New Racers: New racers are always welcome. If you are a new racer and/or it is your first time at the series, please feel free to contact the race director with any questions or ask for assistance during registration. The race series is a welcoming environment, and there are many experienced racers at the series who are happy to assist new racers.
The Courses: The races is run on a dedicated cycling track. It has smooth pavement and is very level. It has several corners and flows well.
Licenses and Rules: A USA Cycling license is NOT required. All USA Cycling Rules for helmets apply. No Aero Bars.

This finale event brings together participants from Race4Chase programs across both states to celebrate their hard work, determination, and confidence gained throughout the summer. It’s more than a race, it’s a powerful celebration of youth achievement, healthy living, and community support.
While this event is exclusively for Race4Chase participants and not open to public registration, we need enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a safe, smooth, and unforgettable experience for every child crossing that finish line.
The Ocean State Crossing draws top Challengers from across the nation to set out on a 15 mile paddle & row navigation challenge across iconic Rhode Island Sites - Fort Adams, Newport Harbor :: Point Judith Lighthouse. This event hosts paddlers & rowers of multiple disciplines, fundraising & celebrating Summer Safe Ocean State culture!
The Ocean State Crossing end points are Fort Adams Beach In Newport Harbor & Roger Wheeler State Beach in Point Judith. The Crossing direction will be based on weather conditions with the preferred route being Point Judith to Newport.
The Ocean State Crossing is an event to celebrate Ocean Culture & support the mission of Summer Safe Ocean State L3C Organization (organization which prioritizes mission over profits & at all times further accomplishments of charitable or educational purposes). Summer Safe Ocean State L3C is committed to fostering awareness and impact toward safe, coastal recreation. We create and support initiatives which positively and directly address Drowning Prevention, Cardiac Health/Cancer Prevention & Coastal Sustainability in The Ocean State.
The Ocean State Crossing is the newest race in The Summer Safe Ocean State Event Series. Joining Waterman Eco-Challenge & Summer Safe Ocean State 5K/10K to round out a dynamic coastal recreation experience this summer!

Parking & Other Facilities
Parking is limited, so make an effort to car-pool or arrange rides with friends or family. Access to the registration tent is through the Old Silver public beach.
The closest parking is at the Old Silver Beach public parking lots. These lots are first-come first-served. The Old Silver Beach resident lot will be open early for swimmers that are Falmouth residents with beach parking stickers only. The dirt lot, just across the street from the resident lot, will be open to all for the event. Anyone wishing to stay past the completion of the event will need to pay the parking fee.
David’s Old Silver Swim is an annual open ocean swim along the beautiful shoreline of Old Silver Beach, in North Falmouth, Cape Cod. Join us in the clear waters of Buzzards Bay for our 16th annual charity swim. Choose either a 2-loop, 1-mile swim; a 1-loop, 0.5-mile swim; or a non-competitive 1-loop 0.5 mile fun swim. For accurate race results, each swimmer will be provided with chip timing technology.
This event honors the memory of David Garber, who passed away in October, 2023 after living with ALS for 14 years. His spirit, friendship, determination and love was an inspiration to countless people who got to know him, from near and far.

A summer party with some running. Come join us at the Crandall's Pavillion in Tolland on August 15 for our Summer Fatass event. The music will be playing, the grill will be grilling, and the Striders will be striding. We'll be providing pancakes in the morning, burgers and dogs during the day, as well as drinks. The Shenipsit Striders trail running club was started in 1975 by a small group of friends in northcentral Connecticut that wanted to get together for weekly runs in the woods. Today the club has grown to include members from all corners of Connecticut and the New England region, with all abilities represented from new runners to experienced ultramarathoners.Our races serve to give back to the trail community by donating to Connecticut trail stewardship and land use programs. Now in its ninth edition, the CCAP's Summer Youth Cyclocross Training Camp has helped over 100 junior cyclists prepare for the upcoming cyclocross season by combining skills and technique development in a fun and supportive environment. Youth riders will develop skills to handle all of New England’s cyclocross challenges, including run-ups, dismounts and remounts, barriers, off-camber sections... and more!

The camp is open to boys and girls, ages 9–18, of all experience levels. Camp staff will ensure every camper is prepared for their CX-season goals. No rider will be left unchallenged, overwhelmed, or under-encouraged.

CAMP SCHEDULE:
Camp hours will be roughly from 8 AM to 4 PM each day, packed full of skills, drills, and a mock racing experience. Campers will receive the final schedule in their emails the week before camp. Parents, please make sure you put YOUR email into your child's BikeReg account to make sure you receive all updates and important notices. The CTCX camp is a drop-off day camp. After check-in each day, parents will be asked to leave, and are encouraged to explore the downtown Southington area nearby during camp hours.
OPEN TRAINING RACE FOR ALL SUNDAY AT 2:30
We will host an Open training race Sunday afternoon for all to attend. Adults, kids, everyone!
Results will be given, but will not be turned in to USAC. This will be similar to our Rocky Hill Training Series, just toned down a bit since it's still early in the season. It's just $10 to come out and get your race on.
CAMP FEES:
$225 for the first 10 campers that register, $249 after that.
All campers are required to hold a 2025 USA Cycling junior race license.
