Before the race, each runner writes down their predicted mile time.

You run one mile at Brookdale Park. Everyone starts together

Your goal: finish as close as possible to your predicted time.

No clocks. No splits. Just feel.

Prize Breakdown

All prize money is based on total registrations:

🥇 1st Place: 50% of the pot

🥈 2nd Place: 30% of the pot

🥉 3rd Place: 20% of the pot

Closest to your prediction wins—simple as that.

Join us for the Annual St. Cassian's 5K Race and Kids Fun Run presented by St. Cassian School, Montclair, NJ

The race will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield/Montclair, New Jersey. The Fun Run begins at 9:00 am and the 5K begins at 9:30 am.

USATF Certified Course<<<

All Fun Run participants receive a ribbon. In the 5K Run, medals will be presented to the overall male and female winners, along with age category winners (male and female), as well as new SC5K Finisher medal for all 5K participants!

Register online at www.runsignup.com. Race day registration begins at 8:00 AM at Brookdale Park.

5K:

Early Bird: $35 - Register before March 1, 2026; receive a Race Shirt

Regular Registration: $40 - Register by March 20, 2026 to receive a Race Shirt

Fun Run:

Early Bird: Kids $25 and Adults $30 - Register before March 1, 2026, and receive a Race Shirt

Regular Registration: Kids $30 and Adults $35 - Register by March 20, 2026 to receive a Race Shirt

The deadline for T-shirts is March 20th, so be sure to register before then to secure an awesome shirt!

We are currently working on a USATF sanction on our event. Please stay tuned for an update on our status.

5K start and finish will be accurately marked and timed - which is roughly three laps around the park. Walkers will do one lap, runners will do all three.

Awards for female and male, both groups:

62+ (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

51-61 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

40-50 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

29-39 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

22-28 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

17-21 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

14-16 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)

11-13 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
- Special Awards for all participants 10 and Under
We will have runners start their race first, followed by walkers. You have a choice to not be timed while registering, if you'd prefer to not be timed.

We will have food and refreshments available at both the beginning and end of the event, including:
- Bagels
- Bananas
- Oranges
- Acai bowls (post-race)
More about Geo Foundation and our cause:

The Geo Foundation honors George "Geo" Batikha and the many youth and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. All proceeds will go towards our two programs:
- Community Fund: Scholarships awarded across 5 high schools - Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Montclair, and Wayne Hills & Valley. Each year, we bring these scholars together for lunches and dinners to learn from each other and develop alongside one another.
- Family Assistance Fund: Funding provided to families who have a child going through cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude helps every youth patient with treatment, housing, and food along with one parent at no cost.

We are the USATF-NJ COED Team Championship

There will be hot dogs. beverages, ice cream and beer. Fun for the whole family!! Kids Infield Sprints for 2 to 12 year olds, the growing Rick Petersen Mile for all ages and of course the Tom Fleming 5 Mile

Parking:
- Parking lot behind the Town Pub 378 Broad St, Bloomfield
- Memorial Park Parking lot 7-11 Division St, Bloomfield
- Bloomfield Board of Ed parking lot 155 Broad Street - short warm up to Race Site at Foley Field
- Street parking on Baldwin St, Warren St, Osborne St, all off of Broad St.
- Broad St will be closed from Belleville Ave to Watchung Ave starting between 6:30 and 6:45pm.
Tom Fleming

Thomas J. Fleming was an American distance runner who won the 1973 and 1975 New York City Marathon. He was also a two time runner-up in the Boston Marathon in 1973 and 1974 and finished six times in the top ten in the BAA marathon. He was one of the founding fathers of the Sunset Classic.

Race Day Registration June 25 at Bloomfield's Foley Field, starting at 5:00PM.

All Registrations will be online only this year so bring your smart phone to register at Fleet Feet on Tuesday or Wednesday and Race Day! You can pay online with a CC, we also will accept checks made out to the BEF or cash at packet pick up or race day.
