    Join us for the Strides for Strength 5k, an inspiring event hosted by Seize the Day with Hudson, NFP! This 5K race is more than just a run; it’s a heartfelt celebration of community, strength, and purpose. Together, we’ll take strides to raise awareness, promote education, and empower those in the rare disease community. Whether you’re an experienced runner, a casual jogger, or a passionate walker, this event is for everyone. With every move, you’re helping to spark understanding, honor caregivers, and promote inclusion for individuals and families affected by rare conditions. Feel the power of unity as we come together to make a difference and inspire change. Lace up your shoes, bring your loved ones, and join us in creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all. Together, we can seize the day and shine a spotlight on rare strength!

    EARLY BIRD January 27th to March 27th: $25 (includes a t-shirt)

    • $30 (includes a t-shirt up until June 13th)

    • Please note: to be guaranteed a t-shirt, you must register by June 13th!

    Event Guidelines:

    • Pets and bicycles are not allowed during the event.

    • If the race is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, we deeply appreciate your kindness for your donation!

    • Parking: Main Street Parking & Saint Patrick's Catholic Church Parking Lot

    Awards Ceremony To Follow:

    • Trophies will be awarded to the Top Male and Female Race Finishers AND Top Male and Female Sheffield Resident Finishers

    • Medals will be awarded to 1st and 2nd Place Finishers in the following age groups:

    10 & under, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71+

    Walnut 5K Run/Walk for ALS. Saturday, July 4, 2026 8:00 a.m. 323 S, Main St., Walnut, Illinois

    Starting line is in front of Bureau Valley Elementary Walnut Campus. Check in at park tent south of the school.

    All proceeds will be donated to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) research.

    RACE FEATURES: 3.1 MILES, Accurately measured, Chipped timing with a gun start, Mile marker clocks, Aid Station, Traffic control, Refreshments, T-Shirts. Computerized results!

    WALKERS ARE WELCOME & ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!!

    Check-In & Race Day Registration: 6:45-7:45 am, south of school at tent by park shelter. Please arrive early.

    Entry Fee: $20.00 and guarantee t-shirt if received by Friday, June 26.

No pets or bicycles allowed. In case of race cancellation (due to events beyond our control) we thank you for your donation.

    This chip timed 10k starts and finishes at the Putnam County Junior High School located at 13183 N 350th Ave, McNabb, IL 61335. It is an out and back 10k on nicely paved county roads surrounded by beautiful country scenery. It is possible to see deer, turkey, and eagles while running. The course is a mix of hills and flat areas. Water stations will be available on the course. Strollers and walkers welcome, but please no headphones. There will be volunteers at each mile marker and intersection for traffic control, but the course will be open to local traffic. Emergency crew coverage available. There is a two-hour time limit on the course. Post-race food and beverages provided. Race sweatshirt guaranteed to all participants who are pre-registered by October 11th, 2026. After that and through race day, a sweatshirt is not guaranteed.

    Packet Pickup and race day registration starts at 8:00am in the school cafeteria

    Entry Fee: $40 through September 27th, 2026, $45 September 28th through race day. Members of the following clubs: Starved Rock Runners, Lake Run Club, Prairie State Road Runners, and Springfield Road Runners who register online will receive a $4 discount. (No Club Discount on the EARLY BIRD Price)

    Wobble before you gobble on Thanksgiving Day by joining in on The 2025 Thanksgiving Trail Trot in Sheffield, IL!

    Dress in your best "Thanksgiving" costume, with a chance to win the prize for Best Costume!

    The untimed race will begin at 8:00 AM, with the start and finish lines located at Homecoming Park (West Park).

    The race route is primarily on wooded trails and approximately 2 miles long.

    All ages and skill levels are welcome!

    Although we do love pets, please leave your furry companions at home.

    Registration Fee

    • Ages 13+: $20

    • Ages 5-12: $10

    • Ages 4 & Under: Free

    Registration before November 13th includes a short-sleeve t-shirt.

    Long-sleeve shirt options are available for an additional $3.

    Parking

    Please park along West Park's adjacent streets, excluding Park St. & Cook St.

    Overflow parking is available at the St Patrick's Catholic Church parking lot (233 W Atkinson St, Sheffield, IL).
