Join us for the 3rd Annual Step Up to 5k, taking place on Sunday September 14, 2025 at Heritage Park in Frankenmuth, MI.
Step Up to 5K is an inclusive, fun-filled 5K run/walk/roll hosted by Bremer
Prosthetics. We bring together individuals of all abilities—whether seasoned runners, people with prosthetics, families, or first-time participants—for a supportive and uplifting community experience.
Our mission is to inspire confidence, celebrate movement, and promote access to mobility for all. We want to bring awareness and advocacy for prosthetics and orthotics access, promoting the idea that movement is medicine and physical activity is a right. Proceeds from the event support So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative advocating for state-by-state legislative change for fair insurance coverage of prosthetic and orthotic care. We believe mobility is a human right, and this event is one step toward making that right a reality for everyone.
We are proud to offer discounted registration for amputees and individuals with limb differences who are on a journey toward a more active lifestyle. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of Bremer Prosthetics, whose sponsorship allows us to direct more funds to So Every Body Can Move, a movement dedicated to improving access to prosthetic care and active living for all.

EVENT DETAILS:
SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!
An 8-hour endurance mountain bike race beginning at 8 am on the Warnaar Trail at Meyer Broadway Park in Three Rivers, MI.
four-person relay team categories.
No bike category or restrictions. (No E-bikes, sorry.)
Professional timing.
No swag bags (you'd just throw it all away anyway.) Some guy named Nathan once said - "Give me an option to save money on registration and skip your ill-fitting Gildan 80-grit sandpaper t-shirt that will go to a landfill." So that's what we did. No swag = Money savings.
No prize money.
Top riders/teams from each category will win a "fabulous" something.
8:00 AM mass start. Well, kinda. 8:00 AM for solo and two person teams, 8:03 AM for four person teams.
No restrictions on team member laps. Switch every lap, switch every 10 laps, trick one team member into doing the whole thing... whatever.
Pit row available for team tents.
The race directors, should they choose to race, receive an automatic two lap head start. They work hard and deserve it. ;)
Professional race photos will be provided by a person with a camera. Ok, the photos may not be professional, but if we can talk someone into taking photos, there will be photos.
The party starts at 12:00 PM with food and beverages in the beer garden. Yes, you will still be stuck on the course until 4 pm, but your family and friends that are there to heckle you will be hungry. They may also want a beer. Also, have you ever heard of a beer hand-up between laps?
All racers will receive 2 drink tickets and 1 food ticket. Food and beverages will be available to purchase for a very very affordable price for all spectators.
Stick around in the afternoon to celebrate your feats of strength in the beautiful Meyer Broadway park with music and the aforementioned food and drink.
We can't wait to see you there.

Join the No Surrender Running Club for its 5k & 10k race + 1 Mile Fun Run and celebrate movement as a community! The event will start and end at the Kroc Center and follow the Plaster Creek Trail.
For over 10 years, No Surrender Running Club has been the only West Michigan organization that builds and expands access to movement for all by breaking down barriers to sport and play. By doing this, No Surrender knows it can empower youth, strengthen families, connect communities, and build representation in sport. With its first ever race, No Surrender aims to center communities of color, break down barriers to participation in running events, create a fun environment where community members can move alongside one another, and build representation in running.
We're so excited to see you run, walk, or roll at the only race in 49507!

The Wurst Kilometer was dreamed up after one too many at Meantime in Detroit. It’s one brat, one mliko and one highly questionable kilometer. Its the kind of thing that shouldn’t exist but now that
it does, you know you want to try it. Just like its daddy race, all proceeds after cost will be donated to Rebel Dogs Detroit. Unlike its daddy, there are no laps involved. You know you want to give it a shot. Also, it is the wurst kilometer, so it’s happening mid-afternoon in August.
Registration includes a race day tank and sticker, brat and mliko.

AMENITIES
EVENT OVERVIEW
Pedals and Passport is the signature event of the Metro 313 Cyclones - Major Taylor Detroit. This fun international event and historic path of the Underground Railroad focuses on scenic cycling just across the United States border in the country of Canada.
When you travel from the Motor City of Detroit, Michigan, you will be treated to some fantastic and low elevation cycling as you venture into Canada’s most southern city of Windsor, Ontario. Whether you take the Ambassador Bridge and be treated with a breathtaking city landscape of two countries or decide to drive through the tunnel underneath the Detroit River, our Canadian friends will be ready to receive you.
Pedals and Passport has three route options that will take you through some of the historic cities that were originally part of the northern portion of the Underground Railroad (Go Visit AMHERSTBURG FREEDOM MUSEUM). All routes will start and end at Malden Park. From there, the mostly flat and smooth terrain will take you southeast to the cities of Amherstburg, Colchester, and Kingsville, Ontario, with coastal views of the Detroit River, windmill laden farms and wine vineyards, and relaxing overlooks of Lake Erie. Make sure you have your PASSPORT or enhanced driver's license to cross the border.

GROUP RIDE ETIQUETTE
If you ride with the Cyclone Led Group, please follow the ride leader at the pace that is set. Each group led option will have sweepers to ensure no one is left behind.
Cycling in a group can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, but it's essential to maintain clear communication with your fellow riders to ensure everyone's safety and comfort.
One effective way to communicate is through hand signals, which can indicate upcoming turns, stops, or potential hazards on the road. Be sure to use these signals well in advance of any action, giving your fellow cyclists ample time to react.
Verbal cues, such as calling out "slowing," "stopping," or "car back," can also be beneficial in alerting others to changes in the group's movements or approaching vehicles.
Proper road etiquette is equally important when riding with a group this summer. Always ride predictably and maintain a steady line, avoiding sudden movements that could cause confusion or accidents.
When passing another rider, announce your intention by calling out "on your left" and ensure you have ample room to overtake safely.
Adhere to traffic rules and regulations, including stopping at stop signs and red lights, and yielding to pedestrians. By practicing proper communication and road etiquette, you can contribute to a safer, more enjoyable group cycling experience for everyone involved.
SAFETY – IT’S EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY!
Pedals and Passport is an open road course, so cyclists will be riding with vehicular traffic and must obey traffic laws. All cyclists are required to wear a helmet. To help ensure your safety on ride day, there will be directional signage and map routes available online. If you prefer to ride as a group, there will be ride leaders and sweepers on each route leaving at specific times.
PLEASE NOTE: Stretches of the Pedals and Passports route will be along Essex County Road 20 with limited bike and shoulder lanes. It is acceptable for cyclists in Windsor to safely assume the right lane and for cars to pass via the left lane. You will see signs like the one below or something similar throughout the route. Please use discretion when attempting to pass other riders or traveling in a peloton.

About 3/4 into the ride you may refuel if needed at the Adams Sports Medicine Feed Station.
While there are no podiums for this event (those with the top finish times will have bragging rights!), ALL finishers are rewarded with a colorful aluminum sign with the name of a road from the route that they can proudly display at home.
