Welcome! I’m your Race Director, Tom Wilkas. We are pleased to bring you both the original Pat Griskus Sprint Triathlon, which started in 1987, and the Olympic distance race, which was conceived in
Key folks include: Dave Heller, Robin Griskus, Laura Griskus, Marty Cashin, Mike Maximenko, Dave Kunces, Kim Tessier, Jeff Sheldon, Tom Hill, Jim O’Rourke, Chris Hibbs, Sandra Heller, Kristin Heller, Meghan Curley, Tim Cipriano, Tim Ruh, Karen Mcwhirt, Rob Scott, Eric Pattison and Others. Pat Griskus was an amazing guy and credited with paving the way for the many amputee athletes to follow.
Both races are USAT Sanctioned and are held at Quassy Amusement Park on Route 64 in Middlebury, CT. The Sprint distance starts with a half-mile swim in spring-fed Lake Quassapaug, enjoy the challenging 10.5 mile bike around the lake, and the out-and-back 3.1 mile run. There is a First Timers division for those tackling their first Triathlon ever, with medals for all first time finishers. With close to 100 first-timers each year, this race has become a favorite for first time triathletes!
The Olympic distance race features a clean and clear one mile lake swim in Lake Quassapaug, enjoy a 25 mile challenging one loop bike course through classic New England farm country, and a 6.2 mile run on shaded back roads.

Now in its fourth edition, the 2026 Endless Mountains Adventure Race is returning to its roots as a five-day non-stop expedition race. This year's race will be headquartered out of North Adams, MA,
and the course will take you on an entirely new journey of southern Vermont. Over those five days, teams will get to explore rolling mountains, lush forests, majestic waterways, iconic gravel, and twisty single track on a course that calls to mind the Untamed New England expeditions of years past and pairs it with the classic Rootstock flair that you have come to expect from Endless.
Endless Mountains is the setting to challenge veteran adventure racers and offer an accessible entry point to those eager to take on their first expedition race. Teams of 2-4 will journey across some of New England's best adventure-land. Along the way, they will be called upon to work together to meet the challenges that only expedition racing can offer – challenging overland navigation, wild terrain, sleepmonsters, and weather that can tame even the most hardened outdoor enthusiasts. It is in those moments where the best stories are written!

Cedar Lake Triathlon Summer 2026 Season - Race #3
This is the third of our 6 race summer series held every other Thursday night at Cedar Lake for local, grassroots racing at its best.
For 2026, we
will offer two races:
Individual and Relay Sprint Triathlon: Our individual and relay sprint triathlons consists of a 500(ish) yard lake swim, a 10 mile bike, and a 5k road run. They are perfect races for first timers who want to see what they can achieve, experienced triathletes looking to fine tune for a longer fall race, or anyone who just wants an active, family summer Thursday evening. We have awards for both the fast and the first (timers), and lots for those in between. Relay teams are welcome and celebrated. Wetsuits are encouraged when the water temperature is below 80 degrees, and strongly encouraged for at least the first two races. Aqua jogging is not permitted.
Super Sprint Triathlon: Returning for its second season is our popular super sprint race: all of the triathlon experience just in a smaller package! The super sprint consists of a 200(ish) yard swim, a 5mile bike, and a 1.7 mile run. First timers love this race: you can start your Thursday as a regular human, finish it as a Triathlete, and let us share the joy of your success with special prizes (and a whole lot of positive energy!!). Younger races are welcome, but you have to be 13 to toe the line. And we love families. If your child is racing, you can race with them for free as long as you accompany them for the entire race. Swim, bike and run with your child; it's a priceless family experience.
Gun Times:
Super Sprint: 6:10 p.m
Individual / Relay Sprint: 6:15 p.m.
Preregistration: Racers must preregister. Register early to secure both a spot and a lower entry fee, which will increase on race day. Last season, the races sold out several times and once we hit our cap, we can't accept any more entries.
Online registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on each race day. There will be no onsite registration this year.
Race day check in starts at 5:00 p.m. and all registered racers must be checked in by 5:45 p.m.
First Time? Come on down to Cedar Lake!! We love first timers and a significant part of our weekly field of racers are athletes getting their feet wet for the first time. In transition, you will see every type of bike racked and ready to race: from expensive carbon TT bikes headed for an Ironman to hybrid bikes and even the occasional beach cruiser. Not sure you can do a triathlon? Finding out is half the fun. Over 95% of our racers finish each week. We don't use cutoff times, except for later in the season as the sun starts to set earlier (typically the last race or two). Not sure exactly how it works? We have lots of friendly experienced volunteers and even a certified tri coach on site on race days to explain the mysteries of buoy turns, transition and equipment. Before you race, be sure that you can swim 20 pool lengths without stopping for the full sprint, or 10 pool lengths for the super sprint. Aqua jogging is not permitted.
Come join us this summer!
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather on race day, the race organizers reserve the right to change the race to a duathlon, a 5K or cancel the race.

The TVFR Woodland Trail Series will be in its 28th year. The event takes place at West Hill Dam in Uxbridge MA in the early evenings on the last Thursday of June, July and August.

race on well-marked courses through single/double track trails and gravel roads. Each race will offer a different course to experience all West Hill has to offer.
The Trail Series is designed for runners. If you plan to walk any part of the course, we ask that you notify us and plan on starting earlier than the posted start times. This is to help keep our volunteers from being out on the course for longer than required.
Run all 3 races and be eligible for the overall male and female championship.
There will be no Day-Of Registration. Each race will be limited to 125 runners. Parking is limited, please arrive early to get to the designated parking area. The gate access to the start area will close approximately at 5:30. Limited parking is available at the Dam entrance but it's a 3/4 mile warmup run to the start line.
For safety and insurance reasons we can not allow dogs to participate in the race. Also, note that the course is not stroller friendly.

The 24-hour Endless Mountains Adventure Race Lite is a one-day expedition-style event that will take racers on a journey through southern Vermont. Trek, bike, packraft, and navigate along the state's
sweeping vistas, cascading waterways, rich history of our nation's complex industrial past, and rugged terrain.
As an expedition-style event, Endless-Lite will offer longer stages, a point-to-point format, and more self-sufficiency - both an accessible entrypoint into the world of multi-day racing and a standalone adventure in its own right!
The race will take place on Friday, June 26 to Saturday, June 27, with the finish line coinciding with the end of the five-day Endless Mountains Adventure Race, a qualifying event for the Adventure Racing World Series. Race alongside some of the top adventure racers in the world (and those who are setting off on their first expedition race) and get a taste of what Vermont's Green Mountains have to offer
