This 5K fun run/walk is being held in memory of Max Schollenberger, a 12-year-old Annville resident, who died after experiencing horrendous abuse and neglect. His death rocked the community and galvanized residents to do something substantive to honor Max and ensure he is remembered. This race provides an opportunity to help heal the community and to support The UPMC Child Advocacy Center of Central PA, an organization whose sole purpose is to treat children who have experienced abuse.
This is not a timed event. The focus of the run is to honor and remember Max.
We are back and bigger than ever! After last year's sell-out crowd, we are adding a competitive bracket (must run under 7:30 minutes per mile) that will start at 8:10, our full kick-off at 8:40 am, and our family fun-run/walk at 9:50 am.
This indoor 5K takes place entirely inside the mall! It will give runners and walkers the rare chance to run the mile‑long loop of Arundel Mills without braving the cold!
Choose between completing multiple loops for the full 5K or opting for our family‑friendly fun run or walk, featuring a shorter distance perfect for kids and new runners. This race takes place before the mall opens! It is not intented to be a course to set a personal best, but we can promise it will be a fun and unique one!
All finishers will receive a medal!
This race is hard capped. If you can still sign up, there is space! Once we hit our cap, we will have to welcome you next year! Strollers are only allowed during the Fun Run/Walk
Sunday Morning Check-In Time:
Elite Runners: 7:30 AM
5K: 8:00 AM
Fun Run/Walk: 9:10 AM
Post-Race Activities!
After you cross the finish line, stick around for post‑race activities, including fitness demos, recovery stretches, training tips, and workout ideas for all ages.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the amazing organization- Girls on the Run, the Greater Chesapeake Chapter!
Packet Pick-Up
Bib, swag, and shirts will be handed out before the race! If you have not received it, please arrive by 8:00 am. If you have already picked up your packet, you will only need to pick up your racing timer that goes around your ankle in the morning. EVERYONE needs to pick up their racing timer.
Reminder- this is a cupless race! Waters will not be handed out. We have dozens of water fountains on site and want to ensure the floors stay as dry as possible. Please bring a container with a lid for your water.
Swag and Giveaways
All participants receive both a finisher's medal and a shirt! Check in for the swag bag our retailers and partners provide, including giveaways, raffles, promos, and discounts at Arundel Mills stores! Shirts are not guaranteed for runners who sign up after 2/16.
Hydration Station
In order to keep the floors as dry as possible, there will only be a water station at the start/finish line that racers will pass as they go around the mall. While water/drinks are allowed on the course, there will be no water cups while on the lap, except for water at the food court. The mall has several restrooms available throughout the course that have water fountains next to them. Running with a cup without a lid is not permitted, but running with water or other fluids is permitted as long as it closes (water bottle, camelbak, sports bottle, etc.)
What to Bring
Your own water, bags, and gear are fine to bring! We will have waves starting/finishing in the food court that will provide plenty of tables and chairs to store your items. We cannot allow pets, selfie sticks, glass, or weapons. Note that neither the mall nor Peake Events is responsible for lost belongings.
Parking and Entrance Recommendation
The closest parking would be the Maryland Live Casino parking garage (free), and use the Food Court Entrance. Nando Peri Peri is located next to that Food Court entrance for reference.
Distance Disclaimer
Please note: Course distance and start times may adjust slightly based on registration numbers and logistics. Waved starts will help ensure plenty of space for running through the mall corridors. The 5K course will be four laps around the mall and is 1/10th of a kilometer longer than an exact 5K.
Strollers and Children Note
The 5K race will have runners completing four laps around the mall, making for tight spots, especially in two sections that require a small ramp to go up/down. Runners can also opt to run up and down the three stairs as they see fit. Strollers will only be allowed during the Fun Run/walk and must start at the back. Any child participating in the 5K should be able to maintain a jogging pace and stick to the right-hand side of the course. We love kids, but know they like to take off and run around without always looking around their surroundings. Please ensure your child is both old enough for the 5K and can follow proper race etiquette. We invite everyone to join the Fun Run/Walk!

The Zebra 5K Run/Walk is an in person or virtual 5K run OR walk!
Why a Zebra? The Zebra is the official symbol of rare diseases in the United States... currently over 10,000 unique diseases!
WHO WE HELP: The Zebra 5k Run/Walk benefits the greater rare disease community. There are nearly 10,000 diseases considered "rare," and approximately 1 in 10 Americans are living with one of these rare diseases or disorders. Help raise awareness for these patients and their families by participating in our in person and/or virtual 5K run/walk. Your support will benefit children living "rare" at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These institutions and our program provides financial assistance to rare disease patients and their families who have exhausted all financial alternatives on their journey to receiving their child's rare diagnosis. The Zebra 5K specifically benefits the patient assistance funds at the hospitals who provide care and financial assistance to pediatric rare disease patients.
WHO ARE WE? The New Hope Run Club is a running and movement group located in New Hope, PA. We're sponsoring this run and hosting the in-person portion of the run (find us on Facebook or at www.newhoperunclub.com). Full Hundo: This is the whole enchilada. Don't select this category without knowing that you are in for one hell of a challenge. This route is somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 vertical feet of climbing (depending on the gps) and has broken many very experienced cyclists.
3/4 Hundo: Here is the ride for those of you who are on the fence between doing the whole ride and the shorter course. You will still get a great ride, some gravel, great views, and quite a challenge.
