THE 2026 GRAVEL GOBLIN IS ON!! We're getting in one more trick-or-treat ride the day after Halloween.
Sign up and ride with the Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club on Columbia County's
magnificent gravel roads. See the stunning autumn colors from the beautiful heights and rural valleys of this great gravel riding area. MHCC members and other cycling enthusiasts ride here all year and keep coming back for more. PLUS, the first 150 who visit the registration desk will enjoy a sweet surprise treat from Bountiful Bread!! The four routes offer a full variety of ride types and challenges. Everyone can find the ride that's right! A rest stop will be provided at the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Department for the 56 and 41 mile routes. So you will have a place to rest and refuel before continuing your tour. Note: all participants are required to follow rules of the road for cycling and to wear a helmet. As a safety tactic, each gravel ride will have a controlled, neutral start for the first mile. More safety requirements and tip are attached to your waiver.
Please remember to download your chosen route to an on-board device or print out a cue sheet before you show up!
BONUS: There will be mechanical support onsite prior to the ride, courtesy of Karl Miller's Blueline Spokes & Gears.
Make an additional donation online and/or come with a check, payable to Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY.
Checkin begins at 8am at S&S Farm Brewery on November 1.
HERE ARE THE ROUTES:
56-mile ride - 5635 ft, Group start 9:00.
41-mile ride - 4072 ft, Group start 9:30.
30-mile ride - 2624 ft, Group start 10:00.
PLUS a 30-mile ROAD ride - 1550 ft, Group start at 10:15.
After you finish, enjoy a craft beer at the S And S Farm Brewery and great food selections from Gourmeli's Taste food truck, on-site from 12-4. Supporting this event since 2018, Gourmeli's selections will not disappoint! Remember to bring extra cash/card for your food and beverages.
REMEMBER: We will also be collecting checks (made out to the Regional Food Bank) and non-perishable food and personal care items on the day of the event.
About the Regional Food Bank:
The Regional Food Bank has been helping to feed the poor and hungry in our communities since 1982. It is the only organization of its kind in northeastern New York. The Food Bank collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people in 23 counties. From Plattsburgh to Newburgh, in urban, rural, and suburban communities, the Food Bank provides over 55 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 agencies. The Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, the national network of food banks. The Regional Food Bank is a non-profit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

The Raven Rocks 10k Trail Run is BACK for NOVEMBER 8, 2026! Woo hoo!
We have also brought back the 100k Raven Challenge with all of the fun elements from last year -- plus we're looking to add a few
more activities to the challenge during the month of November!
You can sign up for one or the other -- or do BOTH! Signups for both events at the same time get a discount which appears at checkout.
Shirts this year are one design and available either on long-sleeved cotton shirts (traditional) and/or short sleeved tech fabric shirts (new!). You can purchase one, both, or neither shirt. If you are a purely virtual Raven 100k Challenge runner, we will mail you your shirt if ordered along with your finisher woodallion.
As always, these Raven events support the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. During registration we encourage runners and challengers to join as members of the museum to support their non-profit educational and conservation purpose.
Once the donation vehicle has been established, we will support the Friends of the Cross River Mountain Fire Tower. We are working with the Westchester Parks Foundation who plan to raise funds to support Westchester County and NY State in the restoration of the fire tower to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. That fundraising account will be set up soon with a range of support levels. More news to come!
More information about each event
Raven Rocks Run - 10k Trail Run
The Raven Rocks Run is a challenging 10k trail run at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY.
The ELEVENTH running of the race will be in November.
Race will be in-person Sunday, November 8, 2026 starting at 9am. (Final race date approval pending county permit.)
The race will start in the Meadow near the fallen oak tree and its massive remains. The course passes by the spot where the Leatherman’s Loop begins. Instead of heading towards the river as the Loop does, the Raven Rocks Run 10k course climbs and climbs up to the two highest points in the park (Raven Rocks Overlook and the Fire Tower Summit) before heading back for a (mostly) downhill and (relatively) flat finish.
The course passes by the site of the former Blue Trail fire tower which is the highest point in the park. We are working towards getting back the tower to its former spot in the park. See Course Map page for course details.
More information about the race and tower project is on the About page and the FAQ page of our ravenrocksrun.org website.
We are looking forward to November when we will run this event for the ELEVENTH time!
Important: Our Raven Rocks Run race plans are contingent on permit approval from the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation. This approval is not guaranteed but has been obtained for the prior nine races. As in all prior years we open registration with the understanding that the race will take place. We will update runners if the permit is not approved for the current year.
Raven 100k Challenge
The Raven 100k Challenge is simple: first, register for the challenge. Then run, hike, or walk 100k during the month of November 1st - 30th, 2026.
Note: You can register as late as November 15 for the 100k challenge and enter your mileage to date when you register.
This works out to an average of around 3k per day or 25k (15 miles) per week.
If you complete the challenge, you will receive a wooden finisher medallion. Shirts are optional.
The Raven 100k Challenge supports the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, a 501(c)3 not for profit organization based at the Trailside Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
You can also join the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation for annual membership during signup.
Bonus achievements
In addition to running, walking, or hiking 100k during November, there are several bonus achievement badges you can unlock if you are able:

Take a selfie at the Raven Rocks Overlook and send it in (photographer badge)
Submit a photo of yourself on a run with your "I Voted" sticker or if you can't vote in the election, next to someone with an "I Voted" sticker. Or simply log a run, walk, or hike on election day! (bald eagle badge)
Submit a photo of you running on Thanksgiving. Or simply log a run, walk, or hike on Thanksgiving. (turkey badge)
Submit a photo of you running on Veteran's Day. Or simply log a run, walk, or hike on Veteran's Day. (veterans day badge)

