From big races to Saturday morning group runs—find walking events and connect with the local endurance sports community.
Overview: People decide they want to learn how or to improve their existing skills with walking or running a 5K in time for fall races. Join the Baltimore Road Runners to do just that, plus meet new friends and have a lot of fun!
Goals and Purposes: The 5K Training Group is designed for six groups of people.
· Walkers who want to complete their first 5K
· Walkers who have completed a 5K, but want to improve their skills
· Those who want to learn how to run a 5K
· Runners who have run a 5K, but want to improve their skills
· Those who want to return from an injury utilizing the safety of a structured program
· Families who want to run together in a structured environment
· Under the leadership of experienced, certified coaches, runners will be introduced to topics such as proper running form, clothing choices, pacing, hill strategy, hydration, static and dynamic stretching, and more.
· A 10-week schedule will be provided to all participants. Participants self-identify which group they want to join, and may change groups at will.
Workouts:
· A 10 week schedule will be provided to all participants.
· Both walkers and runners will be introduced to intervals, where they walk faster or run for a specified time period, then walk briskly to recover for a specified time.
· The speed-walking/running time will be increased and the recovery time decreased as the training progresses. The distances will also be increased during the training.
Location:
o The group will meet at the track.
o Time: 7:00 P.M.
o Runners should bring their own water.
o Instead of canceling, we will meet indoors when the “feels-like” temperature is at 85° or above, as per RRCA guidelines.
o For consistency, we’ll use the reading on The Weather Channel App, set to Towson, MD 21204, where Carver is located.
o Cancellation and change of location decisions will be made by 5:00 PM, and will be posted on the BRRC Facebook page and sent out via registered runner group email.
Saturday mornings

What is a Tunnel to Towers Climb?
The Tunnel to Towers Climb Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! For more information on the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation please visit t2t.org.
How far is a Tunnel to Towers Climb ?
A T2T climb attempts to have participants ascend the same number of floors as were in the Twin Towers, which were at 110 floors. This is not a requirement and many of our climbs only reach 60 - 70 floors. As this event is in Johnny Unitas Stadium, participants will need to complete five stair sections (laps) of the bleachers of the north concourse.

Join runners and walkers alike for Downtown Towson’s only 5K, a spirited community race held in cooperation with the Baltimore County Police and featuring both a 5K run and a 1-mile walk for all ages and abilities. Celebrate community, get moving through the heart of Towson, and show your support for the men and women who serve and protect Baltimore County.
Held every year on Father's Day Weekend, the 5K brings the community together on GBMC’s campus in support of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. GBMC’s NICU, one of the largest in the area, cares for more than 400 babies annually and is nationally recognized for groundbreaking research in neonatal intensive care. In 2021, GBMC opened a Special Care Nursery as an extension of the NICU for newborns who need additional support and care prior to discharge.
Welcome to the 19th Annual Jessica Meredith Jacobsen Memorial 5k & Fun Walk! For nearly two decades, our community has gathered every September to turn a tragic loss into a powerful legacy of support. Whether you are chasing a personal best or enjoying a morning stroll with the family, your footsteps directly support the House of Ruth Maryland, ICS Tuition Assistance, and Father O’Neill Charities.
The race and walk will begin at our host school, Immaculate Conception School, in Towson, MD, at 8:00 AM. The race and walk will follow the same course as last year. We will also include a virtual race option for all participants who prefer the flexibility of participating when and where it is convenient for them.
T-shirt and bib pickup will be on September 17th and September 18th at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 616 W. Seminary Ave, Lutherville, MD 21093, between 3:00-7:00 PM.
Free parking for the event will be available in the garage on Ware Ave. on race day.
Online registration for the 5K and Fun Walk will close at 8:00 PM on 9/18/26. Limited race day registration on 9/19/26 will be available until 7:30 AM. After this time, we cannot guarantee your registration. If you would like to donate to the race, donations will be accepted after 9/19/26.
T-Shirt: A t-shirt with the Knight logo is guaranteed for those who register by September 5, 2026. Registrations after this date will not receive a t-shirt.
