    Come and enjoy various events from Run/Walk a 4 mile course or walking a 1 mile course around the community of Clio. Fun for the whole family! The 4 Mile route travels in the community of Clio and on the Bike path. All the proceeds help fund four local non-profits helping children and families. Race begins and ends at Clio Veterans Memorial Park. Participants will receive a medal and race t-shirt.

    Burton Memorial Day 5k is held at Atherton High School. This event started in the mid 1990s and is still going strong today! 5k Run begins promptly after the National Anthem at 8:30am with the walk beginning at 8:33am. Proceeds will be given to the local high school extracurricular groups such as the Bendle Tiger Youth Football, Bentley Robotics, Atherton Theatre Group as well as the Burton VFW Post 2777, Burton Veterans Memorial and the Burton Police Department.

    Help Support Linden High School Marching Band with this fantastic new event. This 5k will take you through the campus of Linden Community Schools. Start and finish on the 50 yard line of Claude Cranston Stadium. The marching band will be out on course to motivate and inspire you along your run.

    There will be a 1/2 mile kids run that will start 30 minutes before the 5k start.

    There will be no separate walk category, but we encourage walkers to participate.

    Always wanted to be a rockstar? Dress and run like one! Maybe win a special prize as a Solo Artist.

    Have a band? Compete in our timed band competition. No musical talent required. Sign up your band and receive discounted registration (Min of 4, Max of 6). Band with the fastest 4 members to cross the line will win a special prize for the band. Maybe even win a Grammy!

    Note for the create your own Band signup: A "band leader' will sign up, create the band name, set a band password and need to register. Each additional member will then sign up and join the band.     LAFF Pathway Paddle & Pedal Festival is a fundraising event to extend the local non-motorized pathway that will connect the communities of Linden, Argentine Township, Fenton and Fenton Township!

    Come on out Saturday, June 14 from 10:00am-8:00pm to downtown Linden for a family-friendly day of fun! You do NOT have to sign up to attend the Festival!

    Go for a paddle on the Shiawassee River or pedal on the completed Phase 1 of the LAFF Pathway. There will be Live Entertainment, Vendors, Activities, Workshops, a Kids Zone and Raffle Prize Baskets available at the Linden Amphitheatre Gazebo and Community Center (VFW Hall) located at 105 Mill St, Linden, MI 40451. Food Trucks will be available to satisfy the appetite!

    REGISTER NOW! To get this year's exclusive Festival 10 Liter Waterproof Gear Bag! Just click the SIGN UP button above by May 15 for the early bird discount of $25! In your gear you'll receive a packet including route map & sponsor goodies!! The bags are to be picked up the day of the festival at the information table in the Community Center open from 10am - 8pm. After the Festival unclaimed bags can be picked up at the SLPR Community Building in Fenton. Limited quantities of past event shirts and sport bags will be available for purchase! All purchase proceeds go to extending your community's LAFF Pathway!

    KAYAKING! Feel free to bring your own kayak. Don't have a kayak. No problem! Shiawassee River Shuttle is our supporting company. To book your kayak, call or text 810-206-2002 or email [email protected] Kayaks will be available to rent till 5:00 the day of the event but it is best to book ahead of time. The paddling route will have you go east up the Shiawassee to Tupper Lake or Lake Ponemah and then back. It is approximately 4-5 miles round trip that will take you 1.5 - 2 hours. You are welcome to turn around at any point. A map and written directions of the recommended route will be available at the information table. Down River trips available by request (limited quantity).

    BIKING! The pedaling route is about 10 miles. Ride at your own pace as This Is Not A Race! A map and written directions of the recommended route will be available at the information table. Signs will also be posted to guide you along the way. Ride Etiquette: You will be sharing the trail with walkers, joggers and bikers. It's basically like driving. Ride on the right side of the trail. Pass slower traffic on the left and it is considerate to either ring your bell or say "On your left" to the walker, jogger or biker you are passing to alert them of your presence.

    VENDORS! A variety of vendors will be available for a fun shopping experience! Items from health, fitness, handmade crafts and unique gifts! Available from 10am-6pm

    WORKSHOPS! Ever wanted to learn how to change a bike tire or simple bike maintenance? There will be trained biking experts to learn from!

