    28TH Annual

    Cannonball's Cycling Team

Metric & Half-Metric Century Charity Ride,

    and Inaugural DuAthlon & 5K

    June 6/7, 2026

The Cannonballs Cycling Team (CCT) Annual Metric Century is back for its 28th year, and we have new exciting offerings in store! This year we are offering run options for those who aren’t cyclist or simply looking for more of a challenge, and for the first time we’ll incorporate timing.

METRIC & HALF METRIC RIDERS: You read the above correctly, if you are one of our annual riders…this year we will incorporate timing so we don’t have so rely on Strava. Come put your endurance to the test as you conquer the hills throughout Mecklenburg, Gaston and Lincoln Counties while raising funds for local charity. Participates are invited to join individually or as a team. This police escorted ride starts and concludes at White Water Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina. CCT Metric and Half Metric participants will have SAG support and many options for fuel and nutrition at each rest stop.

TRIATHLON (Swim, bike, and run and relay option):

Swim: Your event kicks off with a 200 yard swim in the indoor pool of the Harris YMCA. Swimmers will be self seeded according to the swim ability chart. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with lining up for the swim. You will be provided with a swim cap if you choose to wear it. After the swim, you'll experience the exhilaration of exiting the pool to the sound of cheers as you make your way to the transition area.

Bike: The bike is 8 miles on a 2 loop course. The bike course showcases the beautiful South Park area of Charlotte. It begins with a nice downhill section on Quail Hollow Road. The bike course has 5 major right-hand turns and includes Gleneagles Rd, Park Rd, and Sharon Rd.

Run: The majority of the run course keeps runners on the YMCA campus and close to the spectators. It’s an out-and-back course that includes quiet neighborhood roads. The great thing is that you’ll be able to share the energy with your fellow athletes as you approach the finish line!

Finish line party: Celebrate with your family and friends and take in your accomplishment!

AQUATHLON (Swim 200 yards, Run 2 Miles, DONE!)

DUATHLON (Run 1 Mile, Bike 8 Miles, Run 2 Miles)
