Indianapolis is known for its love of speed, sport, and big events, and the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is no exception. For over 20 years, this iconic race has earned its place as one of the nation’s largest half marathons, even making Runner’s World’s list of America's Most Iconic Races and USAToday's 10Best Half Marathon.
Every May, more than 20,000 participants take over the streets of Indy for The Greatest Spectacle in Running® taking place over Indy Mini Weekend. The race kicks off with a pace car leading each wave, and the flat, fast course is lined with thousands of friendly volunteers and over 50 entertainment acts. One of the best parts – a 2.5-mile lap around the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indy 500. Many runners stop to kiss the Yard of Bricks, embracing a fun, meaningful race-day tradition.
2026 marks the 50th Running of the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, a race that’s seen everything from Olympians like Frank Shorter and Meb Keflezighi to families running and walking together in celebration. Be part of the tradition, and join us on May 2, 2026.

We had another wonderful day on Campus in 2025 for our Bulldog Jog - the 6th year of our partnership race with Butler University and Indy Runners and Indy Walkers running club! We're looking forward to even more fun in 2026.
And we'll have Butler Blue, Butler Cheer and Hink, and the Butler Pep Band out once again to support you and our Dawg Walk.
We're grateful for the generocity of participants and friends who have offered additional donations that bolster our charitable giving. This year we will once again be splitting the donations between our three beneficiaries: Butler HRC student programs, Indy Runners' Giving Back initiatives, and the Indy Humane Society.
Our 5k continues to be a nice tour through our lovely campus with a flat, fast course for racing hard if you like, or a great family event for kids as well.
Maps - available at our Indy Runners Website by Clicking Here
(We will continue to have our Virtual Option for Butler Alumni (or other Butler lovers, or Indy Runners members, or Dawg lovers for that matter) scattered across the country to be able to participate and support the cause, or for anyone Local who would like to still support our Beneficiaries, but might not be available on race day itself. We will still have race shirts for all of our Virtual participants as well (we’ll mail them to you).
Dog Note: We've had some inquiries about running with your Dog in the races. We can allow folks to run the 5k with their dog if you like - but please be careful of other runner's legs around you. But PLEASE NO DOGS IN THE 10k THROUGH NEWFIELDS. Thanks for your understanding.
Stroller Note: Also please limit the use of running strollers with young Dawg fans on board to just the 5k as well. It's a little tight on the Canal Towpath for passing, so best to stay on the wider roads of the 5k. Thanks so much.

Run2EndHunger is a inaugural family-friendly event taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026 designed to raise awareness about hunger and the powerful connection between mental, emotional and physical health.
A growing body of research shows that mental and emotional challenges such as depression, anxiety and chronic stress significantly increase the risk of preventable physical health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes and stroke (CDC). By addressing the mind-body connection, we can build healthier families and stronger communities.
Run2EndHunger invites individuals, families and community partners to come together for a meaningful day of activity, education and hope, because true wellness includes both the body and the mind.
Our mission with Run2EndHunger is to bring awareness to nourish ourselves physically and mentally. Our goal is to connect with people battling with physical hunger and mental issues. Together we run/walk for fitness and fun. Lace those shoes and walk or run alongside your family…
This event is also available for virtual participants! See below for more details. In-person and virtual runners need to sign a mandatory waiver at registration.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, 2026, for the Steps for Prevention Run/Walk in honor of Matt Breman. We’re carrying forward the legacy of the Matt Breman Run with a renewed mission: making Indiana a safer, brighter place for every child. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your support fuels vital programs like Safe Tots and Bullying Prevention. We’re aiming for $30,000 this year to help Prevent Child Abuse Indiana (PCAIN) build better childhoods across the state.
Let’s honor Matt’s legacy and run for the kids. Together, we are the solution!

Join us for the second Haiti 3 K Run/Walk to support Saint Matthew's sister parish in Haiti. The Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated launch of the 5th annual FCSN 5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember! This event takes place Thursday, April 23 in Indianapolis' White River State Park, during FDIC International.
The run/walk begins at 6:00pm, and is open to participants of all levels and backgrounds! It offers a flat, fast, and closed course that winds around the scenic Indianapolis Canal, and gives you the option to be timed. Register by Thursday, April 2nd to be guaranteed an incredible, high-quality shirt! There will also be a commemorative coin given out to our First 500 registrants!
Those not inclined to run can contribute or sponsor a team or runner via the “Donate” page on the website.
Dedicated to the memory of Chief Bobby Halton, a cherished supporter of FCSN, the 5 ALARM 5k Run to Remember is a tribute to his enduring commitment and dedication to the firefighter community. Chief Halton served as a friend, mentor, and advocate for FCSN. His personal battle with cancer connected him deeply and motivated his support in assisting firefighters and EMS providers facing a cancer diagnosis.
In Chief Halton’s honor, the Halton family will award the Bobby Halton award to the top fundraiser. This comes with a free trip to FDIC including all conference costs, lodging and transportation. All you need to do is sign up to be a fundraiser, invite your friends to donate before January 30, 2025, and you could be attending FDIC for free! (Minimum donation of $1,000 is required to be considered for the award)
The 5 ALARM 5k Run to Remember holds special significance as it not only pays homage to Chief Halton but also serves as an opportunity to remember and honor firefighters battling cancer, pay tribute to those who have passed, and celebrate those still with us in the firefighting community.
At the 2023 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, almost 66% of the names added to the wall were members who died from occupational cancer. In the same year, 72% of Line of Duty deaths among IAFF members were attributed to occupational cancer.
Proceeds directly support FCSN's mission to assist firefighters and EMS providers diagnosed with cancer. The FCSN provides crucial resources, badge-to-badge support, training, and guidance to those facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Join us in honoring Chief Bobby Halton's legacy and supporting the FCSN mission by becoming a participant or sponsor of the 5 ALARM 5k Run to Remember, or by donating. Together, we can make a difference and show our commitment to the well-being of our firefighting community.

