We are excited to bring back for year #2 the unique fitness challenge we refer to as The Forge Quad-Athlon! If you are looking for a complete body and mind challenge, this might just be the ticket.
This event will take place on Saturday, June 27th in Old Forge, NY. The Quad-Athlon will start and finish at the George T. Hiltebrant Center (201 North St., Old Forge, NY). You will ride, hike, paddle and run a total of 26.5 miles. The Quad-Athlon will start with a 13 mile mtn/gravel bike on the Tobie Trail (snowmobile trails). The bike is followed by a hike through the up and down trails on Vista Mountain for ~4.5 miles. After your adventurous hike you will then begin your 2.6 mile trail run on the Tobie Trail that will take you to Rondaxe Road where you will put your kayak in and start your 5.4 mile paddle down the beautiful Moose River. This portion of the Moose River is very calm with a slight current aiding your ride. The kayak leg exits onto North Street. After exiting your kayak
you'll finish with a one mile run back to the Rec Center. Please check the website for updated course maps.
Technically the event doesn't end here...you will finish the amazing day of fun with a BBQ meal at Mountainside Smokehouse & Grill (5074 NY-28, Old Forge, NY) where your bike will be waiting for you. BBQ is free for all registered single entries. Vegan/Vegetarian options will be available as well.
We are limiting this event to 200 total participants so if this is something for you, please don't hesitate to register. There will be kayaks to rent for the day if needed, you will have to email us to let us know. For 2026 we be working with the Town of Webb High School Sports Booster Club for Kayak rentals @ $20.
Specific event details (logistics) will follow. The Quad-Athlon will start at 8:30am. You will bike, hike, run, kayak a combined total of ~25 miles (13m bike, 4.6M hike, ~3.6M running and 5.4M kayaking). Timer will close official timing at 2:30pm (6 hours), any finishers after that time can submit their finish times to be placed into the results.
Helmets are required to be able to participate in the bike race, you will not be allowed to start without a helmet. Life jackets are required for the Kayak.
Adventure awaits. Time to register, time to train!

The Lace Up for Laura 5k walk/run fundraiser and Kids' Fun Run is a way to come together the last Saturday in June each year in celebration of Laura Cody McNaughton's life and her vision to bring
health and wellness to all before she died in a tragic car accident on June 28, 2018. All proceeds support local high school scholarships, and thanks to our amazing participants and sponsors, we’ve awarded $50,000 in local scholarships so far! It is intended to be a fun activity families can participate in together with runners and walkers of all abilities.
The event will consist of two races held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Weathersfield, VT:
---->8:30am- Approximately 1/3 mile Kids' (12 and under) Fun Run with COLOR RUN stations, BUBBLE stations, and a MEDAL for all. Plus all participants will receive a complimentary commemorative LACE UP DUCK for the Springfield Area Parent Child Center Duck Run happening in Springfield at their Family Block Party and Duck Run at 4PM! Ducks will have a chance to win cash and prizes at their event. A great day for local families!
---->9:00am- 3.1 mile (5km) race for all ages and abilities with professional timing, music, water stations, and uplifting energy
The starting line for both races will be located near the intersection of Plains Road and Reservoir Road. The 3.1 mile race will be an out and back race on the scenic dirt road known for its lack of change in elevation. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Laura Cody McNaughton Memorial fund and its annual scholarship which will be awarded to a graduating senior who exemplifies Laura’s leadership and giving spirit, and is pursuing further education and training in a field where these principles may be put into practice.

Essex Revolution Run/Walk 250 — 6.5K (4 Miles)
July 4 • 8:00 AM Start
Life. Liberty. Lake. Love.
Every Turn Counts.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, this region stood at the cutting edge of the fight
for American independence. Lake Champlain was the highway, the strategy, and the lifeline — and the communities along its shores were right in the middle of it.
This July 4th, we’re celebrating that history the Essex way: by getting outside, gathering together, and running (or walking) through the same beautiful landscape where it all unfolded.
Welcome to the Essex Revolution Run/Walk 250 — a professionally chip-timed 4-mile race celebrating community, fresh Adirondack air, working farmland, and a finish that leads straight into one of the best small-town Fourth of July celebrations around.
Brought to you by Lake Champlain Yoga, Pilates & Wellness, and formerly known as the Essex Firecracker Run, this year we’re leveling up for the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution in beautiful Essex-on-Lake Champlain, right in the heart of the Adirondack Park.
Yes, it’s historic.
Yes, it’s meaningful.
Yes, it’s also going to be a lot of fun.
Not a runner? You can still be part of the revolution. Register to support High Peaks Hospice and receive the commemorative race shirt or go to our online store. All proceeds from the Essex Revolution Run/Walk 250 benefit High Peaks Hospice, supporting compassionate end-of-life care for families throughout our region.
Early registration is open now — and the early bird price disappears soon.
Runners from across the region are already registering!
Come make a little history of your own in Essex.
Runners, walkers, families, first-timers, and seasoned racers are all welcome. If you can cover four miles and enjoy a good Fourth of July celebration, you belong here. Invite a friend, form a team, or bring the whole family — Independence Day is better together.
The Basics (Because Details Matter)
Start Location
Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness
2885 Essex Road
Essex, NY 12936
Schedule
7:00–7:45 AM – Bib Pickup (T-shirts available if not picked up July 3)
8:00 AM – 6.5K Start
10:00 AM – Course Cutoff
*Race-day registration available 7:00–7:30 AM if spots remain.
Finish
Downtown historic Essex, just steps from Lake Champlain and the town’s 4th of July festivities.
*Parking is available downtown. Plan ahead and allow 7–10 minutes to walk to the start. Consider it your warm-up.
The Course (It’s a Good One)
Flat start.
One gentle uphill.
Fast downhill finish.
The race begins on a firm, hard-packed country dirt road — easy underfoot and perfect for settling into your stride. From there, the course moves through open farmland in the Adirondack Park, passing cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and horses.
It’s basically a pastoral postcard… with sneakers.
After transitioning to paved roads, there’s one manageable climb (you’ve got this), followed by a downhill stretch that carries you into downtown Essex for a strong finish surrounded by parade energy.
And yes — Lake Champlain is right there at the end. If you decide to jump in afterward, we won’t judge. We might join you.
Run it fast, jog it easy, or walk it with friends — then stay downtown for the parade, music, food, and the best small-town Fourth of July celebration around.
Bring a phone or camera — the finish line and lake views make for excellent Fourth of July photos.
This scenic, smooth, and relatively fast course welcomes competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, families, and anyone who enjoys fresh air and a good reason to celebrate.
If you’re chasing a personal best, this course can deliver — and if you’re here for the scenery and celebration, you’ll fit right in too.
