Michael aka "Chip" Cawley lived a life full of passion and perseverance. Whether it was fishing at every river and lake he came across, snowboarding with his buds, going on hikes, riding on his quad, or golfing with his poppy, he lived true to himself. Curious about the world, Michael strived to learn about various interests. He was a graduate of Valley View High School and Marywood University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. While at Valley View, he was a member of the wrestling and soccer teams. He was also trained by Greg Mancuso as a kickboxer at Northeast Karate. He never limited himself and always accomplished his dreams. Some of his many including excelling at his new job and buying a house. He saw people for who they were and treated everyone with kindness and humility. He loved all animals especially his boxer doggos. He was a caring son and enjoyed spending time with his parents Stacey & Brett. After recently being diagnosed with epilepsy, Michael passed away unexpectedly
at work from a grand mal seizure on February 23, 2023.
Michael's unconditional love transcends this universe. His legacy will live on through us & with us. We are raising funds to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy. All donations will support the following beneficiaries; Camp Freedom, Adopt a Boxer Rescue, Griffin Pond Animal Rescue, and Valley View Wrestling Scholarships.
Thank you for your love and support,
The Cawley Family

LivSports' first-ever 24-Hour BMX Lap-A-Thon is coming this Summer! This endurance cycling challenge invites riders from the BMX community and beyond to pedal their hearts out for 24 straight hours. This event will support LivFree's mission to help families navigating pediatric cancer to create Moments of Joy when they’re needed most.
At LivSports, athletics isn’t just about competition. It’s about compassion, community, joy, and a platform for giving back. Events like this harness the energy of athletes to raise crucial funds and spread awareness for families facing pediatric cancer. When riders come together with a shared purpose, every pedal forward carries more than momentum; it carries hope!
Ready to take on a challenge on the asphalt? 🏃♂️ Then join the Coney Island Half Marathon in Brooklyn! This legendary race will take you through one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of New York, blending seaside charm with urban vibes.
The NY Tourist is an East Coast homage to The L.A. Tourist Race.
The NY Tourist departs from Two Seas Cyclery in Brooklyn, NY at 0800 sharp and sends you into the greater New York area in search of “checkpoints” at specific GPS locations.
The objective is to route and navigate yourself to each “checkpoint”. On your journey you will encounter NYC traffic, trails that are actually river beds, iPhone scrolling j walkers, luxury gravel roads, downed trees, over-the-ear noise canceling headphone wearing dog walkers, single track, and hopefully areas of the East Coast you haven’t ridden a bike before.
This is a self supported and self navigating event, and It’s highly recommended to use a bike computer for navigation. Each “checkpoint” is one of the GPS coordinates, once you get to the “checkpoint“ you must tear a page from the book that matches your event entry plate number.
First one back to WeisMFG after collecting all pages wins. Failure to get the correct page number, miss a “checkpoint”, or lose a page will results in an automatic disqualification.
Take your ride to the next level with our optional enduro-style timed segments. These specially selected sections are designed to add excitement and challenge to your journey, giving you the chance to win a chance at a separate podium.
To qualify, simply upload your full ride to Strava. The fastest time on each segment for the day wins.

