    Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Classes

    Achieve your running goals this spring with Fleet Feet Lincoln! Our Full and Half Marathon Training Classes are perfect for every runner. Whether you're aiming to reach the finish line for the first time or the hundredth, our in-person training programs will help you get there.

    New this year, we've revamped the training class groupings. Each class will train on the same days but will have different goals, coaches, and mentors to get them to the finish line! We are excited to offer these new options to make for a more inclusive and welcoming training class community; see the options here:

    • The Beginner class is for the runner who is training for their first half or full marathon. The primary goal of this class is making sure you reach the finish line, not worrying about breaking any specific time on the race clock.

    • The Intermediate/Advanced class is for the runner who has completed multiple half or full marathons, is experienced with training, and is wanting to get faster or set a new personal record!

    What's New?

    New this year in Lincoln, all training class members will receive:

    • Nutrition advice from a local dietician.

    • Strength training advice from a local gym, elevating your training needs and ensuring you have all of the tools for a successful race and beyond.

    Additionally, we are putting a greater focus on the Beginner group. It is our goal to ensure you can always find a mentor, coach, or fellow training class member to run with at group meetups, regardless of pace.

    Pricing

    $90 for the entire training program and all benefits

    Weekly Schedule

    • Tuesdays at 6pm at Fleet Feet Lincoln
    • Beginner - "Just run" miles

    • Intermediate/Advanced - Speed workout

    • Saturdays at 7am
    • All - Group long run

    • locations vary week-to-week

    Beginner Program Benefits

    • Every participant will get a branded technical shirt

    • Coach and Mentors to assist you at all group runs

    • Planned long run courses on Saturdays

    • Weekly educational and motivational emails with tips and advice

    • Direct access to coaches via email

    • Training plans for the beginner run/walker and beginner runner

    • Strength training advice from a local gym

    Intermediate/Advanced Program Benefits

    • Every participant will get a branded technical shirt

    • Saturday planned long run courses

    • Speed workouts to match your pace and ability

    • Weekly educational and motivational emails with tips and advice

    • Direct access to coaches via email

    • Coach and Mentors to assist you on all group runs

    • Training plan for the intermediate runner

    • Training plan for the advanced runner

    • Nutrition advice from a local dietician

    • Strength training advice from a local gym

    Base Mileage

    We encourage you to build up your mileage before you start training with us! Here are our suggested weekly base mileage plans for each program:

    Beginner Base Training:

    • Half Marathon: 10 miles a week and at least a 3-mile run/walk per run

    • Full Marathon: 20 miles a week and at least a 6-mile long run.

    Intermediate and Advanced Base Training:

    • Half Marathon: 15-20 miles per week and at least a 6-mile long run

    • Full Marathon: 25-30 miles per week and at least a 8-10 mile run long run

    Pacing: Interested in getting the training class for free? We are needing pacers! Here are the paces we are needing: 9min/mile, 9:30min/mile, 10min/mile, 10:30min/mile, 11miin/mile, 11:30min/mile, 12min/mile. We would like two people per pace group.     Can't make the race? No problem! We offer a virtual race option where you can run anywhere, at any time, and still earn the fun swag!

    • The kid's dash is a fun, untimed dash for our kiddos ages 10 and under. Registration includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a specifically crafted medal for our kids' dash event! (If your child wants to run the kid's dash, and doesn't want the SWAG, they are welcome to run with us on race day for free!)

    Grab your friends and register as a "team" for special pricing and a chance to win the "Biggest Paddy (team)" award! Create a team, or join an existing team during registration. Once 5 people have registered on that team, all team members will be refunded $5, once ten people register $10 will be refunded!

    *Register by midnight on Thursday, two Thursdays before race day, to guarantee your shirt!
