It's Fleet Feet Bloomington vs. Fleet Feet Decatur in a showdown for the traveling trophy and bragging rights.
How It Works
The 50 miles between the two stores is your official running/walking goal for the month of February. Every mile you run (or walk) will be credited to the store of your choice. Which store has the most loyal customers, the best runners (or walkers), and are willing to help their team earn some serious street cred?! Click here to join the Challenge Facebook Group and follow along with the smack talk: www.facebook.com/groups/februaryfrostyfifty/
Sweet Swag
All participants earn a MiiR Everywhere water bottle! Bottles will be available for pick-up at your local store the first or second week of February (we'll let you know when they arrive). The winning store gets a trophy (and bragging rights). We will have a post-challenge run and celebration - stay tuned for more details.
Submitting Your Miles - Tracking Your Store's Progress
An important part of this Challenge is submitting the distance you run each week. Beginning Thursday, February 5th you will be able to log your miles. There is a spot to register your miles for each week:
-
Week 1: Feb 1 - 7
-
Week 2: Feb 8 - 14
-
Week 3: Feb 15 - 21
-
Week 4: Feb 22 - 28
Click here to Log Miles: https://runsignup.com/Race/FrostyFifty/Page/Results
50 miles is the monthly goal. If you run more than 50 record those too!!!
The miles for this challenge are running/walking miles. You may not count all day step totals, but can only count miles specifically targeted for running/walking that could be logged with a start and end on a fitness device.
The challenge ends on February 28 but you can log miles until 11:59 pm on March 2. Don't forget to log your miles - every single mile counts!
The Frosty Fifty is our local challenge, but Fleet Feet is also hosting a Nationwide Share The Run Strava Challenge in February. You can use the same miles to complete both challenges. Click here for more info.

DESCRIPTION
Race the Dead is a fun run opportunity to dress up and scare your fellow runners, hosted out of Kicks Bar and Grill in Towanda. The course is a flat 5K in length, but some don't make it past the first water stop. Scenic luminaries line the old (Dead) RT 66 course and you run past the historic haunted Towanda cemetery on this out and back course. The run is NOT officially timed, but there will be an illuminated clock at the finish line.
While the luminaries gorgeously define the course, we recommend you bring a flashlight, especially if you are a slower runner. Costumes are not required, but if you dress in your favorite Halloween costume you may win a prize.
Runners can hit the single water stop twice. The stop is located about .4 miles from the start/finish and offers water as well as some seasonal treats and refreshments.
Entry fee includes a coupon for a soft drink or beer at Kicks.
Race start is at sundown in Towanda which will be 5:53 PM this year. There could be some noise makers at the start, and depending on wind conditions the race will start +/- 60 seconds of official 5:53 PM sundown.
RACE CONTACT INFO:
Questions? Contact Kirby Cheek at [email protected] or call 309 533-8689. Leave a message and we will call you back.
