MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE
Our inner-city communities face numerous health issues, including limited access to healthcare, higher rates of chronic diseases, and disparities in health outcomes.
Movement can play a crucial role in preventative medicine for our communities by promoting physical activity, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being. By encouraging regular exercise, healthy eating habits, and access to healthcare resources, movement can help prevent chronic diseases and improve the overall health of marginalized populations.

We are pleased to invite you to be a part of our 18th annual Stroll for Epilepsy to be held on Saturday February 28th, 2025 at the Polaris Fashion Place. Join the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio as we raise awareness about epilepsy, while also raising needed funds for programs and services in the Columbus area. This family friendly event brings together children and adults living with epilepsy, their families, friends and supporters; and features an indoor walk through the mall whereby participants learn about epilepsy, have a chance to win prizes and support a great cause. We will also have a silent auction with some great baskets and items for any member of the family! Please Note: Due to the rising cost of shirts, we are adding an additional $5 to registration fees for shirts. Selecting a shirt size will add $5 to your registration fees. If you do not want a shirt, select none for shirt size. Purple shirt options are available for those with epilepsy!
There are a few ways you can support the Epilepsy Alliance and participate in this event! You can register for the event; register and create a social team to encourage your friends and family to participate as well; register and create a fundraising team to challenge yourself, family, and friends to help you raise funds for the EAO; donate to your favorite team or donate to the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio to help fund our vital programs and services. No donation is too small!
Epilepsy Alliance Ohio is dedicated to supporting those impacted by epilepsy in local communities by confronting the spectrum of challenges created by seizures. Epilepsy Alliance Ohio (new name same mission) has been in existence since 1953; we provide direct services to optimize each person's understanding of epilepsy and to improve their methods of coping with epilepsy.

Breathe Strong 5K is more than a run or walk—it’s a movement to honor lives touched by lung cancer and to fight for a future with earlier detection, better treatments, and stronger support. Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths and often shows little to no warning until it has progressed, making awareness and education lifesaving.
At the event, we will provide critical information about lung cancer risks, warning signs, screening, and information on support resources for patients and families. All proceeds from the Breathe Strong 5K will directly support lung cancer research and family support groups through a donation to the Blue Beautiful Skies Fund for Lung Cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- The James. Donations help fund breakthroughs, offer hope, and remind everyone that they don't face this disease alone. Together, we walk to remember, to educate, and to help every breath count. We are thankful for the generous support from the Mary Ann Kirkby Living with Lung Cancer Fund at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for the event T-shirts.
Register by 03/08/2026 to guarantee your selected T-shirt size. Registrations after 03/08/2026 will receive a T-shirt based on the available sizes.

The Running Outreach Initiative is an OSU student-led nonprofit whose mission is to enrich the lives of elementary and middle school students through the power of running. This accessible sport provides health benefits and social opportunities, though many of our coaches have also experienced the role that running has played in developing their character, including their self-motivation, grit, and confidence. TROI wants to remove the financial barriers to participation in this incredible sport, therefore all revenue generated from the Kicks for Kids 5K will be used to purchase brand-new injury-preventing running shoes for the ~100 youth athletes whom TROI coaches in the Columbus area across its programs at Graham Elementary & Middle School, North Columbus Preparatory Academy, South Columbus Preparatory Academy at Southfield, and A+ Children's Academy. Lace up for something bigger than the finish line; help provide a critical lifeline to families experiencing a housing crisis.
Join Home for Families (HFF) for our inaugural 5K on the morning of Sunday, May 10 (Mother’s Day), at Wolfe Park in Columbus, and go the distance for moms and families facing severe housing instability. We are also offering a 1K walk, which will start at the same time as the 5k. With nearly 90% of families led by strong, single moms under 34, your support will help HFF go the distance to prevent homelessness for these young moms and their families.
Run for mom. Run for family. Run for change.
As one of the largest non-shelter housing providers for low-income families in Columbus, Home for Families works behind the scenes with a network of landlords, government agencies, and community partners to provide safe, secure, and affordable housing solutions to over 1,200 families experiencing housing crises each year. We are a family’s exit plan from shelter and actively partner with them to resolve ongoing barriers to housing and provide long-term solutions for stability.
Please note that no pets are allowed at this event. Service animals specifically trained to aid people with a disability are welcome.

