The annual Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race raises funds to support the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut. These centers offer one-on-one tutorial sessions to children valued at $5000/child and also offer teacher training programs valued at $10,000/tutor. 100% of the proceeds are distributed to the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut.

RACE COURSE DESCRIPTION

• A two loop course that starts and ends in front of the Scottish Rite Building at 207 Deming Street.

• Race course is a full gamut of ups and downs with moderate hills on a scenic route with plenty of water stations and volunteers.

• Loop 1:

4. Turn left at southern entrance to Candlewyck

5. Turn Right at Cambridge

6. Right on Lexington - loop around grass island

7. Right back on Cambridge

8. Right on Culver

9. Right Deming

10. Right on Candlewyck to start Loop 2

• Loop 2:

3. Follow Candlewyck to right on Stage Coach

4. Right onto Little Brook

5. Right on Culver

6. Right on Deming

7. Left into Scottish Rite Parking Lot to FINISH
