LOW50k Runners!
We are so excited for our 5th Annual Lake Of The Woods 5k & 50K! February 7th!
The race will begin at 7:50am (5k) & 8am (50k) on Saturday February 7th, located at the Lake Of The Woods Camp Grounds (3939 Swartzel Rd Farmersville, Ohio 45325).
Every runner/rucker who signs up for the 5k or 50k run/ruck will get an official 2025 LOW50k poster, a LOW50k drawstring bag, and a finishers medal included with sign up! Official race hooded pullover will be $25 and will be available for pre-order up until January 23rd!
Runners will line up outside of the clubhouse/main aid station area near the lake, and take off on a 5k looped course. Runners participating in the 5k will stop after one loop and runners participating in the 50k will go out for 10 loops. An award ceremony for each running event will be held as the majority of runners finish their respective races.
The course loops through the woods and around the lake. The trails are wide and very passable. The course does feature hills and a creek crossing (Not deep). Map and course video coming soon.

The campground features a shower house with heated restrooms (as long as the park does not need to winterize), and an outdoor shelter that will serve as the main aid station. Other race features include two port-a-potties at the main aid, a large bonfire area for outdoor warm ups, an on course aid station, and hot soup and mashed potatoes served all day at the main aid station.

-Ruckers must carry a minimum of 25lbs (weigh in at packet pick up). No weighted vests.
-Heated Indoor Bathrooms/showers are located near the main aid station shelter (*this bathroom will be open unless there is a need for the park to winterize the facilities)
-Two aid stations will be on the course. Main aid at start/finish and one roughly half way
-This event is rain or shine (or snow)
-Parking can be located at the campground. Enter the main entrance gate then follow the road ahead as it curves to the right (follow the signs/volunteers), make a right at the intersection and park along the field.
From the parking area you will need to walk less than a quarter mile to the clubhouse.
We expect amazing finishes, tough trails, and maybe even a Bigfoot sighting or two....

COURSE INFORMATION
Two five mile loops through Forest Field and Bill Yeck Parks. Mostly trails and prairie with some black top and crushed gravel paths.
REGISTRATION: Registration is available to all through RunSignup prior to the race. Online registration remains open until approximately 15 minutes before race start and can be done in-person at the race. Hard copy registration sheets are also available on race day if needed. Minors may be registered on RunSignup by a parent or guardian or in-person with a parent or guardian present to sign the waiver.
CHECK-IN: All participants must check-in before the race and attach their assigned timing chip to one of their shoes. Look for the table with the green tablecloth to get your chip.
We recommend you arrive at least one hour before the race to park, check in, and warm-up prior to the race start.
FEES:
All Current ORRRC Members Run for Free (Fee waived automatically when your RSU membership profile is used, or bring your card/proof of membership to the event)
Non-Members:
– $10 for ages 15 and up
– Free for ages 14 and under

This race through Woodland Cemetery is challenging. It's a pretty hilly course so maybe not the race if you are looking to PR, but if you want a great workout and some amazing views of Dayton and the opportunity to see some Dayton history, this race is for you! Proceeds to benefit the Woodland Foundation.
Packet pickup Saturday, April 25 from 2-4 at Up and Running in Dayton or race day beginning at 8:00am. Shirts guaranteed to all those registered by April 14.

Lace Up for a Great Cause
Together with locally owned and operated Up and Running, our annual 5K is a family-friendly run/walk aimed at bringing neighbors together! Proceeds benefit the fight against hunger and will be distributed to The Foodbank. We also are grateful for the generous vendor donations that'll be loaded directly on The Foodbank truck race morning. All 5K participants will receive a Killer Brownie® treat at the finish line!
EARLY BIRD RATE

