This year, the Kappa Delta chapter at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be hosting its annual Shamrock Fun Run in support of Faith House of Acadiana and Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA)! Our big event will take place on March 21st, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Intramural Complex at UL Lafayette. We will provide free food and drinks, raffle prizes, games, live music, local vendors, and so much more! The run itself is one mile long, and participants may run, jog, or leisurely walk the route. 80% of all event proceeds will stay right here in our own community to fund the incredible work done by Faith House of Acadiana. Without your generosity, Faith House of Acadiana would not be able to help survivors of domestic violence in the extraordinary ways that they do. The remaining 20% of event proceeds will go to Prevent Child Abuse America, which is the leading advocate for preventing child abuse and neglect among our nation’s children since 1972. Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 to

support these amazing causes, so every bit of your support is greatly appreciated! We are looking forward to seeing you on March 21st!

Acadiana's Oldest half marathon is the most beautiful running course in Lafayette. Runners have the options between either road races or trail races. The road race distance options include: 1/2 marathon, 10k or 5k; while the trail running options include 5k or 10k.

Run and support TRAIL's investments and efforts in Acadiana Park & Nature Station. Do really well and win an alligator head.

Visit www.CajunCountry.RUN for details about the various courses, parking, and general information about Acadiana Park & Nature Station.

The Cajun Country Run (CCR) started in 2002 and became a primary supporter of TRAIL in 2010. Today the event now offers 5 running options. The road race options include a half marathon (a single loop and USATF certified), a 10K (USATF certified) and 5K. Two trail courses include a 10K & 5K that offer a mix cross country and single track sections. The 10K course will take you on some technical sections along the banks of the Vermilion River.

The hallmark of the CCR is the home made alligator head trophies, compliments of Cajun Ben The original half marathon course was a double loop course that included 4 miles of cross country running. In 2014 we changed the half marathon course to an all road single loop course and got it certified by the USATF.

Proceeds from the CCR have allowed T.R.A.I.L. to do work in and around Acadiana Park. In 2012 T.R.A.I.L. purchased property to add to the Acadiana Park & Nature Station. TRAIL has also help fund some improvements to the mountain bike trail system built and maintained by Mountain Bike Lafayette.
