Introduction
Everyone can reach their running goals given the right opportunities. Due to the success of the Livingston Oval Ultra, a timed event each March at the Livingston Oval, athletes of all abilities can complete a half-marathon, full marathon, or even surpass what they thought their limits were at a last-person-standing event. There is NO TIME LIMIT for the half-marathon or full marathon events. We stay until the last person completes the distance. We have hot and cold food, hot and cold drinks, music, and the most enthusiastic race staff you'll ever meet. Field Availability - 6:30 AMGazebo Field opens one hour before the first event and closes 90 minutes after the last concludes. Athletes can set up their tents, chairs, coolers, etc. in a 12'X12' space. Racers are responsible for cleaning up their site. All Races start at 8:00 AMAll runners receive instructions and safety notifications 10 minutes before the 8 a.m. start. The course will not close until the last athlete completes their requested distance.
Marathon and Half-Marathon
The course is a closed loop, so you cannot possibly get lost. The marathon is 59.5 laps, and a half-marathon is 30 laps. Every person who completes the distance earns a finisher's medal, no matter how much time they need. This very flat course allows for top performances. Set a personal best!
Last Person Standing
Do you want to see how tough you are? Do you want to earn that championship belt? See how many laps you do and be the last person standing? Who knows?!Runners must complete two laps in 10 minutes, which is a pace of 11 minutes 20 seconds per mile. It sounds easy... at first.

Run and Walk for Birth: Help Us Raise $10,000 to Build a New Birth Center in Brooklyn
The second annual Haven Midwifery 5K Run/Walk isn’t just about crossing the finish line, it’s about building one. We’re on a mission to raise $10,000 toward opening a birth center right here in Brooklyn, NY, and we need your help to get there.
A new birth center means more options, more safety, and more dignity for women and families. It means access to compassionate, personalized, high-quality midwifery care without the barriers that too often come with traditional hospital births. It means a safe, welcoming space where women can give birth in comfort, with respect, and with the support they deserve.
The 5K takes place during Birth Center Week, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and community members who believe every woman should have access to respectful, informed, and safe maternity care regardless of income level.
Why It Matters
Brooklyn is home to countless women and families who want birth options outside of a hospital setting, yet choices remain limited. Haven Midwifery, a non-profit organization, is committed to changing that. Every step you take in this 5K directly supports their capital campaign to open the doors of Brooklyn’s next birth center.

About The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup
This race is Round 8 of the 2026 Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup. The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup links the Kissena Cycling Club Prospect Park Series into an overall competition with Verge leader kits and overall prizes awarded to the winners of the Category 1-2-3 and Category 3-4 events. There are also separate Sprint, KOM, and Best Master 45+ competitions in the Category 1-2-3 and Category 3-4 races. There are no overall competitions in the Category 5 event.
Click here for detailed information on how points are scored for each competition, prizes, and Frequently Asked Questions.
Timing Chips
For 2026 all Prospect Park and Floyd Bennett Field races will be timed using active timing chips(Except for Cat 5 races). The chips will allow us to provide faster, live results along with lap time reports, KOM and Sprint results, updated series standings and other features to be added at later dates. You must have a timing chip to be scored in the KOM or Sprint competitions and to receive podiums/prizes on race day. If you aren't using a chip we will send in your result to USA Cycling for rankings but you will not be eligible for a daily prize.
All riders in the Cat 1-2-3 and Cat 3-4 will need to have a timing chip to race. Riders in the Cat 5 race will NOT need a chip. Timing chips are available to purchase along with your registration as a merchandise item. If you are a CRCA member and already have a chip you DO NOT need to buy a chip. If you have a chip for the NJ TT or CX series, you DO NOT need to buy a chip. If you purchased a chip in 2022-2025 please continue using it.
The chips are guaranteed to work for a minimum of 5 years and can be used in multiple different series. Currently, the chips will work for CRCA races, both Prospect Series, FBF Tues nights, NJ TT Series and NJ CX series. More races and series will be added shortly.
The chip cost is $75 and you will own and be responsible for your chip. If you decide at any time that you do not want to participate in either of the Prospect series you can return the chip for a pro-rated refund. You will receive a refund equal to your original purchase price minus a rental fee of $5 per race you have entered. For example, if you have entered 4 races you would receive a $55 refund($75-$20). Only riders who purchased a chip for the FBF or PP series are eligible for this refund program.
If you are visiting from out of town and plan on racing at a park event, please contact me and we can arrange a one time chip rental or make other accommodations for your results. You do not need to purchase a chip if you are only racing once.
