In recognition of World Hearing Day, the UK Otolaryngology & Audiology World Hearing Day 5K raises awareness of hearing and balance health, promotes prevention and early intervention, and supports patient-centered care, education, and research—while also helping provide access to hearing aids and hearing care for individuals who may face financial barriers.

Join our 3rd Annual Strides Against Blood Cancer 5K to benefit the Blood Cancer United!

Our race will start behind the Embassy Suites North Lexington so come straight to the hotel for convenient/easy parking.

Blood Cancer United (Formerly Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) is a global leader in the fight against blood cancer. John's Run/Walk Shop and Altra present the Kentucky Trail Run Series. Join us for group runs on a variety of local trails. Participants will be eligible for prizes, including Altra shoes!

All trail-running ability levels are welcome. The courses will be out-and-back to allow participants to run any distance they want. Snacks will be provided.

Giveaways

Participants will receive prizes based on the number of trail runs they attend. And, we will have Altra demo shoes at the runs so you can try out their awesome trail shoes before you buy!

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026, for the 11th Annual Horse Capital Marathon & Half Marathon. Run on one of the most beautiful marathon/half marathon courses in the United States, passing over 50 Central Kentucky horse farms. You will never be out of sight of a horse farm!

Our race will start at 7:30am from the Kentucky Horse Park Campground Area. A short section (beginning and end of the race) will be on the Legacy Trail with 98% being in scenic Central Kentucky country roads passing by 50+ Central Kentucky horse farms.

This race will be staged in Lexington, Kentucky, commonly referred to as the Horse Capital of the World. Our Marathon/Half Marathon will begin together at 7:30am and will have a 6-hour maximum duration (per our city permit). This means that those competing in the marathon must keep a 14 minute 30 second/mile pace or better to complete the race in time.

Pick up for family/friends is fine and encouraged. The more that can pick up on Thursday/Friday the better. No credentials or ID necessary.

All in-person and virtual participants will receive a 11th Annual commemorative performance/technical shirts and finishers' medals and a run through a beautiful, rolling course through Horse County.

Our race benefits Bluegrass Farms Charities who are the "Heart & Hands of Thoroughbred Racing." Founded in 2003, Blue Grass Farms Charities is a unique 501(c)(3)nonprofit dedicated to providing health and human services to people working in Central Kentucky's Thoroughbred ​industry.

HOTELS NEAR RACE VENUE There are 8-10 hotels located within 3 miles of the Kentucky Horse Park (Including Fairfield Inn, Embassy Suites, Marriott Griffin Gate Resort, GLo Hotel, La Quinta Inn, Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, Residence Inn by Marriott). We do not have any room blocks with these hotels as it is horse racing season at Keeneland Race Track so the hotels don't enter into those arrangements in April. Lace up your non-slip shoes and grab a hairnet because its race time! Our 6th Annual Lunch Lady Hustle 5K and the 1/4 mile Kids Dash will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 8:15am at Coldstream Park/Legacy Trail in Northwest Lexington. We can’t wait to see you there!

This race is being presented by the Fayette County School Nutrition Association . FCSNA is a non-profit organization that aides local school nutrition employees and public school students. FCSNA provides annual student scholarships, employee scholarship, and multiple recognition awards. We offer continuing education for our members to develop their career skill sets while offering a localized sense of community. Our members and fellow child nutrition professionals have maintained their dedication throughout the pandemic. We have worked tirelessly to provide meals for adolescents and will continue to do so throughout 2021. If it wasn't known before 2020, it is now clear that some heroes do indeed, wear aprons instead of capes. 100% of proceeds and donations from our race will bolster our student & employee scholarship program.

SOCIAL TEAMS Expand your race experience and SAVE $3.00 on your registration by starting or joining a social team when you register. Teams of 5 or more members enable team pricing which will save each member of the team $3.00. The first 4 members of the team will have their credit/debit card credited $3.00 when the 5th person joins the team. We'll also have a prize for the largest team. Team members can participate in either the 5K Run/Walk, Kids Dash or Virtual.

PACKET PICKUP We will hold our only packet pickup on the morning of the race from 7:15-8:45am at Coldstream Park. No credentials or paperwork are necessary to pick up your packet.

BEST DRESSED LUNCH LADY Channel your favorite lunch lady from the past. Circa 1970’s. We’ll have a fun prize for the best dressed “lady”.

5K ROUTE MAP

Course is an out and back on paved/concrete trail surfaces with very little elevation change. There are two hydration stations along the route at Mile 1.4 and 1.9. Common Start/Finish location on the east end of the Coldstream Dog Park area.

Join us for the 4th annual Run For Hope 5K at Coldstream Park on Sunday, May 17, 2026 as we raise funds and awareness to provide hope to individuals and families through compassionate clinical counseling.

Our race is being held during the month of May which is Mental Health Awareness Month.
