, or loading bikes into a dedicated cycling trailers and driving Miller School’s buses to an area trailhead. After lunch each day, there will be more time for riding and the option to jump in the Miller School pool or lake before pick-up. There is a certified Athletic Trainer and Life Guard in attendance for every ride and water-based activity.

2026 Cal Tri Charlottesville - 8.30.26. Swim, bike and run in Charlottesville located in Central Virginia approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and 70 miles northwest of Richmond. This race starts with a pool swim which is very beginner friendly for athletes who are testing the waters for the first time.
12 EVENT OPTIONS. 6 Sprint distance events (Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400 yard Swim & 5K Run) and 6 Youth Sprint distance events (Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400 yard Swim & 5K Run).
