ABOUT FOLLOW MY STEPS
DID YOU KNOW?
Young Adults Who Were At-Risk for Falling Off Track but Had a Mentor Are:
55% more likely to enroll in college
130% more likely to hold leadership positions.
78% more likely to volunteer regularly
90% are interested in becoming a mentor
Our organization is headed by strong professional who are dedicated to elevating under-resourced students and their families. We understand that there is a disproportionate representation of minorities in key decision-making positions in all facets of leadership in the current time. We aim to close that gap by providing deserving students with the opportunity for financial, mental, and professional education. By offering mentorships to scholarship recipients, we aim to grow a network of like-minded individuals who will continuously give back to their communities and others alike.
VIRTUAL 5K OPTION: #MentoringMatters5K
#MentoringMatters5K is a virtual, non-competitive race by Follow My Steps that allows participants to choose their preferred distance and activity, such as running, walking, or dancing. It can be completed at any time from now until August 8th, and participants are encouraged to share post-challenge photos with the hashtag #MentoringMatters5K. The $40 registration fee serves as a donation to support resources for youth empowerment, including providing school supplies, financial aid for college-bound students, and hosting skill development workshops. Participants are encouraged to track their activity time and distance using a smartphone or smartwatch

POST RACE PARTY
Post race party with Live Music will feature the much loved hot food truck that we hired last year serving tacos & rice bowls. We're also bringing back the Ice Cream truck & cold N.A. Beer from our friends at Athletic Brewing Company.
TIRE RECOMMENDATIONS
Our tire recommendation is a tire like Panaracer GravelKing SK 38mm or 40 mm. The unpaved sections have a wide mix of surfaces and can get pretty rocky - especially for the additional miles in the MEGA route. We do not recommend racing with a traditional road bike and/or slick tires.
VOLUNTEERS
We'd greatly appreciate it if friends or family members could help out for a few hours at one of the aid stations. All volunteers will get one of our JGG event shirts and free entry into the post race awards party with food & drinks. They can sign up right here on BikeReg. (We'd welcome local non-profit groups to run an aid station as a fundraiser as well).

The Cycle Against Suicide Pilgrim Tour is a fundraiser for Cycle Against Suicide. You entry fee includes a one way ticket on the Fast Ferry from Provincetown to Plymouth, SAG and luggage service, marked route, GPS route, ride jersey and a donation to Cycle Against Suicide. We encourage fundraising through Pledge Reg. Every donation makes a difference
Cycle Against Suicide is charity that makes a valuable contribution to the public education of mental health by changing the narrative surrounding suicide. When an individual is vulnerable enough to consider taking their own life, silence is read as indifference. With hundreds of people dying by suicide each year and research indicating that thousands more contemplate it, we all have a role to play to collectively address the challenges that suicide presents. In a bid to save more lives, Cycle Against Suicide through its programmes, sets out to change culture and create a society that openly talks about suicide to allow people to speak up and seek help.
It’s OK not to feel OK; and it is absolutely OK to ask for help’
