About the Race and ASMC
Autism Services of Mecklenburg County (ASMC for short). ASMC is a 501(c)(3) not for profit providing housing and services for adults with autism right here in Charlotte since 1979 and they are WONDERFUL!
All entry fee profits go directly to ASMC to keep them running great. - Just like you will be doing at this race when you sign up!
Why Superheroes?
Hi, my name is Tony Scotto di Carlo and I have served on ASMC's board for 16 years and my brother Thomas is a resident at one of ASMC's wonderful group homes. We've picked the Superhero theme because many of ASMC's residents, (including my brother), love Superheroes and we want them to be super excited and surprised when they see hundreds of caped crusaders in full superhero gear running at once. That means you BTW! - sign up now! (Also, let's be honest, Superheroes are just awesome)
We're delighted that you are here. If you are not a runner, sign up and walk or just make a donation. ASMC will appreciate any amount!
Thank you for your generosity - YOU ARE A SUPERHERO!

Run with the Dogwoods
Charlotte Racefest is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the premier spring half marathon welcoming thousands to the streets of Charlotte through multiple distances. From a Half Marathon to a 10K to a Mile to a Kid’s Dash, this festival of running has something for every runner to celebrate. We are proud to work hand and hand with communities that surround SouthPark Mall to raise money for Go Jen Go, our beneficiary helping navigate breast cancer.
In 2026, Crown Collective, the team that brings you events like Around the Crown 10K, Forward Motion, and NoDa 5K has taken the reigns on the legacy of Charlotte Racefest. We're keeping a lot of the pieces that you know and love, but we're also putting our own charm on it.
Updated Course: The start/finish line will now be in the parking lot by Symphony Park and the first and last 2 miles will be on Sharon Road and Carnegie Boulevard. This will help with corralling and growth as the years tick on.
Rebrand: We're excited to honor the 25th running of Charlotte Racefest with an updated brand to highlight the pop of Spring we get to experience here in the Southeast through the colors and font you'll see throughout the brand.
Pillars: The core tenants you've come to expect at Crown Collective events will be brought to the marketing and start line of Racefest. We'll be bringing an emphasis of sustainability, inclusivity, and a pure love for Charlotte from here on out.
2026 Race Swag: At Crown Collective, we’re proud to continue to work with our partner in sustainability, Recover, for the 2026 shirt. On top of that, our newest partner, Badges and Medals, also has a focus on sustainability for your 2026 medal. In total, the shirt and medal helps remove 10 plastic bottles from the landfill and looks damn good while it does.
This year’s design speaks to the state flower of North Carolina, the flowering dogwood, which you’ll see along the brand new course. It's bold, yet clean, making it wearable way beyond race day with a subtle flex of your running status. This hand drawn rendition of our favorite flora on the back of shirt and front of the medal is where the design really comes to life.
Shirt Upgrade: Yep, we had to take it one step further. We’re excited to work with a new product from Recover, their custom long sleeve Sport Stretch. This new material is tech, but buttery soft - the perfect feel for those cooler mornings that like to stick around in the spring in the South.
The Brooks Mile: This corralled, family friendly race is made for those chasing sub 5 or sub 15 all kicking off at 7pm the night before the big day! That means we’re adding the opportunity to race Friday night as well as Saturday morning and kick off our distance challenges. Those running the mile will receive a technical Brooks tee or have the opportunity to upgrade to an elite Brooks tank!

Event Schedule:

10:00 AM Awards
Post race party/festival
support our local CLT small businesses and explore mental health and well-being resources
10:30 AM - Kids Fun Run
Get the younger generation of runners going!
Our fun run is something special - if you're finished with the 5K, we want you showing support for all the kids!
This fun run is to empower kids, to remind them that they CAN do hard things!
This event is for kids under the age of 12 and for all abilities wanting to participate in a shorter distance (wheelchairs, personal guides, support animals, and other forms of assistance are welcome).
Mental health affects all people of all ages, it is just as important as physical health and it does not discriminate. This event isn't just a race; it's a powerful movement to create awareness while finding hope in solidarity.
We hope that whatever you may be dealing with, that running is one of the things that helps you get through the challenging days and that you have the community to support you when you need it.
We all go through times that can challenge our mental health.
Let's normalize that with more visibility and presence within our community as we continue to amplify the conversation surrounding mental health and build a brighter future.
Invite your friends & family and enjoy the post race party/festival with delicious food trucks, vendors, petting zoo, yoga, acupuncture, and more! Plan to bring a form of payment to enjoy these amazing vendors and support CLT small businesses!

Now in it's 7th year, Forward Motion Summer Day Camp, powered by Brooks brings the heat. This camp is open to rising 12 - 18 year old female athletes of all levels. Experts in the field come to workout with the girls, talk about nutrition, injury prevention, mental training, and the importance of strength work.
We limit this camp to 50 and have coaches and counselors present to ensure individualized attention. We are proud partners of Brooks Running, and each participant will receive a tech tee or tank and be able to demo the latest shoes. Other swag will include socks, stickers, and daily raffles!
Speakers include nutrition, proper training, injury prevention, mindset. Forward Motion Day Camp is the kickoff to a summer of motivation. We run, get stronger, and most of all, have a lot of fun.

Run in the New Year with us at the 4th annual NOON Year's Eve 5K presented by Patterson Heating & Air Conditioning! This popular holiday 5K sold out the first three years, so we're expecting a full house again in 2026.
The 5K kicks off with a traditional New Year's Eve countdown at NOON! All paces are welcome. Runners (and walkers!) will enjoy a certified cross country course with scenic views of the lake and surrounding parkland.
SWAG
If you love swag, we've got you covered! 5K participants will receive a long sleeve, branded race shirt, a finisher medal and post-race lunch/beverages. Make sure you sign up early to secure your swag though, as we do expect another sellout. If you prefer to keep it simple, we offer a "Go Green" option where runners can opt out of a shirt and medal (but you still get to enjoy the post-race sustenance!).
RACE COURSES
The 5K course begins and ends in McAlpine Creek Park. This is a certified 5K course consisting of crushed gravel surface - perfect for pushing yourself for a new PR!
The Noon Year's Eve Kids Dash course is ~ 0.20 mile, flat sprint perfect for nearly all ages. The kiddos will start at the 5K start line and cut across a crushed gravel path to take a "shortcut" to the finish line. Parents are welcome to accompany their kids on this fun run!
