  • Runners Registering for the Full, Half or Relay can sign up for the 5K Race. Runners registered for a Sunday event & the 5K event will receive a separate Race Bib & Race Shirt for Saturday, March 6th & Sunday, March 7th, 2027

  • This event will be Chip Timed by Pelican Timing

1 Mile:

  • All Participants receive Race Bib, Finisher's Ribbon (upon completion of the race) on Saturday, March 6, 2027

  • This event will not be timed.

LATE REGISTRATION – Late Registration will be offered at Packet Pick-Up. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY.

DEADLINE– Packet pickup is the last chance for registration. Friday, February 12, 2027 is the last day to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt with your registration.

CONFIRMATION– There will be confirmation support through the RunSignUp website once registration has started.

DEFERRAL POLICY– There will be a $25 fee to defer registration to the next year's race. The deadline for deferral is March 6, 2027 at midnight. Once deferred, the registrant is ineligible for the following year's early registration promos, and the items (Shirt, Bib, etc) from the deferred year's race are forfeited. Registrants may only defer one consecutive year. Instructions on how to defer your registration. Click on Manage Registration in your confirmation email. Choose Defer Registration at the top of the page and follow instructions.

NO REFUND POLICY - Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, you may not give or sell your race number to anyone else.

-DISTANCE SWITCHES-

UPGRADE from the Half Marathon to the Full Marathon – There will be a fee to upgrade from the Half Marathon to the Full Marathon to make up for the cost difference between the two distances. The deadline to upgrade is March 5, 2027. Instructions on how to defer your registration. Click on Manage Registration in your confirmation email. Choose Transfer Event at the top of the page and follow instructions.

DOWNGRADE for the Full Marathon to the Half Marathon – There are no refunds given to downgrade from the Full Marathon to the Half Marathon. There may be a fee if the cost difference is greater for the Half than you paid for the Full at the time of the original registration. The deadline to downgrade is March 5, 2027. Instructions on how to defer your registration. Click on Manage Registration in your confirmation email. Choose Transfer Event at the top of the page and follow instructions.

THERE WILL BE NO DISTANCE SWITCHED BETWEEN SATURDAY EVENTS & SUNDAY EVENTS!

-RACE RULES-

Age Requirements- On the day of the race participants must meet the minimum age requirements. Half Marathon Participants must be at least 13 years old on the day of the race to participate. Full Marathon participants must be at least 15 years old on race day to participate

No Refund Policy- Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, you may not give or sell your race number to anyone else, and you may not transfer your entry fee to future races.

Readiness- You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge of a Marathon or Half Marathon. Each runner is responsible for knowing their capabilities and limitations. The weather is south Louisiana in March can vary from 40 F and rainy to 80 F and near 100% humidity.

Identification- You must show a photo ID to receive your race number and timing chip.

Packet Pickup- All items must be picked up at Packet Pick-Up. We can not mail your items to you.

Race Numbers- Race numbers are required to participate.

Effort- The effort must be your own. No coaches, handcycles, bikes, in-line skates, skateboards, baby joggers, or dogs will be allowed on the course.

Secure Zone There is a secure, sectioned-off area, located immediately after the finish line where runners get their photos taken & receive their medals. No Spectators or Family Members are allowed in this area!

    This race is a tradition, for all endurance fiends! 1/2 mile of swimming in Airport Lake, 20 miles of pedaling on the roads of Lafayette Parish, and 3.1 miles on foot through the grounds of the Lafayette Regional Airport. Whether a beginner doing their first open water triathlon or an experienced triathlete looking for one of the best races on the Gulf Coast, this is the event!!

    Race Distances

    The SWIM -- 1/2 mile or 400 meter beginner

    This is an open water swim. Water temperatures will most likely be in the mid-70F range. Use of wet suits is subject to USA Triathlon rules. The wetsuit call will be made after temperatures are taken race morning. Bring your wetsuit if you are so inclined. There will be boats and other water safety aid available during the swim. You should be able to swim at least ½ mile before deciding to enter this event. All swimmers will be required to wear swim caps, which will be provided.

    THE BIKE -- 20 miles

    New and improved route that avoids the worst sections on Garber Rd. All turns will be marked. Volunteers will be on the course but you are to stay aware of the surroundings and to know the course.

    THE RUN -- 5K (3.1 miles)

    The run will start and finish near the transition area near Airport Lake. The course will include the roads within the Lafayette Regional Airport. The course will be marked and volunteers will be on the course. There will be at least 2 possibilities to pass an aid station on the run. THERE ARE 3 WATER ON THE RUN. AT THE START OF THE RUN, MILE 1, HALF-WAY, MILE 2 AND RIGHT BEFORE THE FINISH. The aid stations will offer water, fluid replacement drinks, and encouragement.

    Relay Teams

    Don't want to do the whole race? Come race as a team! Each team member will compete in one of the individual sports. Relay teams must have a minimum of 2 participants. (Yes, one team member can do 2 sports while the other team member does the other sport.)

    USA Triathlon Sanctioned Race

    This race is being sanctioned with USAT. You, including all relay team members, must be a licensed USA Triathlon member at the time of registration or buy a one-day license to participate for $15.00. you can buy one one our website in the store along with your registration. NOT NECESSARY FOR 5K

    Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch provided by one or more of our sponsors. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on a pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.
