Join us for the Teresa J. Martin Memorial 5K Walk/Run, a meaningful community event held in loving memory of Teresa J. Martin, who passed away from ALS in October 2023.
Teresa was an avid walker who
found joy, strength, and peace in every step she took. This 5K honors her love of walking while bringing our community together to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against ALS.
Whether you choose to run, walk, or stroll, every step you take helps support ALS research and services for individuals and families affected by this devastating disease. This event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels—just as Teresa would have wanted.
Come walk in her memory, celebrate her life, and help us move closer to a world without ALS.
💙 Together, we walk for Teresa. Together, we walk for a cure.

In 2021, we dedicated the race to Ron Shields as he was always involved with running either with the road runners and help restart and coach the cross-country team at West Perry. In honor of him, we have renamed the Perry 5000 the Ron Shields Perry 5000.
The 5k starts at 9:30am and the mile walk, and fun runs starts after the 5k is finished. Stick around afterwards for the street fair.

Welcome to Adventure Racing! The Greenhorn AR, now in our 11th edition, was created to offer competitors a gateway into the sport of adventure racing. This 4 hour sprint adventure race was designed
with the beginner in mind, but fun for everyone no matter the skill or experience level! While there is significant challenge built in, this event is fun and highly achievable for the novice racer. The navigation is straight forward and the maps that we provide are excellent. The mountain biking takes racers over gravel roads, some pavement, and semi-technical singletrack trails. Finally, the paddling takes place on a clear lake.

Location: Rocky Gap State Park, Flintstone, MD
Start Time: 11:00am
Total Distance/Time: Roughly 15 miles, 4 hours time limit

A huge shoutout to Jeff and Jeremy from The Ultra Running Guys. They organized 'The Final Countdown' in NC for 4 years. I reached out to them and they have allowed us to "steal" their idea! Bringing
this fun and challenging race to WV!!!!
You are invited to this unique race experience that has something for everyone. From new runners to experienced ultra runners, the start will be a cinch. But the longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you. And all we ask is that you demand the most of yourself, holding off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.
The course is a 1.33 mile loop located on the property of Amani Brewery. Their grass path is taken care of and mowed all year round. It is a smooth, fast trail, with a small hill or two. Every lap, all runners leave together and must complete the loop in the allotted time. If you finish the loop before the Countdown completes, you can take a break, grab a drink, check your social media, or whatever it is you want to do.
One thing though. Each lap will get slightly faster than the last. We will start with the first lap at 20 minutes (15:02/mile pace), and for each successive lap the countdown will be 20 seconds shorter, forcing you to go a little bit faster each lap. If you don't make it back before the Countdown reaches "0", your adventure is over. But we would love for you to hang out and root on the remaining competitors. The race ends when only one runner returns before the completion of "The Final Countdown."
To get the most out of yourself, you will need to plan to be conservative enough so that you can have fuel in the tank to turn the jets on in the end.
If you are ready for your Countdown to begin, register today.

This year the campground area will be at the swimming lake parking lot and will be open Friday, September 18 to Sunday September 20. Early set up will be allowed the evening of Thursday, September 17. This camping area is a paved and gravel parking lot suitable for car camping and tent camping. This area can also handle pull behind campers and RV's as well, BUT there is no hook up and NO dump station. Camping will be only $50 for the whole weekend and is first come, first served with sites. We do need an estimate of the number of campers, so please note if camping for the event. Registration for camping will be at the Lodge Front Desk. Just tell them you are there for the Enduro race. The beach bath house will be open for the campers, so HOT showers will be available.
For those unfamiliar with the area, Cacapon State Park is located on US Route 522 at the Virginia-West Virginia state line. It is 30 minutes north of Winchester, Va., 15 minutes south of Berkeley Springs, WV, and 20 minutes west of Martinsburg, WV. This is an easy drive from the DMV, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and everywhere in Va and WV.
Like what you are seeing us do at Cacapon? If so, please donate through the non-profit Foundation so we can continue to develop the trail system. The park has dedicated nearly 1,000 acres to mountain biking and we are about to kick the build into high gear! We will debut the new skills park this year for everyone to enjoy with much more to come! Every dollar helps! Here's the link to make a donation: https://www.crspf.org/mountain-biking/

