Enjoy a scenic 5K race that combines a course through the 40 acre estate and some neighboring roads. More than a race...families and running groups create lifelong memories...combine fitness, fun, and wine!

Race Features:

  • Chip-timed 5K Race starts at 9 AM. Live-streamed results from professional timer.

  • Amenities for all participants: Complimenary Glass of Wine, Run the Vineyards Stemless Wine Glass, and High Quality Tech Shirt included. Women's, Men's/Unisex, and Youth sizes or upgrade to a Women's Racerback Tank Top for $5 extra. Men's Tank available for no added fee. *Please register by July 26 to guarantee your first choice. Many extras are ordered and available while supplies last after July 26.

  • Souvenir Finisher medals are available for $8 extra during registration, or $10 on race day.

  • Well groomed and well marked course.

  • Course marshals, water station, and finish line with water and bananas

  • Awards to the Top Male and Female Overall and Age group Winners (Ages 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, every 10 yrs.)

  • Besides the 5K, all participants will enjoy the post race party featuring live music, award winning wines, and food truck on the pristine grounds. Participants will receive a tech shirt, souvenir wine glass, and complimentary glass of wine. The event includes free photos and parking too!

Race Day Schedule:

  • Check-in: 8:30-9:30am

  • 8:50am: Race Announcements

  • 9am: 5K Begins

  • 9:30am - Noon: Post race party featuring award winning wines, musician Jeff Przech, and food truck.

  • 10:15am: Awards

  • Noon: Winery remains open for daily offerings

Walkers and children are welcome to participate. Registration required to be on course for safety of all participants. We kindly request 1 hour time limit for completing the 5K. Spectators are welcome!

    Presented by Hartford Healthcare, The Glastonbury River Runners offer this 9 week training program to encourage local friends to get up and move! Let us help you reach your goal of completing a 5K (3.1 miles). Through this program, we are here to offer you group support, motivation and fun along the way! Not only will you complete your goal, but you also will meet some fantastic running partners in the GRR and HHC family. You can do this and we're here to help!

    Led by Road Runners Club of America Level II Certified Coaching and numerous volunteer guides, our goal is to assure that every runner feels included and receives individual instruction and companionship on every run. Coaches will be spread throughout the group to support ALL pace levels. All coaches are previous graduates of the program and current members of the Glastonbury River Runners.

    The Get Ready to Run program will meet two days a week, primarily stepping off from Fleet Feet in Glastonbury located at 63 Hebron Avenue (with a few other locations pre-determined during the program).

    Saturday sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m.

    Thursday sessions begin at 6 p.m.

    Training will be held rain (unless there is thunder & lightning) or shine. Weekly emails will be provided with details on the goals you should have for the current week.

    Participants will train at the pace that they feel comfortable with to achieve their weekly goals. This training is about YOU accomplishing YOUR goal of completing the 5k distance at YOUR own pace.

    Additional training segments on your own (or with a friend) are recommended. Doing the suggested workouts is what will help you successfully reach your goal.

    Our training program includes FREE entry into the Highland Park Market Firecracker 5K race on June 28 from Rotary Field in Glastonbury. Celebrate completing the journey with friends!

    All you have to do is register, show up, and we will get you to the finish!

    The GRR Family looks forward to getting to know you, supporting you and cheering you on as you cross that finish line!

    To better keep the group focused and assure we have the proper amount of coaches to assist you along the way, registration for this session is limited to 50 runners. Get your spot early!

    As with any exercise program please consult with your physician prior to beginning.

    Come run/walk/jog the 'sweet' trails of Giddings Park in Franklin, CT on 5/2, National Truffle Day! This chocolate truffle themed 5K race is open to all ages. (Dogs are welcome!) In addition to the all ages race, there will also be a "Mini Chocolate Chip" 800 meter (.5 mile) fun run for kids 12 and under. The kids fun run will start at 9:00am with the 5K Trail Run following at 9:30am. Bib pick up will be on race day only and is located at Giddings Park from 7:45am to 9:00am. Same day registration is available; credit card only. All 5K finishers receive a custom designed medal.

    Register by 4/17/26 for early bird pricing of $30 for the 5K. After 4/17/26, price increases to $35.

    5K course is three loops around the trails of Giddings Park with one large hill each loop. Total elevation gain is 235ft.

    Awards for Overall Male and Female finishers. Additionally, prizes will be awarded for male and female age division winners.

    Bib pick up and race location: 191 Pond Road, North Franklin, CT. Sponsored by the Franklin Elementary School PTO, Inc. All funds raised will support FES PTO's efforts for PTO-sponsored programs at Franklin Elementary School.

    1. The “Moore Trail” (9.2 miles) - USATF-CT Mountain/Trail/Ultra Series Race

    Test your endurance on the full George and Rosemary Moore Trail Loop, a stunning 9.2-mile course that weaves through Mount Archer's trails. You'll run the loop in a counterclockwise direction, taking in trails on both the north and south sides of Mount Archer Road. This challenging route combines natural beauty with a rewarding sense of accomplishment.

    1. The “Sprint” (3 miles)

    Looking for a shorter, fast-paced adventure? The Sprint race covers a 3-mile loop on the northern side of Mount Archer. It’s the perfect way to experience the trails while keeping it quick and fun.
