The Medina Rec will be hosting their 4th annual indoor triathlon, biathlon, and youth tri on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The Medina Rec Center provides 110,000 sq ft recreation that offers everything you need to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. The Medina Rec Center is now in its 22st year!

Please note that a photo ID is required for all nonmembers when entering the building.

The first wave will start at 7:30am

Each wave will consist of 12 participants.

We will have 6 wave start times for the triathlon (Swim/bike/Run) portion and one wave for the biathlon (Bike & Run)

We will have a dedicated youth wave for youths age 7-15 years old. The youth wave will consist of 10 min segments of the swim, bike & Run, with 10 min transitions between each segment.

Each adult segment will consist of 20 mins and a 5 mins transition time

For the Triathlon, we will have the following wave start times. When you register you will be able to sign up for a specific wave start time and will start in the pool area with an assigned wave.

Wave #1 - 7:30 am

Wave # 2 - 7:55 am

Wave # 3 - 8:20 am

Wave # 4 - 8:45 am

Wave # 5 – 9:05 am

Wave # 6 - 9:50 am - Youth Wave (Ages 7-15) Medina Rec membership required

The biathlon wave will start at 7:30 am with the 20 min bike portion then a 5 min transition and finish with a 20 min run on the indoor track.

We expect to sell out this event. If we do have a sell out situation. We will start a standby list.

Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

DOGS AND STROLLERS

Dogs and strollers are allowed at this race, but we ask that you start in the back of the pack as to not get in the way during the start. Dogs should be kept on a short leash and please make sure to be respectful and clean up any messes. Please be mindful of your surroundings at the start line and along the course, and please be respectful of your fellow runners!

REFUNDS AND TRANSFERS

Sorry, but all entries are non-refundable. Once we've received and processed your entry, you will not receive a refund, you may not give or sell your race number to another person, and entry fees are not transferable to the next year's race or any other race.

RePlay for Kids mission is to increase the availability of toys and assistive devices for children with disabilities. They repair, adapt and distribute toys and assistive devices free of charge. In so doing, they strive to raise awareness and increase the number and variety of toys and devices available to the children who need them.
