Instructional League
Whether you have never curled before or are looking to get some more experience before joining league play, the Instructional League is the right place for you. This three week league will start with the basics of “learn to curl” and add on new techniques and strategies each week. By the end of the 4 weeks, you will be ready to join League play.
Each member will be placed on a team with a coach. Each session will start out with fundamental skills training and then feature a game to apply your new skills. The coaches will work with you on your on-ice skills, the etiquette of the sport, and getting you ready to play with more experienced curlers.
Best of all, you do not need to purchase any equipment to join the league. Some players may choose to get their own shoes or brooms, but that is not a requirement to be in the Instructional League. The Loggerhead Curling Club has everything that you need to get started.
Winter Instructional League Dates
March 1, 8, 15 and 22
Time 6:15p-8:45p
Spring Instructional League Dates
4/19, 5/3, 5/10, and 5/17
Time 6:15p-8:45p
How much is it?
The total cost is $100 for 4 weeks.
You will need to signup for a annual club membership which is $50. The 2026 club membership includes insurance, equipment rentals, etc. Once you have signed up for the membership you will be able to signup for the league itself which is another $50 for a total cost of $100. The annual club membership is good for the entire year. This allows you to signup for the spring, summer, and fall leagues in 2026.
Who can join?
Curling is a sport for all ages. However, at this time, we do not have children’s stones, so we are limiting the league to those 16 and older for this session.

Learn to Curl Registration
Learn to Curl (LTC)
Perfect for first-timers! This session focuses on the fundamentals — delivering the stone, sweeping, and understanding basic rules and strategy. Coaches guide you step-by-step, ensuring you build a solid foundation. The session wraps up with a short game so you can try out your new skills in play.
Advanced Learn to Curl (ALTC)
Ideal for anyone who has attended a Learn to Curl or has basic familiarity with curling. This session offers more time for game play and skill development — refining delivery, improving consistency, and exploring team strategy — with coaches still on hand to help. “Advanced” simply means less time on the very beginning basics and more time to curl!
Both sessions include about two hours of ice time and one hour of game play. Either one will prepare you for league play, but attending both gives you the best mix of instruction, confidence, and hands-on experience before joining a team.
Cost
The cost is $30 per person for a 2 hour Learn to Curl session.
Location
Palm Beach Skate Zone
8125 Lake Worth Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33467
Date & Time
We curl on Sunday evenings
Please get to the ice 15 minutes prior. See the list of dates below to sign up and reserve your spot on the ice!
Waiver
All participants going on the ice will need to sign a waiver. Minors will need a parent/guardian to sign a waiver for them.
What should I wear?
Shoes. No raised heels or flip flops. Running shoes work well as long as the soles are clean.
Pants
Pants that offer easy movement are important as you will be required to stretch and get into some curling positions. Jeans can leave cotton on the ice and should NOT be worn.
Layers
It can be cold on the ice, so we suggest dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket. Gloves and thick socks can also help.

Get ready to channel your inner warrior at the 5th Annual Rising Sun 5K, taking place on February 28, 2027, at the beautiful John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Florida. Hosted by the Kickstart Foundation, this unique event is more than just a race; it is a celebration of discipline and community. The Kickstart Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering at-risk and underprivileged youth through the art of martial arts. By teaching core principles such as respect, focus, and perseverance, the foundation provides children with the essential life skills and self-esteem needed to succeed in school and beyond.
The event draws its inspiration from the Rising Sun, a powerful symbol often featured on flags and in traditional art to represent success, vitality, and the auspicious start of a new day. In the context of this 5K, it embodies the "rising" potential of every child the foundation serves. To truly bring this spirit to life, the race kicks off with an energizing karate-style warm-up. The excitement reaches its peak at the finish line, where every participant will have the exhilarating opportunity to break a board as they cross, symbolizing the personal obstacles they’ve overcome. Whether you are running for a personal best or walking for a great cause, your participation helps clear the path for the next generation of leaders.