ORRRC's rich history with ultra trail races starts with this one! Come run through one of the best MetroParks in Montgomery county. This race will take you through cedar forests, open prairies, alongside Twin Creek, through a span of old-growth forests, and up and down some of the most scenic hills and peaceful valleys around. A great course for anyone looking to challenge their skill and endurance at the 50k distance.
2nd year for the TWO-PERSON 50k RELAY!
A newer event for our lovely course. Each team member will complete 2 loops each and how you divvy up the loops is up to the team, two in a row or alternate every other loop. Participants can purchase cool relay specific race shirt. Great for folks who are new to trail running or just need a shorter distance.
If you are in need of a partner, just indicate during registration.
Where: The Race will start and finish at the Cottonwood shelter in Germantown MetroPark. Gates open at 6am! Race starts at 8am,
Early start at 7am available for those who would like extra time to complete the 50k course! Please note, early starters are not eligible for the overall finisher awards.
Race Day Packet Pickup ONLY. Packet pickup will start at 6:30 am at the Cottonwood shelter (main aid station and start/finish line).
Parking: Parking will be available at the Cottonwood and Morning Glory shelters. Overflow parking at the Visitor's Center. Please do not park on the grass or alongside the road!
Course: The 4 LOOP course starts and ends at Cottonwood Shelter. Runners will take the trail that leads out from the shelter then turns LEFT on the GREEN trail. Turn LEFT on the ORANGE trail, stay right onto PURPLE toward Manning Road. The ORANGE trail has a short road section along Manning Road across the bridge then down steps and through a prairie section. Continue on the ORANGE trail on the east side of Twin Creek. Turn LEFT on the PINK ONLY trail where the orange and pink trail intersect (do not follow orange and pink). Stay on the PINK trail around Sunfish Pond. There will be cones leading to the Sunfish Shelter Aid Station. Follow cones back to the PINK trail. Follow the PINK trail across the parking lot and cross the park road. Stay on the PINK trail down the hill and watch for the sign to TURN LEFT on the ORANGE trail and cross the dam. There will be an Aid Station in a parking lot at the Conservancy Rd. trailhead. Continue on the ORANGE trail through the hills, alongside the
creek, and on the boardwalk past the Twin Valley Welcome Center. Follow GREEN ORANGE RED back to the Cottonwood trail entrance. Watch for cones leading back to Cottonwood Shelter (Start/Finish and Aid Station).
Flood Course: Stay on the PINK trail down the hill and watch for the sign to TURN LEFT on the ORANGE trail and cross the dam. There will be an Aid Station in a parking lot at the Conservancy Rd. trailhead. Continue on the ORANGE trail then turn LEFT onto YELLOW ONLY, continue on YELLOW until it meets up with YELLOW BLUE turn left and follow the trail back to the boardwalk, past the Twin Valley Welcome Center, follow GREEN ORANGE RED back to the Cottonwood trail entrance. Watch for cones leading back to Cottonwood Shelter (Start/Finish and Aid Station).
Elevation: approx. 3,000 gain
Cutoff: There is one cut-off at 2:45 pm. No one will be permitted to start the last loop after that time.
Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male and Female overall finishers and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place relay teams.
Custom Finisher Awards: 2026 Collectable Wildlife Patch
Aid Stations: located at Cottonwood (main aid/manned), Sunfish Shelter (fully stocked/manned), and Conservancy (WATER and TAILWIND ONLY/non-manned). Food will include: PB & J, pickles, chips, gummy bears, boiled potatoes, hummus wraps, bananas, and possibly the coveted watermelon! Hydration provided includes water, Tailwind, and assorted soda.
We are a CUPLESS race so please bring your own water bottle or hydration pack as needed. Single-use cups will only be used for snacks and soda at aid stations.

The University of Dayton Department of Health and Sport Science annual Thomas J. Frericks 5K event is set for 2026! The event will take place on UD's campus over Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 26th. The race will begin in front of the RecPlex at 10:00am. Proceeds of the Thomas J. Frericks 5K will benefit the Department of Health and Sport Science and Phi Epsilon Kappa.
The cost for the in-person 5K event is $30. Registration includes a t-shirt if registered by Sept 1.
Prizes will be awarded to the male and female overall winners and the top 3 males and females in each age division.