The Women’s Distance Festival is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of strength, community, and the power of women supporting women. With every stride, every mile, and every finish line crossed, we are helping advance the vital work of the Center for Safety & Change, whose mission is to support, shelter, and provide services to victims and survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes.
This year’s theme, TOGETHER WE RISE, captures the true spirit of the Women’s Distance Festival. It reminds us that when we come together—lifting each other up, standing side by side, and moving forward as a community—we create real and lasting change. Every participant, volunteer, and supporter plays a role in building a safer, stronger, and more equitable future for all.
The Women’s Distance Festival began as a powerful movement. Created by the Road Runners Club of America, the event originally served as a protest against the lack of long-distance racing opportunities for women. As recently as the 1980 Olympics, it was widely believed that women could not compete at distances greater than 1500 meters—less than one mile. In response, the first Women’s Distance Festivals were held in July 1980 across the United States, running parallel to the men’s marathon at the Moscow Olympics.
The Rockland Road Runners brought the Women’s Distance Festival to our community in 1988, and it has since grown into the largest Women and Girls 5K in the tri-state area.
Join us for the 38th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, July 12 at 8:00 AM at Rockland Lake State Park. For those who cannot attend in person, a virtual race option will be available from Sunday, July 12 through Sunday, July 19.
Come experience the energy, strength, and determination of hundreds of women and girls moving forward together. Whether you run, walk, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, you are part of something bigger.
Lace up your sneakers, show up with your community, and remember: when women support women, TOGETHER WE RISE.
The BEST Phoenixville running event (with the BEST finisher's medals) during the BEST local holiday in all of America, is BACK for 2026!
On Sunday July 12th, Steve McQueen and YOU star in the horror movie of the century! Uh...last century!
Every year, Phoenixville, PA celebrates Blobfest in honor of 1958's The BLOB. And every year, we throw a running party to help celebrate and support the historic Colonial Theatre that stars in the film! Join us as we start and finish right in front of the Colonial Theatre for our 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Kids Fun Run!
Course Decoration Contest!
Not a runner? Get a group of friends together to participate in our course decoration contest and you could win gift cards to our local Phoenixville restaurants. Here's how it works: Your group will be given an area on the 5K course to decorate in some Blob (or other monster/alien) theme. The only rule is that you don't obstruct or startle our runners. After the race, runners will vote for the best scenes and the winners will receive gift cards!
Location: The race starts in front of the Historic Colonial Theatre on Bridge Street! 227 Bridge St. The street will be closed to cars.
Parking: Free off-site parking will be available at Phoenixville Middle School (1000 Purple Pride Parkway). A free shuttle bus will run from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. 5K and 10K runners are encouraged to park at the middle school. Half marathon runners should park at the middle school only if they have picked up their bibs the day before (since the half marathon starts at 7 am). GPS LINK TO LOT
Paid Parking Near the Start/Finish: See the parking map at the bottom of our registration page HERE. Every year it seems like there is less and less parking in Phoenixville (and now most spaces cost $$ on Sundays), so we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING (or walking to the start if you live close by). There are four municipal lots near the starting area. One is accessible by the driveway between the Municipal building and the Foodery (325 Bridge Street). The other is on the corner of Taylor Alley and South Main Street. There is also parking at the Borough Hall lot (351 Bridge Street) and the Smithworks parking lot (30 N. Main St.). When you park at Smithworks, it's a very short walk over the bridge by the Foundry to get up to Bridge Street.
Finisher's Medal: Every finisher in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon will receive an incredible Blob-themed finisher's medal!
Flexible Options: If you register for the half marathon but the day comes and it is very hot (or for any reason), you can drop down to the 10K or 5K. Just tell our timer at the starting line.
Starting Times: Half marathon: 7 am / 10K: 8 am / 5K: 8:10 am / Kids' Run 8:15 am
Bib Pickup: There are 2 options for packet pickup this year.

Pacers: 2026 pace times for the half and 10K will be available as we get closer to the race!

COURSE CUT-OFF: Due to the July heat, the half marathon cut-off time will be a strict 3:30. Walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K or 10K.
Steel City Offer: Steel City Coffeehouse and Brewery at 203 Bridge Street in Phoenixville is offering 10% off all purchases for runners who show their bibs after the race!

YES, WE ARE RUNNING AND WALKING IN ANY WEATHER unless it is lightning - then we will delay it until the police say OK. Please don't email on race day because we likely won’t see it. We can't postpone to another date and we can't refund. But WE CAN HAVE FUN and enjoy the food trucks, adult hydration and 1000 friends who understand that weather reports are wrong more than half the time!
Join us on Wednesday, July 15th at Bowdoin Park for the Bowdoin Bushwhack!
Ramble through the brambles of beautiful Bowdoin Park. 5 miles of uphills, downhills, grass, rocks, trails- we have it all. If we could run you through the Hudson, we would, but that would be overkill.