These badges will be displayed on the physical wooden finisher "medallion" once you complete the Raven Challenge. We will also show badges achieved on the summary page.
Any other badge ideas? We are open to suggestions :)
In addition, we will have recognition for:
First 3 men and First 3 women to 100k
Top 3 men and Top 3 women in total kilometers.
Anyone in contention for these Top 3 awards must make their entries in a timely manner:
All entries must be made within 36 hours of your run/walk.
If you do not enter your results within 36 hours you will not be eligible for any "Top 3" challenge recognition. We want our top participants to be in a 'virtual race' with each other. Without timely distance entries, this is not possible.
This is to discourage participants from "batch entering" their results and leaping to the top or near the top of the standings.
Keep your results up to date if you are in the running!
Note: In order to win these awards distance submissions need to be made via GPX files.
See instructions submitting results on RunSignUp Raven 100k Challenge page.
HALFWAY (50K) bonus search
For those in the area near Ward Pound Ridge Reservation we have a special treat in mind. If you opt-in via the badge update form (AFTER you pass the 50 kilometer mark on your Raven 100k Challenge) we will send you GPS coordinates to somewhere in the park where we have hidden a small challenge surprise for you to find. It will be obvious once you get there, but not easy to find unless you have the coordinates. Complete instructions and advice come with the GPS challenge confirmation email.
Everyone will have a different and unique spot somewhere in the park. Some will be further off-trail than others depending on how familiar you are with the park. You can ask for harder or easier location in the request and we will do our best to accommodate your request! Difficulty estimates can be subjective though!
Let us know when you find your halfway bonus (or if you can't find it!).

It began with Lt Col Dan Rooney’s flight home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. An F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he became painfully aware of the realities families face
when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled.
As his flight landed, the pilot announced they carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. Lt Col Rooney watched as Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother walked somberly alongside the flag-covered casket to meet his family on the tarmac. Among them was the deceased Corporal’s young son, Jacob.
Since that night, Lt Col Rooney has committed his life to rallying patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope through the Folds of Honor. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military and first responders. On our watch, those who protect our freedoms and our families will know they are not forgotten.

A Grass Roots Running and Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club event in honor of a local legend, Mike Slinskey.
Sunday, November 8th @ Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls, NY
5k: 9:30am - $25 through October
15th, $30 through November 7th, $35 on race day
Kids 1 mile (12 and under): 9:15am - Free
5k Virtual: $40 October 15th, $45 through November 8th
Slinskey Surprise: Immediately following the 5k - 400 meters ALL OUT, for grit and turnover! Coach Mike would occasionally have a "Slinskey Surprise" on random days when he thought the kids needed an extra push!
Join us as we lace up and hit the trail in tribute to beloved Hudson Valley runner, Coach Mike Slinskey - a man whose passion for running and the community around it was unmatched. In May 2025, Mike was diagnosed with a brainstem tumor, and after a courageous battle, he passed away on June 20, 2025 - just ten days after celebrating his 56th birthday. Today, we honor him in the most fitting way we know; by running.
In his memory, we continue this 5K, to keep his legacy alive and to help others find strength and joy in every mile, just as Mike did. All proceeds from this event will support the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA), the nation’s oldest nonprofit dedicated to brain tumor research with the intent to fund early detection and patient education; GlioLeo, a local non-profit offering resources and community to families affected by GBM; and to fund the Our Lady of Lourdes scholarship set up in his name.
Last year we had 300 people race, had 26 sponsors, well over 40 volunteers and raised over $7,000 for these causes. Thanks to runners like you and our generous sponsors we were able to come back this year with hopes to raise even more for our chosen charities. We hope to see you again in November, not only for a good cause, but for a good time.

Why We Run
The Hillacious Half was created to honor our military — to thank them and ensure their sacrifices are never taken for granted. The course is intentionally tough, representing the effort
and endurance our service members face every day, often far from their families. This is a bare bones race with no prize money and no frills — just grit, sweat, and the satisfaction of finishing one of the toughest courses around.
All proceeds after race expenses go into a fund to support local military personnel and families who need a helping hand. Funds are distributed directly through the Hillacious Half, never to large agencies. Both the first-place male and female finishers have their names engraved on perpetual trophies housed at the Morgan-Weir American Legion Post 27 in Litchfield.
We run this race in honor of those who serve and have served — carrying their strength with us up every hill.
Dog Tags
For an additional cost, participants and supporters can honor a veteran or service member with a personalized dog tag:
Runners: Add a tag during registration for $10.
Supporters (non-runners): Order a tag for $20.
Each tag is engraved with your veteran’s name and any additional info that fits.
Order by Oct 28 to have your tag ready for race day.
By wearing a dog tag, you bring that person “with you” on the course. It may be the motivation you need to conquer the next hill — and you keep it as a lasting honorarium.
Race Options
Half Marathon (Solo)
13.1 miles of no-nonsense toughness. No medals, no prize money — just sweat and pride.
2-Person Relay
Two legs (~6–7 miles each). Separate timing and awards.
4-Mile Walk (Timed)
Same course start, then loops back for ~4 miles. Starts after all runners (~10:05 A.M.). Includes all runner amenities — yes, a beer at the finish.
Proceeds & Impact
100% of proceeds after expenses are held in a local fund for military members and families needing a helping hand.
Funds are distributed directly by Hillacious Half, not via agencies.
Beyond financial aid, your food and coat donations support local pantries and shelters.

Whether you want to try your first trail race, or go for an ultra distance, this event is for you.
Spring Fling 4 Miler Complete 2 laps of the roughly two-mile course.
Fling Fanatic Series Do the double - Spring Fling 600 and Fall Fling 400!