Franklin County Cyclists presents MICHAUX GRVL 2026
The Franklin County Cyclists are excited to once again host Michaux GRVL for 2026, and are offering 4 awesome routes
with a fun scavenger hunt on all courses for everyone!
We are continuing to partner with 2 great local groups for this event; Friends of Michaux State Forest and Bulldog Bike Park. Proceeds from this year's event will be distributed to both groups, and each will be active participants in the event by running aid stations and providing volunteers along the route.
Our 2026 Beneficiaries:
MICHAUX GRVL 2026 is a ride and race to be taken at your own pace. We will be offering timing on each route for those interested in their personal statistics, and results will be posted on our website following the event. The fast may go fast & the slow may go slow. The routes we've got on tap take you through some wonderful scenery, so stop and take it in!
We recommend the use of gravel bikes with tires of at least 35mm for any route since some stretches of road can be chunky and there is a risk of punctures with smaller tires on the downhill sections of the courses.
There will be no day-of registrations, and all participants must complete their registrations on BikeReg prior to the close of the event registration. We are coordinating a pre-race packet pick up on Friday evening 6-8pm September 25, 2026 with Michaux Brewing Co. (11657 Buchanan Trail E, Waynesboro, PA 17268). Day-of packet pick up will be available prior to the start - we STRONGLY encourage 100 mile riders to pick their packet up the day prior.
--THESE NOTES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS WE EVALUATE NEW COURSES FOR 2026 BUT SIMILAR FORMAT TO FOLLOW, CHECK BACK SOON!--

45 Mile Start Time : 9:30am

AID STATION AND FINISH CUTOFF TIMES
While we want everyone to have a great time and finish the ride, we also must take into consideration the length of time our volunteer SAG motos are out on the course. Due to this, we will be STRICTLY enforcing cutoff times for Aid Stations, Food Truck, and the Finish Line.
All Riders must cross the timing mat at the start of the ride and completion of their chosen route in order to receive an accurate ride time The Ride Organizers will do their best to ensure that all riders who start the ride are accounted for at the end, but it is the responsibility of the rider to make sure they either cross the mat or check in at the registration table at the completion of the ride.
BIG FLAT AID STATION CUTOFF - 12PM
PINE GROVE FURNACE AID STATION CUTOFF - 1:30PM
TEABERRY MINI STATION CUTOFF (100mi route only) - 2PM

GPS files for each route along with cue sheets will be available through an online link. It's strongly recommended that you use a GPS bike computer and load the files as course markings may be inaccurate due to other forces of nature (and humans).
If you need to coordinate an earlier start time, please contact us - you will not be eligible for race placing but we can still give you a time.
This is a rain or shine event and no refunds will be given, so please plan accordingly when signing up by using the BikeReg insurance if you have an eligible reason for a refund.

The 3M Challenge will be a timed ride from the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (WMSR) Station in Cumberland, MD, to the western end of the train platform at the Frostburg, MD, Depot.
• Individuals and teams (up to 6 riders) will depart Cumberland every 5 minutes, beginning as early as 9:00 AM, from the water spout on the Scenic Railway train platform at the train station at Canal Place.
The route is on Ride with GPS. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38734043
• Ebikes - are NOT included in this event
Rider Information

Purpose of the Event
Mountain Maryland Trails is a volunteer organization that collaborates with the Allegany County Government, the Great Allegheny Passage Conservancy, partner organizations, and community volunteers to manage the Maryland section of the Great Allegheny Passage trail. The efforts of the board and volunteers focus on maintaining a network of trails that promotes wellness, sustainable economic development, environmental stewardship, and connection to cultural heritage.
For over 30 years, the organization has played a vital role in developing the Great Allegheny Passage trail and implementing various trail improvement and safety projects, including the recently completed Borden Tunnel Lighting Project. What began as a project to reclaim a defunct rail line between Cumberland, MD, and Pittsburgh, PA, has evolved into a trail that welcomes 1.5 million visitors annually, generates approximately $800,000 in economic impact per mile of trail each year, and supports 1,393 jobs with a total labor income of $52.6 million.
Furthermore, the event promotes the Great Allegheny Passage Trail, which attracts tourists from around the world while also being a beloved spot for the local community.

Join the Pennsylvania Environmental Council for the 8th annual Public Lands Ride!
The ride is a non-competitive mixed-surface event that will take place at Black Moshannon State Park and the
surrounding Moshannon State Forest on Saturday, September 26, 2026. It is a celebration of bikes, community, and public lands!
There will be three different marked courses -- 65 mile, 42 mile, and 22 mile --- all of which feature rolling climbs from rhododendron-filled stream valleys to open plateau views and a mix of gravel and snowmobile trail terrain. The 22-mile route is a great option for anyone newer to the gravel scene as the climbs are mostly very mellow and it's almost entirely smooth, maintained gravel roads. Meanwhile, the 62-mile route offers tougher climbs, more chunky bits and all the highlights of the area. And of course the 45-mile route is a nice middle ground. Because most of the courses do include some grassier and chunkier terrain, we recommend tires at least 35mm, preferably 40-45mm. E-bikes are permitted but must adhere to DCNR's guidelines for e-bike use on trails, which can be found here.
There will be aid stations every 15-20 miles that will be stocked with real food, as well as a post-ride meal and beer/non-alcoholic beverages. All courses will be marked at turns and intersections.
More details to come and in the meantime, check out this video from the 2022 event!
Sponsorship opportunities are available – you can find more info here or contact Molly Kestner at [email protected].
All proceeds benefit the work of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC), which facilitates trail planning, land conservation, outdoor recreation, reforestation, water protection and more across the state. Learn more about PEC's work on improving gravel riding resources in Pennsylvania here.