Please join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at our NEW location of Wolfe Park to participate in The Hunger Run 5K and help chase hunger out of Central Ohio! We've also added a 1-mile event option for those who want to participate in the Hunger Run but aren't ready for a 5K!
We are hosting the 7th Annual Hunger Run 5K in support of Neighborhood Services Inc. (NSI), a local food pantry and resource center located right here in Columbus, Ohio. Our goal is to spread awareness about hunger and food insecurity in central Ohio, bring the community together, and raise money for Neighborhood Services Inc.
Did you know that 13.5% of Franklin County residents are food insecure, nearly 1 in 5 Ohio children live in food-insecure households, and Ohio ranks #1 in food insecurity in the Midwest? These are just a few of the many reasons why Neighborhood Services Inc. is so important. NSI was started in 1965 through the workings of 12 different churches in the Columbus area and has been serving the University District and surrounding zip codes since its creation. NSI provides a variety of services to help support the community and reduce the effects of economic inequality and food insecurity in Columbus. Some of their initiatives include their food pantry, produce market, rent and utility assistance program, and special holiday programs.
In 2025, NSI served 760,089 meals to 50,393 individuals! This FUNdraiser has the ability to help feed even more well-deserving families and Columbus residents who are in need. We would love for you to join us in person (or virtually, if preferred) this May. Sign up today to walk or run, have some fun, and help race hunger out of Columbus!

The 2nd Annual P.A.I.L. Remembrance & Awareness Walk will be hosted by Alive In My Heart, Miles’ Mission, Columbus Public Health, and Nationwide Children's Hospital at Genoa Park in Columbus on Saturday morning, October 11, 2025. The event will bring awareness and support around the experience of Pregnancy and Infant Loss (“P.A.I.L.”) and honor and remember all of the babies we miss, babies who are loved beyond measure. Building on a tradition started in 2023 with a P.A.I.L. 5k hosted by Timmy’s Kids, the walk will bring together the Columbus and surrounding communities to support parents grieving the loss of a baby. Check-in will open at 9 am and a brief presentation will begin at 10 am including Keynote Speaker Seneca Bing of Aliyah's Light and music by Heather Evans. The un-timed one-mile walk begins following the presentation, at roughly 10:30 am. The event will also include light snacks, water, resources for grieving parents, activities for children, and Dos Hermanos Food Truck and
Kingdom Coffee Truck available for purchase, so please arrive early to enjoy these opportunities. The course is stroller-friendly, but pets other than service animals are not permitted.
Keynote speaker, Seneca D. Bing, is a Licensed Professional School Counselor, Certified Grief Educator, and Founder & President of Aliyah’s Light Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support, a nonprofit established in memory of her ten‑month‑old daughter, Aliyah, who passed in 2015. With over 18 years in education and advocacy, she leads healing initiatives—like grief‑support circles, connection activities, and comfort boxes to support families along their healing journey. In recognition of her impact, she is a 2025 WELD (Women for Economic and Leadership Development) Calendar Honoree.
Miles' Mission emerged from a family's profound grief after the stillbirth of their beloved Miles Owen Moore on October 11, 2021. His passing forever altered the lives of Jennifer, Gerald, Noah, and Harper Moore, as well as Dr. Michael Bullock, Kathy Bullock, Pamela, and Kendall Stevens, alongside their children, Michael and Jakobi. Through their collective sorrow, they discovered a newfound purpose in supporting others navigating the heartache of pregnancy and infant loss. Pamela, Miles’ Aunt and Jennifer's sister, faced her own journey of loss, enduring the pain of a molar pregnancy before the birth of her son, Jakobi. Despite the joy Jakobi brought, Pamela endured another miscarriage, highlighting the need to extend their support beyond stillbirths alone. These experiences, coupled with the loss of Miles, underscored the importance of honoring all forms of pregnancy and infant loss, inspiring them to establish Miles' Mission and provide solace to families facing similar challenges.
Alive In My Heart (“AIMH”) was founded in 2017 by the parents of Annelise Nery Cericola, Owen Chase Janidlo, and Jacob Dale Yassenoff, each of whom passed away shortly after birth in 2016 and are missed and loved beyond measure. AIMH has a mission to support families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss by connecting them to each other and to community resources in Central Ohio. AIMH envisions a community in which no family has to endure pregnancy or infant loss in isolation.
Columbus Public Health (CPH) is protecting health and improving lives as the local public health agency for the cities of Columbus and Worthington. The Franklin County Fetal-Infant Mortality Review (FIMR), which is facilitated through CPH, is part of a community-wide effort to decrease fetal and infant deaths in Franklin County. The FIMR team reviews fetal and infant deaths in Franklin County and listens to the unique stories of those who have lost a child. From this process, we learn about our community’s strengths and needs, and get information to help improve systems impacting the health of pregnant families and our community.
Our logo design was donated by Sun & Mind Co. Thank you!
A note on Parking:
This event is held at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus. There is no parking directly inside Genoa Park, but the park is adjacent to COSI and parking in the Dorrian Green garage is recommended.
There is ample parking around the downtown area.
