WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?! WE LET THE DOGS OUT!!

Join us for the inaugural Tangi Animal Friends Wag, Walk and Run 5K & 1 Mile Dog Walk & Fun Run presented by Stafford Veterinary Hospital.

This is a dog friendly event to raise funds for Tangi Animal Friends.

Tangi Animal Friends is a local 501c3 non-profit group that has partnered with many local veterinary hospitals & rescues, such as Stafford Veterinary Hospital, Crossroads Cat Clinic, Dog People of Livingston, Saints SPCA, and Purrs of Hope in providing financial assistance towards the spay and neutering of dogs and cats in the Parishes of Tangipahoa, Livingston, St. Helena and Washington. Their focus is to provide pet parents who demonstrate financial need with access to low cost spay and neuter options. They also help US Veteran pet parents! They help initiatives such as rabies vaccines, microchipping and pet food instability and intervene in emergency situations involving medical care and food assistance.

This race is not just about the Hooomans, it's about the DOGS!! (TAF does help with cats for spay/neuter, but have you ever tried to get a cat to walk on a leash? Yeah...we thought so. So, this is just a Dog Walk folks--no cats allowed.)

Course

WE HAVE A LITTLE CHANGE OF SCENERY...The course will be an out and back starting & finishing at North Oak Park.

1 Mile Dog Walk

Get your pup ready to Wag, Walk & Run!

The 1 Mile is a dog friendly dog walk with a Hoooman option to run.

The first 3 kids 13 & under to cross the finish line will be awarded with a custom gold, silver or bronze medal. AND YOUR PUP WILL GET A FINISHERS MEDAL TOO!!

5K Run

The 5K will be a chipped timed event! The 5K is ONLY for the Hoomans--NO DOGS ALLOWED. This is for the safety of all participants and pets.

Awards and Finisher Medals

5K Overall Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, Male & Female.

Age group awards will be presented for the following age groups, male/female: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

ALL HOOOMAN FINISHERS OF THE 1 MILE AND THE 5K WILL RECEIVE A CUSTOM FINISHER'S MEDAL.

There is a $5.00 discount when you sign up to participate in both the 5K & 1 Mile Dog Walk & Fun Run. Walk the 1 Mile with your pup, then run the 5K with all your hoooman friends.

Other Awards and contests

But wait! The fun doesn't stop there. We will have the traditional water and post race food of course, but we have some fun contests planned too.

We will have the Largest Group Award. So, get your group together and sign up!

We will also have an Owner & Pet look-alike contest, and Best Dressed Pup contest with prizes from Chewy & Bark Box.

There will also be a backdrop for a photo opp with you and your pup and your finisher's medals, as well as several rescue groups on site to answer any questions you may have about adoptions. (Actual dogs for adoption will NOT be on site, but the groups will have photos and information about the dogs and cats they do have for adoption.)

T-shirts--If you love to collect race t-shirts you will have an option to purchase when you register. T-shirts are also available for purchase through the store tab under the "More" button on the race registration website.

February is Spay & Neuter month so get registered and support a great cause! Can't wait to see your there!!

The Hammond Rotary's Charity Shamrock Run, will offer runners an opportunity to run the 1-mile and 5K/10K. This year's course will be at the Renaissance Festival grounds in Hammond, Louisiana (46468 River Rd, Hammond, LA 70401). The 5K/10K will take you on roads around the festival and then around the small lake, through the Renaissance Village. T-Shirts are now optional, if you desire a t-shirt, add it on in check out! Please register by Monday, February 23rd, 2026 to guarantee that you'll get your desired size. We always order extra T's for late registration, but sizes will not be guaranteed after Feb 27th.

Start time for 1-Mile Fun Run is 8:00AM. 5K and 10K start time is 8:30AM. Walkers are welcome to participate in the 1 mile and 5K events! Due to time constraints, walkers are not allowed in the 10K.

We will have finisher medals for all 5K and 10K runners! We also have the following awards for: The top 3 overall male & female runners in the 5K and 10K (male & Female), 1st place in the 1 mile run Male & Female. 1st place in each age group (Male & Female). Age groups for 5K & 10K will be: 19 & Under. 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. We will also have an 80+ age group for the 5K only.

We will also have special awards for the Best Costume and the Biggest Team, as well as, our unique "Beat the Leprechaun" challenge in the 10K. Beat our leprechaun in the 10K run and pick from the "Pot Of Gold" prizes donated by many of our sponsors!

Packet pick-up will be Thursday March 19th, 2025 from 10:00am-5:30pm, Alexis Ducorbier - State Farm Insurance, 304 Old Covington Hwy, Hammond, LA 70403 . Packets and T-shirts will be available race morning if you can't make it on Thursday, however, race morning lines tend to be long. Get your packet ahead of time to help us minimize the race morning lines.

Race Day Packet pick-up starts at 7:00am. We suggest picking up at least 1/2 hour before your race time.

Parking will be on the grounds of the Renaissance Festival.