Come join the cadets from Ben Davis High School Marine Corps JROTC in a non-timed 5k moto-run/walk. Before we start, we will have service to honor our fallen service members at 0800. Registration table will be open at 0700 to pick up your t-shirt and challenge coin. You can also purchase items separately as well, however, supplies will be limited. Run is scheduled to start shortly after the ceremony around 0830.
A little about our fundraiser, Ben Davis MCJROTC has 3 very competitive team with the program, Drill, Rifle and Raider Teams. Each year, these cadets have earned their way to compete at a National level, and this year they have done just that! However, lack of funding has always been the show stopper, but we hope to make it to Nationals this year with your help!
So what is a moto-run? It is a military style formation run with cadets who will take turns calling motivational cadences from start to finish! You have the option to run with the formation, at your own leisure or jump in the formation and break off whenever you like. Time isn't the focus here, it is all about comradery and cohesion, but you can be rest assured that you will still burn those calories while having fun! The course is a very friendly and safe route around the school campus on hard surface, but there is grass terrain along the route as well if you prefer. Don't worry about getting lost or tired, there will be cadets spread out along the route to help motivate and guide you at each water station. We will also have medics onsite along with our local recruiters from all branches of services available to provide information about military service.
All paid participants who ordered a t-shirt and a challenge coin will receive it at check in. SO LETS COME TOGETHER, THIS WILL BE A RUN TO REMEMBER!

Welcome to the 8-Hour Dream Endurance Race — Indiana’s Largest Endurance Running Event!
The Dream is a fixed-duration endurance race with one simple goal: go as far as you can in eight hours. Run, walk, or stroll — every mile counts. Held on Butler University’s iconic campus, The Dream has become the largest endurance running event in Central Indiana and continues to break participation records year after year. In fact, the event has sold out FIVE years in a row, driven by an incredibly high percentage of returning runners.
Spending a full day outside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse feels like a "running tailgate" — part competition, part celebration — all while testing your physical and mental limits. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
The Course
Throughout the day, participants can choose between:
The Long Course (5K)
The Short Course (1.91 miles)
Runners may switch between courses at any time to manage strategy, seek shade, or dial in a target distance. Both courses feature the now-famous Bulldog’s Revenge Hill, a defining challenge of The Dream.
Ways to Participate: There are three ways to be part of the action:
SOLO – Take on all eight hours yourself
TEAM – Share the challenge with teammates
Cat Nap 5K – A single-loop 5K starting at the same time as The Dream, perfect for family and friends who want to join the opening lap with SOLO runners
Team Categories & Divisions include:
Categories: Female, Male and Coed
Divisions within each category: 3–4 person team or 5–6 person team
RC Cup is Back: The coveted cup goes to a local running club logging the most miles. Four different running clubs have captured The Cup over the last seven years. Will we have a new club take home the trophy in 2026
Run Clubs must be certified nonprofit running clubs with non-profit status
Require 6-person coed teams (3 males, 3 females)
Running clubs can only enter one team in the RC Cup, but may also enter additional teams in the OPEN division
Post-Race Celebration: What truly sets The Dream apart is more than the miles: The post-race party includes a FREE cookout, live music, beer garden and the Podium Ceremonies. After a long day, free food, drink and smiles is the only way to close the book on The Dream.
Whether you’re chasing miles, cheering teammates, or soaking in the atmosphere, The Dream delivers eight unforgettable hours.

This volunteer-organized, family-friendly, fun 5K Run/Walk takes place on the beautiful, historic campus of IPS Arsenal Technical High School and aims to combine health, history and a sense of community. First-time 5k runners, young runners and children are encouraged to participate. It is a casual, mixed-terrain 5k course (asphalt, concrete, brick, grass, gravel). Race starts at 9:00 a.m., and on-site registration and bib pickup start at 8:00 a.m.
Participate along with friends, family, your neighborhood, Tech alumni, clubs and teams, or join in as an individual. Everyone is welcome! Whether this is your first 5k or your 50th, we encourage runners, walkers, and teams to enjoy the course around the historic grounds and help raise money to support students.
High school seniors who would like to be eligible for an individual scholarship need to participate in some way - either completing the race or volunteering. Race entries for students are free, but do not include a race t-shirt. Arsenal Tech Extracurricular Clubs who want to be eligible for a grant also need to have members participate, volunteer or contribute in some way. Scholarships and grant amounts are determined by the funds raised, and number of applications received.
Since its inception in 2000, the Arsenal 5K Run/Walk has donated more than $65,000 in college scholarships to Near Eastside high school seniors, and has recently begun awarding funds to extracurricular clubs at Arsenal Technical High School.
Arsenal 5k Inc., has recently incorporated as a registered 501c3 non-profit. We appreciate your continued support!
