Founded in June 2021 by Sara Asmoarp and Caroline Norin, We Run West is a small but close-knit running crew in Gothenburg focused on building community through timed interval training. Their unique approach synchronizes runners of varying speeds, fostering camaraderie and mutual encouragement during medium-distance runs around Slottsskogen Park and the historic Slottsskogsvallen Stadium. Meeting every Thursday evening, the crew’s five active members embrace an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where newcomers are welcome without fees or pressure. Beyond weekly sessions, they participate in local races like the Göteborgsvarvet half marathon, deepening their connection to Gothenburg’s vibrant running scene. The city’s blend of green spaces and urban energy provides an inspiring backdrop for their runs, balancing challenging intervals with scenic nature.
