Registration will be open until the race begins, but the deadline to get a guaranteed T-shirt of your size for the race is by March 17th midnight.
Runners who register after March 15 at midnight may experience a delay in receiving their medal—expect delivery up to 2-3 weeks after race day.
What to Expect the Day of the Event
Please be sure to wear your race shirt on race day!
Check in time on race day will be 7AM!
There will be free parking available at the Main Pavilion at Sugar Land Memorial Park. Overflow parking will be at the South Meadow Pavilion. We recommend carpooling.
We will also be having a raffle on race day! Tickets will be $10, so please bring cash if you are interested in participating.

"Volunteer then Run" is our highly discounted registration to help with Race Day and Pre-Race Day Packet-Pick-Up, Set-Up and Tear Down. For you speedsters You can run and help with Award Distribution, Finishline photos and Finisher Tent. You can participate in Either the 5k or 10k-Relay events. Simply show up an hour and a half before race start to help and about 15 minutes before race starts, you can join everyone at the starting line for pre-race warmup. Then after you run the race and recover you get to help us hand out awards and refreshments!!

The course is a single loop with almost all right turns, and it's widely regarded as one of the most beautiful courses in the Houston Area. The 47th Annual Lone Star Stampede
Start your 2026 with purpose, pride, and the power of community. The 47th annual Lone Star Stampede is a Houston tradition that unites runners, walkers, University of Texas alumni, and supporters for a day of fitness, fun, and giving back.
Hosted by the Texas Exes Houston Chapter, this annual event features a 10K, 5K, and Kids 1K Fun Run, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels.
More than just a race, the Lone Star Stampede is about making an impact—proceeds fund scholarships for Houston area students pursuing their dreams of higher education at The University of Texas at Austin. As a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Texas Exes Houston Chapter is committed to fostering the next generation of Longhorn leaders while strengthening the bonds of our Houston community.
