Join Partners in Health Engage at UVA to raise money for Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone! Tuberculosis is a curable disease, yet every year millions of people die worldwide because they do not have access to treatment. In particular, Sierra Leone has been subject to a history of exploitation, leading to poor health outcomes to this day. Our club has pledged to raise $4500 this year to support PIH's tuberculosis programs in Sierra Leone. This will assist Partners in Health in supplying treatment courses for TB, chest x-rays for diagnosis, nutritional support for patients, among other things. If you are on board, come run (or jog, wog, or walk!) with us on 4/4 at 9 AM. We have tons of prizes for top finishers and raffle winners from local businesses, so we hope you will join us for a morning of fun fighting TB!
ALL proceeds from this race will go to Partners in Health.
Race info:
Race is starting at Newcomb Hall. Please arrive by 8:30 to ensure adequate time for check-in of all runners. Prizes from local Charlottesville business sponsors will be available for age groups: 18-25, 26-40, >40, and include gift cards to breweries, yoga, shopping, food and more!

Remote Area Medical (RAM) at UVA is excited to announce the fourth annual RAM @ UVA 5K on Sunday, March 30, 2025!
RAM is a nonprofit organization that provides free healthcare to those in need through mobile clinics offering medical, dental, and vision services to underserved and uninsured individuals. Since it was founded in 1985, RAM’s Corps consists of more than 212,000 volunteers. Licensed dental, vision, and medical professionals at these clinics have treated more than 940,000 individuals, delivering more than $200 million worth of free care. More information about the organization can be found on their website, at https://www.ramusa.org/.
As a chapter of the organization, our goal is to promote that mission and host a biennial free clinic in Fishersville, VA. This is a big dream, and we will need your help! We successfully hosted our inaugural clinic in November 2022, the first to be organized entirely by a collegiate chapter, where we provided over 500 patients with $250,000 in medical care. Our second clinic in April 2024 achieved similar success, serving over 400 patients over one weekend and providing the equivalent of $225,000 in free healthcare. The cost of hosting our own clinic is approximately $25,000, and we continue to work actively in our community to raise these funds. Whether you decide to participate in person or virtually, all proceeds from the race will go towards funding for our next clinic to help bring the mission of RAM closer to the Charlottesville community!
All in-person participants will have their timing results available online after the race and will receive refreshments and a T-shirt (first 60 sign-ups) on race day while supplies last. The top three finishers will also receive a prize donated by local Charlottesville businesses. Bib and T-shirt pickup will begin at 12:30 pm on race day. Participants must start the 5K by 1:15 PM and finish no later than 2:30 PM.
Price to register will increase after March 2, 2025 so make sure to sign up as soon as you can!
See you on race day!

Zeta Tau Alpha’s chapter at the University of Virginia has hosted our annual Run for Life 5K in Charlottesville, Virginia every year for the past 28 years. Our race benefits the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation to fund scholarships, educational programming, leadership development and our fight against breast cancer, which includes our partnerships with Bright Pink, the NFL, the American Cancer Society, and locally with the UVA Breast Care Center. In years past, we have attracted approximately 1000 participants and raised nearly $30,000 for breast cancer each year. This race means so much to our chapter members, UVA, and the Charlottesville community.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States. In order to continue to raise awareness for the significance of this disease, inspire hope for a cure, and maintain our education efforts, we will be hosting this year's race at Madison Bowl (adjacent to UVA Grounds, located between Rugby Rd and Madison Ln) on April 12th.
If you're not able to make it in person we invite you to run the race in your hometown. Simply upload your times on this website and you will be ranked on the leaderboard.

On Saturday, April 25th at 9AM the University of Virginia School of Medicine will host the 43rd Annual 5K Benefiting Camp Holiday Trails. We are excited to welcome runners/walkers to participate in this race around UVA Grounds and raise funds for Camp Holiday Trails. All registrants will receive a T-shirt (if registered before April 22nd), a raffle ticket, and refreshments at our finish line celebration!
About Camp Holiday Trails:
A Camp for Children and Teens with Medical Needs
Since 1974, Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) has been a place of empowerment, growth, and joy for children and teens with medical needs across the Mid-Atlantic. Located in Charlottesville, VA, our camp welcomes kids with qualifying diagnoses ages 6-17, along with their siblings, to experience life-changing moments in an inclusive, supportive environment.
We offer diagnosis-specific sessions, mixed-diagnosis sessions, overnight and day camp options, and year-round programming to meet the unique needs of our campers and families. Whether conquering our challenge course, adding milestones to the “Book of Firsts,” or making wishes during the Wishboat Ceremony, campers grow, thrive, and create lasting memories.
Our mission is to provide transformative experiences that help campers manage their diagnoses, build friendships, and grow as individuals. Traditional camp activities and skill-building are woven into every moment. Our horseback riding program, for instance, uses adaptive equipment when needed to ensure all campers can participate in this beloved activity.
To prioritize health and safety, we provide 24/7 medical care during Camp with dedicated staff ready to support every camper's unique needs.
As a nonprofit, we are committed to accessibility. The true cost of a transformative week at Camp is $2,000 per camper, but thanks to generous donors, we’re proud to offer a nonrefundable camper fee of just $100. This ensures every eligible family can benefit from this incredible experience.
Register for Summer Camp, apply to be a Cabin Counselor, or learn more about volunteering on our Med Team by visiting campholidaytrails.org.
