Burton Memorial Day 5k is held at Atherton High School. This event started in the mid 1990s and is still going strong today! 5k Run begins promptly after the National Anthem at 8:30am with the walk beginning at 8:33am. Proceeds will be given to the local high school extracurricular groups such as the Bendle Tiger Youth Football, Bentley Robotics, Atherton Theatre Group as well as the Burton VFW Post 2777, Burton Veterans Memorial and the Burton Police Department.

Are you ready to run, walk & roll!
Help Support Linden High School Marching Band with this fantastic new event. This 5k will take you through the campus of Linden Community Schools. Start and finish on the 50 yard line of Claude Cranston Stadium. The marching band will be out on course to motivate and inspire you along your run.
There will be a 1/2 mile kids run that will start 30 minutes before the 5k start.
There will be no separate walk category, but we encourage walkers to participate.
Always wanted to be a rockstar? Dress and run like one! Maybe win a special prize as a Solo Artist.
Have a band? Compete in our timed band competition. No musical talent required. Sign up your band and receive discounted registration (Min of 4, Max of 6). Band with the fastest 4 members to cross the line will win a special prize for the band. Maybe even win a Grammy!
Note for the create your own Band signup: A "band leader' will sign up, create the band name, set a band password and need to register. Each additional member will then sign up and join the band. First member pays $30. Second member pays $28. Third member pays $26. Fourth member pays $24. Fifth member pays $22 and Sixth member pays $20.

The Wings of Mercy Runway 5K Run / Competitive Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk will be a twilight race along the Runway and Taxiways of the Linden Price's Airport. This unique 5k race benefits Wings of Mercy East Michigan, Inc.
Wings of Mercy East Michigan, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that coordinates free flights to distant medical centers for individuals with limited financial resources. Using general aviation aircraft and volunteer pilots, they serve recipients on flights within approximately 600 miles of Eastern Michigan.

5k course starts on Hegel Road in front of Goodrich High School. This year we expect to be back to our traditional route with a track finish.
5k start time is 8:30 AM. Overall winners and course records will be based off of gun time. Age group awards will be based off of chip time.
1/2 Mile start time is 9:30 AM.
Race course is open to traffic so participants are asked to move to the right as soon as possible.

Onsite registration begins at 7 a.m. at the athletic complex on Nanita Drive. 8k runners take off at 8 a.m. At 8:15, the 5k runners and walkers depart. Online registration is $40 and includes a t-shirt and participant medals for all. Stick around town after the race and enjoy a mouth-watering Blueberry Pancake Breakfast then head over to the Entertainment Tent/Marketplace area and snatch up some flea market and craft show bargains.

The Veterans Honor Run is the final event in the Burton Race Series and a community tradition built around gratitude for those who served. While the Burton Memorial Day 5K focuses on remembrance, this event highlights active appreciation for veterans and their families. It is a chance to show support, stand together, and close out the season with purpose.
Participants run or walk a neighborhood route that winds through the local community. Whether you are pushing for a strong finish or enjoying an easy morning with friends, the Veterans Honor Run blends fitness, community pride, and the shared energy that makes race day special.
As the last stop in the Burton Race Series, VHR brings the year full circle. It is a meaningful way to celebrate the season, support those who served, and take the final steps to earn your BRS medal.

Virtual Participation:
The virtual Events give you the freedom to complete your miles on your own schedule and in the location that works best for you. After registering, choose any route you like, such as your neighborhood, a park trail, or a treadmill, and run or walk event distance. It is an easy, flexible way to stay active, support the event, and stay connected to the running community from wherever you are.
Participation in the virtual event counts toward earning both the Veterans Honor Run medal and the Burton Race Series medal. Finisher medals will be available at pre-race packet pickup and after the race at Complete Runner in Flint, Michigan.
5K RUCK:
Ruck participants must wear a weighted backpack. The backpack must weight a minimum of 20 pounds for anyone weighting 150 pounds and under, and a minimum of 30 pounds for anyone weighting over 150 pounds. All finishers will receive a challenge coin

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome at the Veterans Honor Run. We just have a few rules to keep things safe and smooth for everyone.
Dogs must stay on a short leash (4 ft or less) at all times.
Please start at the back of the pack.
Dogs are not allowed inside the buildings.