    RAFFLE PRIZES! Raffle Prize Baskets will be located in the Community Center. Purchase your raffle tickets at the information table. The winners of the raffle prizes and will be announced at 5:30 by the DJ at the Gazebo Amphitheatre! (need not be present to win, unclaimed prizes available for pick up at the SLPR Community Building in Fenton)

    Saturday, June 20th, 8:00am start

    The events will be divided into small groups called "waves", and each wave will begin three minutes apart. Typically the FastTry adults will go first, and then the FirstTry adults by age group and finally the kids.

    Course Descriptions

    Swim โ€“ Easy 300 yard out-and-back swim in Byram Lake. The water temperature will be between 75 and 80 degrees F. WARM, COMFORTABLE, SAFE. Athletes who feel uncomfortable swimming may request the services from any of the number of kayaks that will be lining the course.

    Bike โ€“ 11.3 mile loop (HELMETS REQUIRED) starting from the transition area located at the beach parking lot at Linden County Park. The bike course will head south and loop around through Argentine and return back to Linden County Park to the transition area.

    Run โ€“ 2 miles out and back from the transition area onto the bike path, toward the turn around at soccer fields.

    Awards

    All finishers of FirstTry and FastTry will receive an Official FINISHER Medal at the finish line! Age group awards will be given to FastTry winners only, top 3 in each age group.

    *NO race day registration will be offered!

    *NO transfers

    NOTE: As with nearly all triathlons, participating in the event also requires you to have a USAT membership. USAT stands for United States of America Triathlon, and is the governing body of all multi-sport events, and is also a subsidiary of the United States Olympic Committee. If you already have a USAT membership, great! If not, you will have the opportunity to purchase a 1-day adult membership during registration for $15 (1-day youth is $10). You can also purchase a yearly membership during registration if you plan to participate in several triathlons. For more information regarding USAT memberships, please visit USAT's website directly.

    Refunds

    We will refund the full amount of your registration, minus any registration and USAT fees, if for some reason the event is cancelled for reasons other than weather.     The Wings of Mercy Runway 5K Run / Competitive Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk will be a twilight race along the Runway and Taxiways of the Linden Price's Airport. This unique 5k race benefits Wings of Mercy East Michigan, Inc.

    Wings of Mercy East Michigan, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that coordinates free flights to distant medical centers for individuals with limited financial resources. Using general aviation aircraft and volunteer pilots, they serve recipients on flights within approximately 600 miles of Eastern Michigan.

    5k course starts on Hegel Road in front of Goodrich High School. This year we expect to be back to our traditional route with a track finish.

    5k start time is 8:30 AM. Overall winners and course records will be based off of gun time. Age group awards will be based off of chip time.

    1/2 Mile start time is 9:30 AM.

    Race course is open to traffic so participants are asked to move to the right as soon as possible.

Onsite registration begins at 7 a.m. at the athletic complex on Nanita Drive. 8k runners take off at 8 a.m. At 8:15, the 5k runners and walkers depart. Online registration is $40 and includes a t-shirt and participant medals for all.     The Veterans Honor Run is the final event in the Burton Race Series and a community tradition built around gratitude for those who served. While the Burton Memorial Day 5K focuses on remembrance, this event highlights active appreciation for veterans and their families. It is a chance to show support, stand together, and close out the season with purpose.

    Participants run or walk a neighborhood route that winds through the local community. Whether you are pushing for a strong finish or enjoying an easy morning with friends, the Veterans Honor Run blends fitness, community pride, and the shared energy that makes race day special.

    As the last stop in the Burton Race Series, VHR brings the year full circle. It is a meaningful way to celebrate the season, support those who served, and take the final steps to earn your BRS medal.

    Virtual Participation:

    The virtual Events give you the freedom to complete your miles on your own schedule and in the location that works best for you. After registering, choose any route you like, such as your neighborhood, a park trail, or a treadmill, and run or walk event distance. It is an easy, flexible way to stay active, support the event, and stay connected to the running community from wherever you are.

    Participation in the virtual event counts toward earning both the Veterans Honor Run medal and the Burton Race Series medal. Finisher medals will be available at pre-race packet pickup and after the race at Complete Runner in Flint, Michigan.

    5K RUCK:

    Ruck participants must wear a weighted backpack. The backpack must weight a minimum of 20 pounds for anyone weighting 150 pounds and under, and a minimum of 30 pounds for anyone weighting over 150 pounds. All finishers will receive a challenge coin

    Dog Policy:

    Dogs are welcome at the Veterans Honor Run. We just have a few rules to keep things safe and smooth for everyone.

    Dogs must stay on a short leash (4 ft or less) at all times.

    Dogs are not allowed inside the buildings.
