Triathlon Course includes a 100m pool swim, followed by a 12 mile bike route on River Road, and finishing with a 2 mile run through the Pointe Marie development.
The Duathlon starts with the 1 mile run, then the same 12 mile bike as the Triathlon, with a final 2 mile run.
USAT SANCTIONED RACE. NO REFUNDS, DEFERRALS and/or TRANSFERS for any reason, sorry. RKF reserves the right to cancel or modify the event based on inclement weather or other events that impact event safety (when the levee springs a leak). This is done at the discretion of the Race Director. Note: We simply cannot issue refunds due to cancellation because by race day, all funds have been used to prepare for the race. We are obligated to pay for those resources if the event is held or not. But there is good news of sorts....
ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT BENEFIT THE ROCKETKIDZ FOUNDATION, A NONPROFIT DEDICATED TO CREATING AND SUSTAINING ACTIVE, FIT AND HEALTHY KIDS, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES. Any remaining funds generated by this race are used to fund area programs that benefit child and family health and fitness.
Welcome to Chix/Kidz triathlon weekend. We are excited about for our 4th year at Pointe Marie. We will have chip timing m. Results will be for start/finish and will not include splits but will allow for us to determine awards for each division. We will award 1st/2nd/3rd Male and Female for Falcons, Sputniks, Apollo, and Saturn. We use AGE ON RACE DAY TO DETERMINE DIVISIONS. Additionally, if your child is in a "Beginner division" 10 minutes will be added to their time to determine eligibility for awards in their division. Beginner divisions are for racers that require the assistance of a parent and/or flotation devices and/or training wheels.
Kidz is for racers ages 3-14 yrs old (based on their age on RACE DAY). Your child's age tells you what division they race in (Falcon/Sputnik/Apollo/Saturn) and their division tells you how far they have to go to complete each leg of the race.
Cancellation/Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS. We purchase supplies/goodies for this race well in advance of the event and cannot offer refunds. Racers can transfer their entry to another racer as long as there is availability for that division. Transfers are allowed until 7/15/26. Use the "Contact Us" link to get assistance with a transfer.
This race will not be rescheduled. The cancellation of this event is at the discretion of race directors. Cancellation will occur if thunder or lightning is present in the area. We will do everything in our power to allow the event to take place, but we will not compromise the safety of our little racers. Cancellation is done on the morning of the event from the race site. We may delay the start if needed to accommodate a storm in the area.

SWIM
The swim course will be a double loop clockwise swim that begins and ends at the floating dock. Starting at 6:45 a.m. we will have a designated swim warm up area for your use with safety personnel managing the area. The entire course is not open for warm up. Athletes will enter and exit False River at the floating dock. Athletes will be staged along the grass area behind the ramp.
We will have safety personnel on the course. You may hang on to kayaks and paddle boards to catch your breath but cannot use them to make any forward progress. Your safety is our primary concern, and we urge you to raise your hand to alert safety personnel if you are in distress. Similarly, if you observe another athlete in clear distress, please stop and alert safety personnel. Upon exiting the swim course, you will run straight up the gangway of the floating dock and along the carpeted area leading to the stairs to access the transition area.
Self-Seeded Start
Athletes will seed themselves according to swim pace. Swimmers will enter the water 1 at a time, every 3 seconds.
Waves
The swim is a time trial start.
BIKE
The bike course is an out-and-back around False River. Remember that all the roads on the bike course will remain open to traffic throughout the race. We will have police and volunteers at major intersections, but you are still to ride with safety as your primary priority. Every turn on the course will be marked with signs to the right side of the road, as well as orange marks in the road.
There will be SAG support vehicles on the bike course providing assistance with minor mechanical issues throughout the day.
RUN
River Roux run course (coming soon!). There will be 4-5 aid stations on the course. We will be serving water, Powerade, and gels (variety of flavors) at all aid stations.