Although this is a shorter distance than the full hundo, please be aware that this is a significant challenge for many experienced cyclists.
Metric Hundo: If you want to come out and give this ride a try but you don't have the time, or the hundo is just a bit too much to bite off for you, this is a perfect ride.
A lovely 40. We added this category for the folks that want to enjoy the event but do not want to go all the way quite yet. This course is a ton of fun and will get you back in time for lunch.
There is plenty of gravel, elevation, scenery, and smiles to make it totally worth trying this ride.
Just because this is a shorter distance, do not expect it to be a walk in the park. There are some monster climbs and some challenging descents on this course.
Please read the notes below:
Welcome to the Event Page for the Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo 2027. This is the 14th running of this event and we are so happy to have you back. Thanks for giving this a try or for coming back for another year. I hope you have a great ride, but before then, take a look at all of the notes below. All of the info you need is laid out on this page.
Registration: Registration will open to the public at 12:01am on July 16 for a limited time. If you want to make it in, make sure you are in line. If the category you want is sold out, try another one or jump into the waitlist. Last year almost everyone who stayed on the waitlist made it into the ride.
Waitlist: If you registered for the waitlist, please do not contact and ask where you are on the list. If someone drops out, you will be added and you will get a confirmation from Bike Reg. If you change your plans and do not want to be on the waitlist, remove yourself. If you are next in line and a spot opens up, you will be moved into the category and charged the full amount for the position.
Transfer/Cancel: Bike reg changed how they handle transfers, so you can now do it on your own for a limited amount of time. To prevent too many people from grabbing spots they won't use, there is a $15 transfer fee if you change your mind about the ride.
There is only one category for people who might want to cancel. If you are not in that category, you can not cancel your entry but you can transfer it to a friend. The "I want in, but might want out" category offers a bailout for those that have complicated schedules and might not be able to make it. You will be able to get most of your money back and someone else will be able to ride. That is pretty cool and way more than most rides offer. PLEASE SEE DETAILED CANCELATION INFO AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS SECTION.
This is a rain or shine event. There are no refunds for your entry due to poor weather.
The promoter retains the right to remove any rider that behaves in an unsafe or undesirable manner at any time. No refunds will be issued for improper behavior.
6: Volunteers: We need you! This ride does not happen without tons of volunteers so please come and join us in all of the fun. We feed you, put you in the raffle, get you a cool shirt, and give you a fun job that shouldn't take all day. If you volunteer, you could ride next year for free (non transferable)! We do have some volunteer jobs that will also allow you to reid. Get in touch for more info.
7: Charity: The Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo believes in giving back. One dollar of each entry is donated to the The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League. In addition, the ride makes a donation to the Keystone Youth Mountain Bike Team. You will see many of the students and their parents out volunteering on the event weekend.
8: Merchandise: We will have the chance to buy different types of merchandise over the next few months. We always strive to bring you some awesome goodies and this year is no different.
9: Lodging We are working on a lodging sponsor
There are also plenty of other places to stay in the region. A large group camps Frances Slocum state park each year.
Starrucca Crossing is a gravel ride in NEPA that shares some of the same roads as LLWH, but it takes you out a bit further than LLWH ever could. It is a bit smaller ride, but tons of fun.
GJE? George J. Engleman is my dad. He is a big reason why this ride even exists. He gave me the love of exploration and of riding my bike. He was my number one volunteer. He passed away in November of 2016. I and the ride miss him dearly. If you see his initials on some merch, know that he is/was a very special person.

What is Your CANCELLATION POLICY?
We begin planning, permitting, and purchasing items for an event well in advance based on your pre-registration. Therefore we have a strict no refund policy. Be aware when you decide to register. We feel like our flexible transfer and change policies should accommodate most people and situations.
CVP CANCELLATION POLICY No refunds, No exceptions.
45 Days Prior to the event: Deadline to Defer to the following year. Deferrals are good for 1 year only. You can not defer a second year. You may transfer your entry to another person if you have a deferred entry, but it must be done 30 days prior to the event.
10 Days Prior to the Event;
You may transfer your entry to a different participant using the online transfer tool. Registration is transferable to the current event and year only. The deadline to transfer is 10 days prior to the event online.
You may cancel your entry and receive a credit valued at 30% of your entry fee to use toward any CVP event within 1 year of cancellation. You MUST cancel no less than 10 days prior to the scheduled event.
9-0 Days before the Event: Cancellations less than 10 days prior to an event and no-shows do not qualify for a credit.
Transfers and Changes
YOU Can now edit items on your registration if you have a Bikereg Account. Racer name, phone, address, and email. You can also change the team category or team names.
Transfers and Category Changes must be made through your BikeReg Account. Some actions are not allowed if you register as a guest. Change fees will apply.
If you change to a lessor distance you will not receive a refund on the price difference but we will not charge you a change fee.
If you change to a higher-priced category you will pay the change fee + the price difference.
We highly suggest you purchase the insurance with your registration provided by BikeReg. This is separate from our company and will cover you in case of illness, injury, or event cancelations due to weather and other unforeseen situations.
If you purchase the insurance and have a claim, call BikeReg directly. We can not process your claim. But, if you file one it will void any rights to a credit or transfer on our end. You can’t do both.
Thanks to GRO events for the notes from above.
