    Please join us on March 7th for the 12th Annual Race the Helix-Upstate, inspired by one family's desire to raise awareness for genetic disorders and funding for genetic research! All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation to support genetics services, testing, and research for families impacted by genetic disorders.

    Please see the information below regarding our live and virtual events!

    Live event details:

    • Saturday, March 7th at Lake Conestee Nature Park

    • 5K trail run with chip timing (course can accommodate strollers and wheelchairs)

    • 1 mile paved course for walkers, runners, strollers, and wheelchairs

    • Pre-packaged snacks, water, and coffee will be provided

    • Check-in will start at 8:00 on the day of the race

    • Any participant who wishes to register onsite will need to do so through their personal phone/device, onsite registration will be open until the start of the event

    • Award Divisions

    • Top male and female finisher overall

    • Top male and female in the following age groups:

    • 12 and under

    • 13-19

    • 20-29

    • 30-39

    • 40-49

    • 50-59

    • 60-69

    • 70 and older

    Virtual event details:

    • Run or walk from anywhere!

    Entry fees for live and virtual events:

    • $25 for 5K (t-shirt not included)

    • Free for 1 mile Walk The Helix (t-shirt not included)

    • Long sleeve t-shirts will be available for purchase for an additional $15 when you register. Please register before February 14th to guarantee your shirt and size.

    • If you participate in the virtual event and purchase a t-shirt, you will need to pick up your shirt from a Greenwood Genetic Center location. Further instructions will be provided to make arrangements for t-shirt pick up.

This Family Fun Walk/Run promises to be a festive event for the entire family. Come out and join us for the race, or be with us to help cheer participants on!

    Packet Pickup Time: Saturday, March 21 @ 8:00 a.m.

    Race Start Time: Saturday, March 21 @ 8:30 a.m.

    Course: This race follows a 5K route on paved surface trails and boardwalks, in partnership with Conestee Nature Preserve. Click here to preview the course map.

    Cost: $30 per person

    Registration Deadline: Registrations will continue to be accepted until the day of the race, March 21.

    *T-shirt is included for all registrants who sign up by March 9 and afterward until t-shirt inventory is depleted. If the website allows you to select your preferred shirt size during registration, shirts are available. Once shirts are sold out, you will not be able to select your size.

    Please note, all Lower School student participants must be accompanied by an adult on the course. Strollers are welcome. No pets, please.

Whether you're sprinting side by side with your canine companion, strolling in support of a noble cause, or participating in the race with family and friends without a pet, this event promises loads of fun for everyone. Tails & Trails isn't just about the thrill of the run; it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our community animals. All proceeds play a pivotal role in empowering Animal Care to extend assistance to homeless animals, while also bolstering programs aimed at reducing the number of animals entering the shelter. These initiatives include affordable and targeted spay/neuter programs, as well as a wide range of programs designed to provide resources that enable animals to stay within the loving confines of their homes.

    Following the race, indulge in the festivities at our vibrant vendor village, let your pup revel in the puppy pools, and stay for the dog-gone awesome award ceremony.

    We can't do it alone! Greenville County Animal Care is the LARGEST open admission animal shelter in South Carolina. We help over 7,000 animals each year in our shelter and assist hundreds of families stay together through our pet support services and low-cost spay/neuter and veterinary clinic. 100% of your fundraising efforts will go directly to support our lifesaving programs.     Mountains to Main Street is a fast Half Marathon & 5K ending on the TD Stage in downtown Greenville, SC. Join us for the tenth annual Mountains to Main Street Race Festival on the Swamp Rabbit Trail with an amazing finish in downtown Greenville.

    The cut off time in the 5K is 1 hour 30 minutes. The cut off time in the Half Marathon is 4 Hours. Please make sure you can complete the race in the designated time.

Due to supply chain issues we aren't offering jackets at this time. However if runners are interested in doing a shirt order then we can check on that availability and additional costs.
